9 Months Old!

Yesterday, Kolton was 9 months old! To celebrate, we took some pictures of him on Saturday in his OU attire. He's grown up so fast! He is so good at crawling now...it is crazy (and drives me a little crazy!)! We love him so much! He is so much fun to be around and we love watching him figure new things out! He follows me from room to room now as I do house chores and whatnot. New today: WHEN HE FOLLOWS ME AROUND HE SAYS "MAMA"...."MAMA"!!!! I can't believe it!!!!

Story Time

Every night Brady has been reading Kolton a story. It is so sweet to watch them! Kolton will follow Brady's finger all along the page as he points to things. Last night he read Kolton the story I Love You Through and Through.

Babyproof?

So, I'm thinking I might need to change the location of our DVDs...especially since we have them in alphabetical order (probably won't last).

New Toys!

This is a picture of Kolton in the backyard watching the dogs play (one of his new favorite things to do!).

I know this is a really bad picture but you can actually see his top two teeth. You can only ever see his bottom teeth, so I wanted to post this just to show he really does have 4 teeth! :)

Brady had a test in his statistics class but he couldn't use a calculator that was worth more than $1 (just so you couldn't do anything fancy with your calculator besides the normal add, subtract etc) so we went to the Dollar General to buy him a calculator. While we were there we decided to buy Kolton a few dinosaurs. He loves them!

I just love it when they play together! I love how Kolton is looking up at his Daddy...so sweet!

It works!

So, just wanted to let everyone know our AC works again! Yay! A friend of Brady's parents, Robby, came over and fixed it. Our a-coil just needed to be cleaned, so that was nice! And we only had to pay $40 instead of $150 for it to get fixed! So, now Kolton is fully clothed...most of the time! ;)
Also, our vacuum is broke. I know...our vacuum is ALWAYS broken. We have such horrible luck with vacuums, I swear! Anyway, it is in the shop getting fixed and so I am borrowing Brittney's vacuum. Well, I need to return it today so I thought I would vacuum again before giving it back to her and Kolton just followed me around the whole time I vacuumed. He usually will just sit in one spot while I vacuum (I think he is a little afraid of the vacuum) but today he was always right behind me. I almost stepped on him a couple of times. From room to room, he was right there. It is still really weird to me that he can crawl!

When all else fails...give them a cup!

Last night Kolton just did not want to go to bed. He is usually in bed by 9:30 at the latest but last night he was still going strong at 10:00. So, we gave him a plastic cup and that seemed to tucker him out.

Sorry for the naked child...our air conditioner is out of service right now so this is my way of keeping him somewhat comfortable! Poor guy...

Just Between Friends

Twice a year Just Between Friends comes to Oklahoma City and to Norman. My friend Shana told me about it when I was pregnant with Kolton. Ever since, I've gone to every one. This is where I get a lot of Kolton's clothes and toys. You can find such awesome deals at the consignment sale. Brady came with me to the Norman one and let Kolton play on this zebra toy and Kolton LOVED it! He doesn't quite fit on it yet, but every time I bring it out for him to play on he gets all excited and kicks his feet. Anyway, this was the first time he played on it at home.
(And yes, his new thing is to stick his tongue out when he thinks he is pretty cool and is excited about something.)

Kolton's First Playgroup

Kolton went to his first play group this week. It was at Brittney's house. He had so much fun. He never gets to play with other kids (not that there is much playing going on between two kids at this age) so it was good for him to be around other children for a couple hours.

Kolton will scratch and pinch his belly aslmot the whole time he is drinking his bottle. I think it is the weirdest thing!

Jamie, one of Brittney's friends, had a son named Tucker who was just one month younger than Kolton. They sat there for a few minutes just staring at each other and passing toys back and forth.

This is the whole group (minus one who left early). Shana's Brigham, 22 months old, my Kolton, 8 months old, Brittney's Kade, 2 months old, Nichole's Ross, 4 months old, and Jamie's Tucker, 7 months old.

Going to the Park

Lately it seems like we have been going to the park each evening. It has been a lot of fun for us to spend time with each other and Kolton without any distractions. And you know me, I love taking pictures, so here are some from our park experience on Monday night.

House Chores

The other day Kolton helped me unload the dishwasher. He thought that was pretty fun!

He also played with some magnet letters we got from Brady's mom while I was making dinner. Soon, though, he found the broom and thought that was pretty scary!

Finally he can CRAWL!

I know I do this a lot, but I have a ton of things to post!
Last Thursday we were at Brady's first basketball game of this season at church. I was talking to my friend Brittney saying that Kolton does all the right things to crawl, but just won't DO it. Just as I said that she started laughing and I look over and he is crawling! He saw someone's cell phone and apparantely that was enough to entice him to get going. So, there you have it! My son can finally crawl! Yay!

Piano Player Already!

When my mom came to visit in June we had just received this piano from someone in our ward. I hadn't ever let Kolton play on it and so my mom thought she would see how he liked that. Well, he loved it and ever since then he LOVES to play the piano! I'm so glad my mom was able to come out and show Kolton how cool playing the piano really is. She's so awesome! When I'm in the office working on something on the computer, he will always pull himself up to the piano bench and play a little song for me. I had to take a few pictures of him doing that today. He can barely reach, but plays the same keys over and over.

Here comes the bumps and bruises...

So, in the past day Kolton has gotten 2 new bruises on his face. It is so sad. I know it is something you can't prevent--every kid does it, but still...
He is walking along furniture now. Slowly, but nonetheless, still moving along. He pulls himself up to everything!
Yesterday afternoon he pulled himself up on our bed's footboard while I was folding laundry. A few minutes later I heard a bang and then a scream and I looked up and he had fallen and had a huge red mark on his cheek. Minutes later he had a faint purple bruise on his face. Today, he hit his head again and now has a faint purple bruise right above his left eye on his forehead. Poor guy.

Lunch with Dad!!!

This year we have decided that every Wednesday Kolton and I will meet Brady down in Norman for lunch. Today we went to Taco Bueno and Kolton had a lot of fun just talking away. He's getting so big. I'm so glad we are able to meet Brady to go out for lunch once a week. It isn't ever anywhere expensive or fancy, but I feel so lucky to be able to do this. Brady has always worked so hard in school and work and I am so thankful for that. I'm so glad he hasn't wanted to take an easier route or go to school less or work fewer hours. He's trying so hard to provide for us now while trying to make a better future for us all at once. What a wonderful husband I married! :)

Playing with Mom and Dad

Here are just some fun pictures of Kolton playing with Brady and myself (there aren't many pictures of me so I gotta treasure the ones I have!). He thought it was pretty cool to be inside Daddy's shirt! I have so much fun with Kolton! He makes my life so happy! I feel so blessed to be his mom! We have a wonderful family, Brady and I. With two beautiful children, I couldn't be more lucky. I just can't wait to experience all these experiences with Lillian! Sometimes when I am thinking about Kolton and feel a little sad that I for now have missed out on such sweet memories with her. I can't wait until we can have her once again! But, for now, I feel pretty lucky to have such a sweet son!
