As we prepared for Bentley's arrival, we tried to make sure Kolton had some fun too. Even though it was pretty cold outside, he invited Andrew over to ride bikes. :) I sat out there and watched them and it was pretty darn cold! They didn't seem to care, though. :)
The Friday night before we had Bentley, Brady and I went out to dinner at Zio's and then went to the mall and got pedicures. My feet and ankles were SWOLLEN! Like insanely swollen. It was a little embarrassing. :) The lady that was doing my feet, when she pulled up my pants, made a shocked face and said "Oh no!" Haha. It was bad. Brady and I had fun, though, on our last date before baby. It was good to get out with each other. I sure do love that man.
Saturday morning Kolton and Brady went on a bike ride. Kolton thought it was so fun! Brady took him out of the neighborhood and he thought that was so so cool!

Saturday night was a bonfire with the family and friends. It was a busy weekend. :)
Brady and Carter were too funny. Brady would open his mouth wide and Carter would follow suit. :)
Sunday evening my mom flew in. Kolton was so excited to go get her from the airport! We came home and hung out for a bit before going to bed. We had to be at the hospital at 6:00 the next morning.
Monday morning, the 11th, we made our way to the hospital. Myself, Brady, and my mom went together. It was so early! :) Brady's mom was going to come up later that morning.

At 6:30 they started my IV. I was dilated to a 3.
At 6:49 they started my Pitocin. They put it at 2.
At 7:20 they upped the pit to 4 and wanted to break my water. I told them I'd like to wait and make sure my body responded well to the induction and I progressed before they broke my water. For some reason I was really worried that they'd break my water and I wouldn't progress and then I'd have to get a c-section.
At 8:17 they upped the pit to 6 and then at 8:45 they upped it to 8.
At 9:17 they came in and broke my water. I was dilated to a 3-4. They told me that the other women that came in to have their babies that morning had already had them. I was the only one left in labor! I couldn't believe it! I had told them I wanted to get my epidural before they broke my water but that didn't happen. Haha. Immediately after my water broke the contractions got a lot more painful. The next 30 minutes waiting for the anesthesiologist to come were long!
Finally at 9:46, the anesthesiologist came and started my epidural. It took him 15 minutes to get it in! The first place he tried it wouldn't take and he kept moving it around trying to get it in the right spot. It was so painful! It would shoot pain down my back, butt, and leg every time he'd move it and try to put it in...on top of the pain of the contractions! Eventually he decided he needed to try a new spot. Luckily, that spot worked a lot better and he was able to get it in. It was so nice to feel the medicine begin to work and the pain to start to subside!
At 10:32 they came in to check me again and I was dilated to a 5 and really thin.
At 11:09 I was dilated to an 8. They turned off the pitocin and started some oxygen. At 11:19 I pushed for the first time. I wasn't completely numb but I was numb enough that it was really hard to tell if I was pushing like I should. Everyone kept encouraging me but it was still hard to tell. :) At 11:26 they had me take a break and had me sit up to see if that would help Bentley receive more oxygen and keep his heart rate up.
At 11:37 they prepped everyone and everything for delivery. I started pushing again at 11:40.
At 11:59 on November 11th, Bentley August Brammer was born. He weighed 8 lbs 3.1 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.
His face was pretty bruised up from the delivery. That is why it is bluish/purple.
He is just so sweet and has been from the very beginning.
I had quite a crazy time after I had him and could not get my body to stop shaking. It was crazy. I eventually got myself to go to sleep and that seemed to get my body to calm down. They then moved me to my recovery room and Madison brought Kolton up to meet his little brother.
Kolton was so precious as he walked in. He was so sweet and a little shy but wanted to hold him right away. You could just tell he was a little uncomfortable and didn't know what to think. He is just the sweetest big brother.
He held him and sang to him and looked him up and down. It was so sweet.

Bentley looked a lot like Kolton when Kolton was born. It was crazy! So cute!
Jeff and Vanessa and their kids came up that night to see Bentley. Right before they came, though, the nurse had taken him away to be bathed. They waited for her to bring him back but his temperature had dropped during the bath and it was taking a while for him to warm back up so they ended up having to leave before he was brought back to our room. So, the next day Vanessa came up to see him.
My mom brought Kolton back up to the hospital and they stopped by the gift shop and he picked out a giraffe for Bentley and a balloon and flower for me. He wrote the cutest note on the card. It brought me to tears.
Bentley passed his hearing test that morning and got circumcised so we were ready to go as soon as they would let us. We got him all dressed in his going home outfit.
So crazy how tiny they are in their carseats!

It was such an amazing experience to bring another sweet little boy into the world. Brady and I were just overwhelmed with love for him from the second we laid eyes on him. We are so blessed to have two beautiful, amazing little boys in our family.
