Thanksgiving and Setting up the Christmas Tree

Kolton was feeling ok on Thursday.  It hadn't gotten really bad yet and he was excited to go to Grandma and Grandpa's to see everyone.  Brady went and played football that morning while I stayed home and got things ready to go to his parents house that afternoon.  We left at like noon and went over there for a 1:00 lunch/dinner.  We brought deviled eggs, lemon pie, and cookies (a ton of cookies! :)).

We stayed there until around 5:00 and then went home so Kolton could rest.  Everyone seemed to have a good time.  We skyped with my family that evening and drew names for Christmas.
Starting Friday Kolton started feeling a little worse.  The Storeys brought Kolton a present on Friday of treats and a nerf gun you can put together.  Kolton thought that was so cool! He had a lot of fun putting it together.  And that thing works really well too!

Friday night I had a couple errands I needed to run so I left the boys at home with Brady after we ate dinner.  When I came home Kolton and Brady had totally set up the Christmas tree!!! I was so excited! It was such an awesome surprise.  We then put all the decorations on as a family.  It was a good time! Bentley had to work really really hard to get an ornament on.  When he finally would he would jump up and down all through the living room with his hands in the air and say "I did it! I did it!" It was so cute!

Kolton got to put the star on top of the tree, per tradition.  :)

Here's our tree and stockings all hung up! So happy I finally have the stockings I want this year!!

We had the Landrums over that weekend.  Bentley has started to love hanging out with their boys.  Kyler was laying on the floor and Bentley totally started copying his every move.  It was awesome.

Sunday morning when Bentley woke up we had already turned the Christmas tree lights on.  He totally held his mickey and goofy and was showing them the tree.  It was adorable.

We went to Brady's parent's house on Sunday for dinner.  Kolton was starting to feel a little better at this point.  He went to sacrament meeting that day but then we came home so he could rest.

Kolton's Tonsillectomy

We had to be at the hospital at 5:00 so I woke Kolton up at 4:30.  I left Bentley at home with Brady.  Brady's parents then came to the house at 7:00 so Brady could go to work.  Then they took Bentley to Jaycee's at 8 so they could go work at the temple.
Kolton was super super nervous for the surgery.  More so getting the iv actually.  So when the nurse told him that he wouldn't be getting the iv until he was asleep he was in heaven and was a totally different kid after that.  Haha.  All his worries were gone! ;)
They took Kolton back at 7:15.  At 8:00 the doctor came and talked to me.  He said the surgery went great and that Kolton fell asleep super fast.  He said they trimmed his adenoids down too because those were huge and just gross.  At 8:15 they brought Kolton to me and he got a popsicle right away.  He didn't feel too much pain but was pretty dizzy feeling.  More than one nurse while we were there made comments about how cute Kolton was and how sweet of a boy he is and that they really liked him.  Two nurses said he was the best patient of his age that they've had.  They said most of them cry or complain but he didn't do any of those things.  One of the nurses said she loved his disposition and she could tell he was such a good, sweet boy and that we must have done something right raising him.  I  told her no, it was all him.  He really is just a sweet boy.

They let us leave the hospital at 8:45.  We stopped at Walgreens on the way home to turn in his prescriptions and then went home.  Jaycee brought Bentley over a little after that.  Kolton was so tired he could hardly stay awake on the way home.

Both boys ended up passing out that morning and getting a good nap in.
When Brady got home I went to Walgreens to pick up Kolton's prescriptions.  While I was gone Bentley could not stay awake.  It was only 6:00 and even when Brady held him up he was still asleep.  haha.  His nap that morning was too early for him to be able to stay up all evening.  Brady tried to wake him up and he flopped back down and fell asleep so then he tried to hold him and he fell asleep sitting up.  It was too funny.

Wednesday Bentley had a fever so I contacted the Himes because while they were here their kids were sick and Jill said they had just had strep so I wanted to know how recently they had strep so I could know if Bentley had a chance of getting it or not.  He also said that morning that his throat hurt.  I was just holding him in the kitchen and he just pointed to his neck and said "oww."  Anyway, Mark ended up calling us in a prescription so we could get him feeling better asap because he said it sounded like strep.
Kolton did really well Wednesday and didn't feel too bad at all.
Vanessa brought the boys and they brought Kolton a present (the tiger he is sleeping with), some popsicles, and a card.  I thought that was sweet.

Himes Came to Visit

Friday night the Himes drove in.  We were up until like 1:00 chatting and hanging out.  The boys then got up at 2 something to leave to go hunting! Crazy! Haha.
I had a couple of girls come join me in bed that morning before I was ready to get up.  Haha.

Jill and I took the kids to Chuck E Cheeses that morning for them to play.  The kids had a blast! It was fun! I got in trouble from the workers for putting Bentley up on the basketball game toy and may have copped some attitude but I couldn't help it.  Haha.  Then Kolton was playing one of the basketball games and score 171!! It was insane!

The guys had fun hunting and got 5 ducks.  Brady shot 3 of them and then Mark got the other two.

Saturday afternoon Cassidy Lundberg came over to chat and see Jill and then that evening the Himes went to the TCU game while we stayed home and watched the kids.  That was an intense game let me tell you! We were stomping them the first half but then Baker Mayfield (our QB) wasn't allowed to play the second half and so we could not get going on offense.  They came back and scored a touchdown to put them down by one with only like 30 seconds left in the game.  Instead of kicking the extra point to send it to overtime they decided to go for two points and we blocked their pass so we ended up winning by one.  It was crazy!
Sunday after church we had the Landrums over for dinner.  Joni came but left all her kids at home because the Himes kids had been sick while they were here.  We had fun chatting and hanging out like old times.  The Himes left Monday late morning.  It was great to have them here for the weekend! After they left I kicked it into high gear trying to clean up and get the house back in order so that we'd be ready for Kolton's surgery the next day (tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy).
Kolton sacked out after the Himes left.  He had had a full and busy weekend!
We had him take a bath that evening so he wouldn't have to in the morning before his surgery.  He wanted a bubble bath and when he rinsed his hair he came up looking like this.  :)

New Clothes and Soccer Party

Bentley needed some new winter clothes.  He only had 2 pairs of jeans and I just couldn't keep up with the laundry well enough to make sure he had a clean pair of pants and he only had about 4 long sleeved shirts and he had also grown out of all of his church shirts so I went to the mall to pick up a few things.  I ended up going to Gap Kids because the entire store was at least 40% off and their clothes are just so much better quality than Children's place.  I came home with a five shirts for Bentley and 3 shirts for Kolton and pants for Bentley and Kolton and church clothes for them both as well and only spent a little less than $100.

On the 19th we had our end of soccer season party.  Gabe's family hosted it in their amazing home! We had pizza and treats and the kids played and played.  They then signed balls for everyone to take home to remember everyone on their team.  It was fun and we all had a good time!

I came out of the shower Friday morning and Bentley had almost emptied a brand new package of diaper wipes.  He was so proud of himself and totally didn't realize he had done something wrong.  Haha.  It was funny.

Daredevil

These were all taken on November 17th.  This kid is crazy.  He had pushed the desk chair next to the bed and climbed up on the back and would fall onto the bed.  He thought it was so fun! He is just so stinking cute.  Literally when I go places people stop me and tell me "he is a doll" or "He is one good looking boy" or "You've got yourself a looker." And I completely agree!

This picture just makes me so happy seeing these two brothers love each other! I just love it!
