The Rest of Utah Trip

So, lets just say I didn't do a good job documenting the time in Utah.  Haha.
Saturday morning Shawn took Kolton out to run.  Before we left for Utah Kolton said he was going to ask Shawn to take him running.  I thought that was cute.  They ran a mile and a half, took a break to play at the park, and then ran another half mile.  Shawn said he kept a good pace too.  I'm so proud of him!

On Saturday Maddi came to my parents to visit.  A bunch of my extended family was coming over that afternoon/evening so she came then too.  It was so great to see her and catch up with her.  It was also pie day that day so we had a bunch of pies! They were yummy!

Kolton picked out a couple flowers from the flower arrangements left over from the wedding for me.  He had my mom help him put them in a vase and everything.  He is so sweet and thoughtful.  I just love him.
Shawn went back to Provo Sunday morning.  It was so great hanging out with him while he was there! He's a great brother and an especially great uncle.
I went to nursery with Bentley at church.  My mom is the nursery leader so we thought it would just be good to do that instead of trying to wrestle Bentley in sunday school and relief society.  That evening we watched Big Hero 6 that my dad bought Kolton and ate lots of candy and popcorn.  Kolton had gone to run errands with my dad on Saturday and he came home with a movie and a huge coloring book.
Monday we met Derek and his kids at the park that has ducks.  Bentley loved chasing the ducks and kept trying to get them but never could quite catch up.  :) Kolton had tons of fun playing with Korver! He even got to go play at their house again later that afternoon!

Bentley and I went with my mom and Cam to go prom dress shopping.  After that we went to Derek and Lizzie's for dinner.  After dinner we roasted marshmallows and hung out.  It was a lot of fun and so nice of them to have us all over.
I got Cam to do my eye make-up for me on Sunday.  She has awesome make-up and does an awesome job!

Bentley learned how to say "uh-oh" while we were in Utah.  It was so cute! Just the way he forms his lips to say the "oh" is so precious.
We must have gone to the park again on Tuesday or something.  Haha.  Then my friend Sarah came with her two kids to hang out for a little bit.  I'm sad we didn't get a picture or anything documenting the occasion but we had a great time catching up! It was great talking to her and seeing her cute kids!

We said good-bye to my Grandma and Grandpa Ames on Tuesday.  It was so great being able to see them this trip!

All the kids with Grandma and Grandpa.  Bentley was totally happy with taking his picture.  Haha.  This was actually Monday night at Derek and Lizzie's house.
Bentley kept hitting me in the face one morning.  Haha.  He did pretty good sleeping there! He and I shared a room and Kolton just slept with whoever he wanted.  Haha.  While Shawn was there he slept in the basement with him and then after he left he slept in my parent's room.  Bentley would usually last in the pack and play until around 5ish and then I'd bring him in to bed with me.  He has to be touching you, though, so it isn't super comfortable.  Haha.
We left Wednesday afternoon to fly home.  Flying with Bentley is so not fun.  Haha.  And then poor Kolton didn't have anything to do.  I forgot to charge the laptop and the tablet so both were dead and so he had nothing to do.  He was good though and actually ended up falling asleep.  Brady was able to pick us up from the airport which was nice and then we went to Teds for dinner as a family.  It was a fun and busy trip to Utah and it went by really fast.  It was great to be home with Brady, though!

Trip to Utah: The Wedding!!

Wednesday afternoon Kolton, Bentley and I flew out to Utah for my brother, Tyler's, wedding.  Brady was supposed to come with us but since he switched jobs (did I ever mention he works at Weokie Credit Union now?! Yep, he does...as a Loss Mitigation Officer for the Fannie Mae mortgages), his new job will not let him take any time off of work until June 1st so he couldn't go.  We were all pretty bummed about that! When I checked in that day I went in to a panic because it said we were flying standby.  I didn't understand how that could be because I did not pay standby prices! Haha.  I called and got it figured out, thankfully.  Bentley did ok on the flight.  He wanted to desperately to fall asleep towards the end of the flight but just couldn't do it.  Kolton was of course perfect.  It is so easy to fly with him now and I'm grateful for that!
My mom and Cam came and picked us up.  When we got home Tyler and Shalyse were there so that was fun to be able to see them and hang out a little bit.  Bentley found this stool and absolutely loved it! Kept climbing up and down off of it.

Thursday afternoon some family from Washington came in.  My Grandma and Grandpa and then Ben, Gina, and Jessica and Rulene and Kevin.  It was great to see them all! Joel came over to see them too.

Oh Kolton gets so spoiled when we go to visit.  Always getting his back or arms tickled by someone.  Haha.
Shawn, Derek and Lizzie, Tyler, and Shalyse came over that evening.  We had pizza and hung out with everyone.  It was a lot of fun to see everyone!

Tyler stayed the night that night.  He tried to go to bed early but everyone else was up late getting stuff ready.  I helped Shawn make his present for Tyler and Shalyse (which I didn't get a picture of but it is a painting he did of them on a piece of wood and framed--it looks awesome!).
Funny story, but Shawn had stained the wood for the frame.  Kolton then goes out to the garage and straight away picks up the wood for the frame.  I hurry and tell him to put it down because it is still wet so he does and then wipes his hands on his shirt! I said to him "Kolton! Use your brain!" He then replies with "Even if I was using my brain I still would have done that because I didn't know they were wet!" Haha.  It was funny!
Tyler and my parents left early Friday to go pick up Shalyse and head to the temple.

We left for the temple a little before 9:00.  We had to be in there by 9:30.  Cam, my cousin Lizzie, and cousins Jessica and Joel were going to watch all the kids for us.  I was pretty nervous how Bentley would do but I guess he just played and played and didn't make a peep! Yay!!

The wedding and sealing were beautiful and of course I cried.  So sweet to see your little brother get married and sealed to the girl he loves.
We had fun waiting for them to come out of the temple.  :) Bentley kept climbing up the stairs to the temple which was scary!

There they are! The newlyweds! :) So cute!

The pictures of Bentley with them are hilarious.  He just cried and cried! Kolton is perfectly smiling in all of them.  Haha.

After pictures we headed to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building to have the luncheon.  It was in the Jade Room and it was beautiful! We got to eat delicious food too.  I ordered the chicken plate which came with salad and rolls as an appetizer.  Then on the plate it was teriyaki chicken, rice pilaf, and grilled vegetables.  Then for dessert we had brownies and ice cream.  My mom made the slideshow/movie of Tyler and Shalyse and that was played while we ate dessert.  Then everyone from the head table got up and said a few words.  I had to leave for part of this part because Bentley would not be quiet.  Haha.  I heard most of what Shalyse's dad said, none of her step-dad or mom, and then most of my mom, and then my dad.  Tyler also got up and said some sweet things to Shalyse.  My Grandpa Ames got up and sang "I'm My Own Grandpa" and got everyone laughing.  My Grandma also got up and said how happy she was for Tyler and Shalyse.  It was a great luncheon.

Both boys crashed on the way home.  We had about an hour or so in between the luncheon and when we needed to be to the reception hall.  It was not long enough! Haha.
We took pictures and then Kolton had fun playing on the dance floor before the reception started.
They cut the cake and then smooshed it in each other's faces.  :)

Kolton was really looking forward to the garter being thrown.  He really wanted to try and get it.  Unfortunately the kid in the black and white striped shirt pushed him backwards when Tyler through it so he was pretty bummed he didn't even get to try and get it.  Shawn ended up catching it and Cam ended up catching the bouquet.
We got home around 9:45 or so.  It was a great, long day! I am so happy we were able to be there for it!! I'm so happy for Tyler and Shalyse!
