Redhawks and More...

Kolton went to the library this week for his first time! I took him to the story time but it was the older kid one and was way over his head so we left that early and he just played with the puzzles and toys they have there and sat and read some books with me. We spent over an hour there. I knew I had fines on my library card (I turned in a book over a year late...) but I didn't know how much they were. I went and asked expecting her to at least say a few dollars...nope...$0.10. So I obviously quickly paid that and then let Kolton pick out some books to take home. All he wanted were cars and truck books (he got one airplane book too). I've read the dump truck book to him AT LEAST 10 times since Tuesday. :) He loves them!
I decided to take him back to the library on Wednesday when they have the baby story time for kids 3 and under. He liked that one much more! It was more interactive! And Kade got to come too so he liked seeing him there!
He got to have a turn on one of the kid computers there. This was the first time he's actually sat down and tried to do something on a computer with a mouse. He actually did pretty good with the toddler game he played. You had to pick up the keys (just by putting the mouse over it) and match the lettered key to the right lettered train car.

I came out of the shower yesterday to find Kolton mastering this new trick:

He goes from the bed to the window seat, climbs up, and then jumps to the bed (which he's done before). I can't believe he's learning to climb things like that! I'm going to have to lock him in his room or something when I take showers from now on. ;)

Last night we went to the Redhawks game with the Foys. They had tickets and invited us to come with them. Kolton was really excited all day to go to a baseball game! He kept talking about how when Daddy got home, him, Daddy and I were going to a baseball game together! It was cute to see how excited he was!

I tried a few times to take a picture with him. Some kind of turned out with him sort of looking...

And others did not... :)

He'd make a silly face with Brady though. :)

And then with Emery as bait behind me we got him to smile. :)

He started trying to do the splits while watching the game and got pretty close to the ground!!

It was a fun activity to do besides sit around the house and it was free!! :) Its nice to get out sometimes!!

I was SO thirsty when we left that we HAD to stop and get a drink. We decided upon 7-Eleven to quench our thirst and all decided to get blue icees. $2.57 later I wasn't thirsty anymore, Kolton was excited to get an icee, and we all had blue tongues. :)
Our family is the best!

No Fear

Yesterday Kolton decided it was OK to jump in to the pool without anyone catching him. I don't know what brought it on but he just decided to do it! He was so proud himself and we were excited that he is growing so big!
It started at first jumping off of the steps into the pool.

Then he stopped to take a break and eat donuts.

And get a powdered sugar face!

Then he jumped off into the pool with Daddy.

And then by himself.

And then with mommy!

Then he thought he needed more sunscreen.

And then let daddy throw him!
I'm glad he's growing in to such a big, brave boy!

Trampoline

Monday evening the Jeff and Vanessa and their boys came over to jump on the trampoline. The boys had a lot of fun! They jumped for about 45 minutes and got B-L-A-C-K! I don't know what is wrong with this trampoline but it turns you black! Pierson was black practically from head to toe! :) We had to give them all baths afterward but it was worth it!

After a while they all decided they needed to take their shirts off. :) And, yes, Kolton jumps holding his nipples. He's obsessed with them! What can you do?

Kolton took a couple of breaks--its hot outside lately! Brady is clearly impressed with Kolton's black feet. :) Notice Kolton's floatie tan line on his arms? It cracks me up--that part of his arm rarely sees sun so its remained white! :)

Did I mention we are expecting puppies in August?? We are starting to get things ready for them to come. On Monday we got what we think we'll use for a new whelping box. We need to figure some more things out with it but it should be good for the puppies! Pearl is already starting to get bigger so we are pretty positive she'll be having puppies the middle of August. Its funny to think back to the first litter we had with Roxy 2 years ago. How unprepared we were especially compared to now. I'm not a breeding expert or Great Dane expert by any means but we have learned so much about them in the last 3 years! We are thinking about taking a long break from breeding, though, after this litter. If you haven't bred then you can't understand how much work it really is to raise puppies! At each age brings new challenges. It has been good for our family, though, and I'm glad that it has worked out for us. There have been some ups and downs but overall I think we've had a positive experience.
Now, on a compeltely different note check out Kolton counting to 10 in Spanish. He gets a little off in the middle and forgets the number 7 but he did pretty good! When I taught it to him I sang the numbers to a little song my mom used to sing when we were little. I put an "ah" at the end of "seis" and "diez" so he does it too. You get the point, though! He loves to do it! He's been doing it for a couple months but I just was able to catch it on video! :)

Sam Noble Museum of Natural History

On Monday Kolton and I went to the Sam Noble Museum down in Norman with the Foys. We had tried to go a week or so ago but couldn't so we were finally able to go this week.
Kolton liked the dinosaur things the best!

I guess this skull is the biggest complete skull found in Oklahoma I believe.

At first Kolton would not touch the mammoth. I'm not sure why--he loved trying to touch everything else, but then we finally got him to touch it but then he wouldn't do the typical pose of lying underneath the mammoth's foot.

We did eventually get him to lay down next to it with Kade. :)

Kolton loved the Discovery Room. He loved putting the puzzles together and also playing with the animals they had there. They also had these chairs they could play in and rock back and forth. Kolton kept throwing himself backward and rolling out of it!

For some reason as we'd look at some of the exhibits Kolton liked pointing out the gross things and tell me how gross they were.
After the museum we met up with Brady at McDonalds to eat lunch. As we pulled in to the parking lot, Kolton said "Oh crap! McDonalds!" That's the first time I've ever heard him say that! It was hard not to laugh but I tried to explain to him that he shouldn't say that. :) Why would he even say that anyway? He loves McDonalds! :)
That afternoon he laid down on the couch and was sacked out. He continued to sleep halfway through dinner!
On Sunday we went to the Brammer's house for Jeff's birthday dinner. When we were about to leave we told Kolton to give Madison a hug and a kiss goodbye. He hugged her and then she said she didn't want a kiss but Kolton wasn't going to take "no" for an answer! He probably tried for about 5 minutes trying to plant a kiss on her lips. ;) He would pull her back and tackle her and move her hair and pull her hands away trying desperately to get a kiss! ;) It was good entertainment! We were all laughing and teasing that he's going to be the little boy on the playground chasing all the girls trying to give them kisses while they run away afraid of the cooties!

New Looks

My brother, Shawn, has been on his mission since the end of February. He sent us a few pictures this week! It was fun to see what he's up to!
Him and a companion were biking and came across a little family of ducks. They chased after them and Shawn happened to catch one! :)
One of Shawn's really good friends from back in Utah is serving in the same mission as him which is actually pretty cool! Right now they are serving in the same area so they get to see each other quite often.

Shawn is being an amazing missionary and I am so proud of him for everything he's doing! He hasn't even been on his mission for 5 months and next transfer he is going to be a trainer and district leader! Every letter he writes he tells me how much fun he's having and how he loves the work he is doing! He has such a drive and a passion for the work and I'm so proud of him and hope that he keeps that ambition!

Last week I was going through Kolton's baby clothes looking for his newborn clothes to send to my brother Derek and his wife who are expecting a baby boy in September for them to use. One of the boxes I grabbed had some things in there that weren't newborn but Kolton thought it would be fun to wear them. :) His pajamas didn't quite fit him and then he paired it with a hat my grandpa crocheted him that's red white and blue! He looked adorable! ;)

In the mornings when I get ready Kolton typically either watches Clifford or George or a movie in his room. One morning, for some reason, he watched his movie with sunglasses and two blankets on. My cousin, Daegan, suggested we need to turn the brightness on the tv down--I guess so! :)

Thursday night we got to hang out with the Revells. We went swimming and then went to the Eskimo Sno in Norman that is indoors over by the dollar theatre and Braums and stuff. I think this is the first time Kolton ate his entire sno cone!

Now don't judge us--we had been swimming just before this so we aren't fixed up or anything!

Saturday Brigham came over to play while his parents went to the temple for Spencer to receive his endowment (he's leaving on his mission in September to California). We also had Kade's birthday party at Jumpzone that morning. The boys had a blast!
On Saturday Kolton and I also went to the hospital to see Mindy and her new baby, Luci!! She's SO cute and we had a lot of fun hanging out up there with them and their family!
He shared an icee while we were there and since then his new thing to say is that something is "licious" instead of "yummy" like he used say. I think its so cute! Even when I'm eating he'll ask me if it's "licious" just to make sure!
