Sunday!

Sunday evening (around 7:30 or so) we went to Little River Park to go on a walk.  Xara had just gone to the vet on Thursday and received her last set of vaccinations so she was finally able to go somewhere with us! We also decided to let Kolton ride his bike.  On Sundays he isn't allowed to ride his bike (one of our rules for our family) but we'll let him if we are going on a family walk.
Anyway, we headed to the park and I took pictures.  Haha.  Because that's what I do.
After we walked around the park once, Brady, Xara and I sat down in between the two ponds.  Kolton rode his bike back and forth on the sidewalk that goes in between the ponds.

Kolton would stop and come sit with us after a pass or two on his bike.  He also spent a lot of time throwing rocks into the pond.  He'd get really excited about all the big splashes the big rocks would make.

He'd ride as fast as he could as he'd go past us.  He's such a boy!

It was a great Sunday evening! We have really been enjoying the weather we've had lately! It has been great to be able to go outside and have a good time without choking on the heat.  :)
We also found out on Sunday that on September 2nd at 10:00 we'll be having a special meeting to figure out what new ward we'll be in.  The ward boundaries are going to be realigned! I'm excited to find out but I'm also pretty sad about it too.  I've really come to love the people in our ward.  We've been in this ward for 6 years now and so its definitely going to be a change for us.

Playing in the Rain

Friday night we went to dinner with the Foys to Cheddars and then we went to their house for dessert.  We hadn't all hung out in a really long time so it was great to get together!
We got rain for the first time in WEEKS on Saturday, the 18th.  It was great! Nearly the whole day was cloudy and rainy! I just loved it! It was a cool rain, too!
Before the storm really came in, we let Kolton go out and play in it.  At first he said it was freezing but then he got used to it.

He then took his shirt off and started running to the newspaper in the yard and then back to the porch as fast as he could.  He did it over and over and over.  Ha.
He's so skinny!! He looks overly skinny in this picture but, nonetheless, he's still super skinny!
We also rearranged the office on Saturday.  We had put Kolton's trundle bed in the office for Shawn to sleep on while he was here.  We've really liked having it in the office to lay on when one of us is on the computer or something so we decided we needed to figure out how to keep it in there and also bring Xara's kennel back in the office.  So we moved stuff around and made it work.  Its a little crowded but it works!
Kolton really wanted to buy some football guys that Kade has.  We told him he had to pay for it with his own money but then I realized they were $20 and it would take him way too long to save up that money so then we told him we'd pay for half of it.  He had $7, so he needed $3 more.  I made him a list of a bunch of jobs he could do to earn money to get the rest of the money he needed to buy it.  They were jobs that I normally do like clean and vacuum the couches and ottoman, clean the dinning room table chairs, clean Missy's dog bowls etc.  He did all the jobs and earned the $3.00 he needed to go buy the football guys so Saturday evening we went to Academy to buy them.  He loves to play with them! Its been a good toy for him.  Unfortunately, on Saturday night he left some of the guys on the ottoman in the living room while he went to his room.  Xara went out there and got one of the guys and chewed his hand off.  It wouldn't have been a big deal except the guy she happened to get was one of the two quarterbacks you get and she chewed the hand off that had the football in it.  He was so upset.  I felt pretty bad for him.  It was a good lesson, though, and now he's really careful about not leaving his toys around and shutting his bedroom door so she can't go in there either.  I've since bought super glue and we are going to fix it but it still makes him sad.

Kolton's first day of Pre-K

Thursday, August 16th, was Kolton's first day of school. He was SO very excited to start Pre-K! The afternoon couldn't come soon enough! :)
(There are a TON of pictures in this post...he's our little boy...I couldn't help it!)
He started the morning with cartoons and his favorite cereal...Reese's Puffs.

Brittney wanted to take some pictures of the boys together but before we headed over to her house Kolton wanted a picture of him and his backpack.  :)
We got to the Foys at about 10:30 or 10:45.  It was deceivingly bright outside.  Even though there were clouds, the sun still seemed really bright.  The boys tried to keep their eyes open, though!
Brittney wrote "Pre-K 2012" on the driveway in chalk but I couldn't get it to show up in my picture without making the picture dark.  Still cute, though!

Brittney also set up Kade's desk outside and got some old books and had me bring apples.  Kolton was so goofy when he'd hold the apple.
He had such a hard time opening his eyes, though.  Sometimes he'd close them and then I'd count to three and he'd open them and I'd try and take a couple pictures and hope that they turned out.  Haha.

He was seriously so excited for school!!
He makes this face all the time.  He wanted a silly face picture.

He seriously looks like SUCH a big boy in the picture below!

He wanted a picture of his shoes.  He actually had me take a picture of each side of each shoe, but I'm just including one.  Haha.

After pictures we took the kids to the library to play a little bit before we had to go home and eat lunch and go to school.
I let Kolton pick anything he wanted for lunch.  Randomly he chose Ramen noodles.  Not really all that exciting for the first day of school but I wasn't going to talk him out of it if that is what he wanted.  So, he had ramen, grapes, cheese, and a star crunch.  :)

 He's so funny!
Brady had his half day for that week be on Thursday so he could come take Kolton to school and pick him up as well.  While we waited for him to get home I took a couple more pictures of Kolton because I hadn't taken enough already.  :)

We parked and walked him in.  He's so cute!

That's his teacher putting his name tag on.  They had a couple kids that were crying and pretty upset on the first day, but Kolton wasn't one of them! Oh how he has changed!! :)
He got right down to business and started painting right away.  When Brady and I said good-bye to him he didn't even look up at us and just waved and said bye.  Haha.
When we picked him up he was so happy! His teacher pulled us to the side and whispered "I wish I had a classroom full of him! You should be very proud! He's a very sweet boy!" It was so good to hear that he had behaved at school! We get nothing but compliments on his behavior! We are so blessed with such a sweet boy!
He started telling us right away what he did in class (they painted, played on the playground, sang songs, went to the library).
We went to Cherry Berry after school for a special treat!
After Cherry Berry he called Grandma Moffett to tell her about his first day.
It was so cute to listen to him and watch him experience this! He is getting so big--I can't believe it! I'm excited for him to have a good year at school! He's loved being able to go and play and spend time with new friends!
