Swimming

We have been doing a lot of playing lately--summer is fun like that! I love swimming and so do Brady and Kolton!
Last Wednesday I came inside from taking the garbage to the dumpster and found Kolton in the kitchen sitting on the counter spraying his feet. I asked him what he was doing and he told me that his feet were dirty and that he needed to clean them. I love that he can do these things on his own now. ;)

Kolton is such a great sleeper! We really are lucky to have him! One morning after Brady and I woke up we went to check Kolton and this is how he was sleeping. :) Well, actually his legs were hanging off the bed but when I came back with the camera he had pulled them up but I just can't imagine how it would be comfortable to sleep with your head under the pillow. :) This last Sunday night we put Kolton to bed at 8 and he didn't wake up until 9 the next morning! He was tired! ;)

We got to go swimming with Brooklyn and Kashton Gulbransen at their apartment's pool. I just can't say how much I love taking Kolton swimming! I seriously wish we had one!! One day maybe... Anyway, Kolton always likes to take a break and eat a little snack and dry out some on his towel. I think I have a picture of him doing this EVERY time we go swimming!

Kolton got to take several bubble baths this week. :)

We also went swimming with Jeff and Vanessa and their boys twice this week. On Thursday we went swimming for over 3 hours and Kolton could have probably done more! He did really well swimming and going off on his own. When we got there there was actually a few LDS ladies and their kids swimming in the pool--one of which I knew when I was growing up in Norman--Dawn Goepfert. Her husband was one of my brother's young men leaders when I was in the ward. They now have a little boy named Guy. It was fun to catch up with her and hear how her family was doing.

Check Kolton out! He does this on his own now and will just lay there and float for a minute or two at a time just completely relaxed. He's so big! ;) I know I say that a lot but really lately he makes me feel like he's a little boy now. The questions he asks are so funny and sometimes they catch me off guard because I don't expect him to be old enough to say those things.

Brady's Father's Day present came in the mail on Thursday. Because of the nature of his gift he had to open it and have it installed before Father's Day because if it didn't work you had to return it within 5 days so we didn't want him to wait until Sunday and then only have a couple days to return it.

This is what he got:
If you didn't know what his car looked like before you probably have no idea what it is that he got but he got a new spoiler. He just had the regular spoiler and really wanted the GT spoiler so we ordered him one and then a guy from his work helped him install it. He really likes it! He has a few more things he wants to do to his car but those will probably come one at a time as birthdays and Christmases come around. :)

He wanted donuts for Father's Day breakfast but we weren't able to get them Saturday night so Monday morning we went as a family and enjoyed some Krispy Kreme. This was Kolton's first time to go and watch the donuts be made and get a free one and he thought that was pretty cool!

Lately Kolton has been playing with his cars A LOT! He will be in his room all quiet just lining up his cars and stacking them on top of each other and putting them down the race track. He loves to show us how many cars he's lined up. He's really careful too to make sure they all face the same way and line up in a perfect line with no car sticking out more than another.

Friday night we went to a baptism for Taylor Williquette. It was a great baptism and had yummy cupcakes afterwards! I'm glad Kolton and I were able to go. Kolton thought it was fun to see him get baptized. A few times he kept asking me "Kolton see Jesus get baptized?" I would tell him no--that we were going to see Taylor be baptized and he'd ask me a couple minutes later if he could see Jesus get baptized. It was so cute! Then after Taylor was baptized and we went to go sit back down he asked me "Now see Jesus get baptized?" It was just cute how sweet his little spirit is and how much he wanted to see Jesus get baptized.
Saturday morning Dylen went to the temple to receive his endowment. Brady and I were able to go while the Foys watched Kolton for us. Dylen leaves for his mission in July.
Brady was excited to go swimming with us on Saturday afternoon/evening. We went to Jeff and Vanessa's and ate dinner and then went swimming. We had fun acting like kids and doing flips and handstands in the water and jumping in trying to make the biggest splash. :)

Here's Kolton again taking a break to eat a snack. ;)

Kolton and I. I had to put it in because these rarely happen since I'm usually behind the camera. :)

Kolton stayed in nursery again on Sunday. You have no idea how nice that is! I'm so glad Kaye Davis is in the nursery now! Kade even had to leave early and Kolton stayed! Its so great! Brady was able to actually teach with me and it made it so much nicer!!
Here's a video of Kolton's dance moves to the song "Cooler Than Me." I love how in the middle he puts his thumb up at the computer. It makes me laugh every time I watch it!

Friends

One nice thing about 1-4 church is you get to sleep in!! These two boys slept in until after 10:30 last Sunday!! I couldn't believe it!
Saturday, the 5th was Sterling's dental school graduation. Brady unfortunately had to work, but I got to go! It was such an exciting day for them!
Check out one of the professors...I didn't think people ACTUALLY had mustaches like that. :)

The Foy family.

The Wright family (plus me).

Saturday night we went to the Bittles and went swimming with the Revells. Kolton and Brigham ate like 4 Popsicles and 2 cold hot dogs each. :) It was awesome! Its always fun to hang out with them--especially for me. It brings back a lot of high school memories and all the drama! ;)

Emery was blessed on Sunday and Brady was lucky enough to be able to participate in that. It was an amazing blessing!

Monday we had the Foys over for dinner to hang out before they left for a week for Houston. Right after dinner Kolton came up to me and told me his stomach hurt. I didn't think he was old enough to actually tell me when his stomach hurt so I just thought he was being silly. I told him he was fine and then he told me again and was holding his stomach. I picked him up and told him to not push on his stomach and then it wouldn't hurt. No sooner had I said that and he started puking all over me--like gallons of water! It was crazy how much was coming out of him. Anyway, apparently he was drinking a bunch of water out of his kiddie pool and I'm thinking that is what made his stomach hurt because he didn't act sick nor did he have a fever and he didn't throw up after that night. I am so glad too because its so sad to have a sick little boy!!
Kolton and Titan had some bonding time this last week. :)

Kashton came over on Tuesday and the boys played in the kiddie pool. For like the first hour they wouldn't really play in there but for the last 45 minutes or so they splashed and splashed and laid down and poured water on themselves and just had a blast. It was fun to watch!

Friday was Brady's day off this last week so we did a lot of errand running and hanging out. I think we only spent like 3 or so hours at home and a lot of that was spent sleeping! ;)
Saturday Jeff and Vanessa moved in to their apartment and so after Brady's work we went over there and Brady helped set up their bed and then we headed to Braum's for ice cream! :)
Sunday we went to the Norman Stake's Stake Conference. Dylen was being ordained an Elder and Elder Nelson from the Quorum of Twelve Apostles was there speaking. It was one of the best stake conferences I've been to. All the talks were amazing! Elder Nelson talked about how to be great parents and I really enjoyed his talk. He told us to make sure our children know that they are literally children of God and are created in his image. He told us to make sure our children hear their father's read from the scriptures and pray for them. He told us to reprimand our children lovingly and not to spank them (I wonder if flicking is still ok? :) ) and to praise them in public. He told us to enjoy every day we have with our children because some of us loose them all too soon (he has a daughter that passed away). It was all very inspiring.
Monday I got a letter in the mail from my brother Shawn who is serving a mission. It was such a nice letter and it really made my day!
Yesterday we received 10.21" of rain! 10 inches of rain in one day!! Interstates in the city had to shut down and people in Edmond were on their roofs with rain as high as their garage doors. What state has ice storms, tornadoes and flooding??! :) What a great state to live in! ;)
And finally, today is my dad's 45th birthday! Happy birthday Dad!!

24th BIRTHDAY

Friday afternoon we got to watch Ross and Maycie Sorenson. They were so good! Ross is so funny--he kept calling me mommy! ;) And Kolton kept calling Ross Pierson. Good times! The boys just played with airplanes, cars and a little basketball. Kolton had fun playing with him!

That night we went swimming. Kolton had fun jumping off the diving board and going down the slide. Brady and I both swam and took turns playing with Kade and Kolton. It was good for Brady to swim too--it took a lot of pressure off his foot and calf and hip which all hurt him! :)

We did end up having a little mishap that night though. :( I thought Kolton would be fine in the pool by himself so I put his floaties on and let him walk down the stairs in to the pool. Well, apparently he had forgotten since last summer how to keep his head out of the water. He kept gurgling water so Brady instinctively just got in the pool real quick to get him out--in all his clothes. He was literally in there for about 20 seconds which is apparently plenty of time to completely drown an iPhone. We took it out of the case and let it dry there and then when we went home we put it in a bag of rice and let it sit there for 3 days. But, it wouldn't turn on so we had to get him a new one. We will never again bring our phones near a pool, lake, stream, puddle--anything! ;) Just teasing, but really, it kind of stunk.
On Saturday Kolton and I went swimming at the Bittle's pool with Kit and Shana. Both Shana's sisters were there as well as Krista and Robbie Leurs. Kit stole my camera and snapped this shot:
I for some reason decided not to put sunscreen on and totally burnt my shoulders. Oh it hurt to bad!! Tuesday night I went to zumba and while I was there they started blistering (from the sweat and body heat I think) and now they are peeling. Lovely. I vow to never go without sunscreen again! (That will make my mom happy!)
Sunday was another glorious day in terms of nursery! :) We got a new nursery leader who Kolton seems to love! I'm so excited! She said that Kolton is SO well behaved and such an awesome sharer! I'm so happy! It is going to be so nice to have Kolton go to nursery each week! She subbed the week before and so this week he remembered her and had no problem going!
Sunday we had a birthday dinner for me at Brady's parent's house. I got some running clothes, flip-flops and giftcards. We also got to go and see the Foy's house and the progress they've made on it!
I was folding laundry in my room one day and noticed I hadn't seen Kolton for a little bit. I go looking for him and find him hanging out on the table playing on my phone. :) I've downloaded a few games on there and he knows where to find them and how to play them. He loves it! And they are actually pretty educational too. Its great! He loves doing the puzzles on there!

I celebrated my 24th birthday on Wednesday! Its so weird to me that I'm that old. I truly still feel like I'm 19 or 20. I know its not that far off but it just doesn't seem right. Anyway, Brady cleaned the house that morning for me before he went to work so I didn't have to do any chores that day. He also made me cinnamon rolls for breakfast! Yummy!!
Kolton had fun running off the ottoman and jumping on to Brady laying on the floor. He'd belly flop right on to Brady's stomach. He's so crazy!

That afternoon I took Kolton to jumpzone to go play. We were there for over 2 1/2 hours! He loves that place! Although every time we go there at first he tells me he's scared and that we should go home but I convince him otherwise and then he's fine. The Foys and Brittney's family (whose visiting from Utah) met us there to play. It was Kade's first time there and I think he really liked it! Kade and Kolton even got to play air hockey together and they were pretty good at keeping it going!

Kolton got a little out of control going down this slide! :)

After jumpzone Kolton and I drove down to Norman to meet Brady during his dinner break at Braum's and ate dinner. Kolton always loves to meet up with Brady during the day. He always asks me if we are going to "Mcidodalds with daddy."
That night I cleaned out his plastic pool and let him play in it. Even though the water was freezing he loved it! He loves the water!

This morning Kolton went to his first movie at the movie theater!! During the summer Warren plays kid movies on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:00am for just $2 a person. This week it was Curious George so we thought this would be a good opportunity to take him to the movie theater. He was so excited and couldn't wait for it to start once we got there! He brought his stuffed George too! I didn't know how many people would come to this but figured it wouldn't be that packed so I was surprised when it was SOLD OUT! We didn't buy a ticket for Kolton because 3 and under is free but then they came in before the movie started and said that if you didn't buy a ticket for your kid then they had to sit on your lap because they had sold out and needed all the seats they could! If I would have known that I would have bought a ticket for Kolton so he didn't have to sit on our lap. Anyway, he actually watched the whole movie and had a lot of fun! I'm glad we were able to do that and that Brady had the day off so he could go with us! We bought Kolton the kids combo pack but learned that next time we'd be fine just buying a $4 drink because that was his favorite! ;) He ate the popcorn because it was there, but LOVED the "spicy water."

Liz and Dalton came to the movie too! It was good to see them! I wanted to get a picture of the two of them but you know how that goes with two 2 year olds! ;) Instead I got a shot of Dalton sharing his hat with Kolton.

For my birthday I got these shoes:
I actually bought these for myself last week but when I came home I realized that I had two right shoes. So I took them back. SO, Brady went and got them for me! He also is going to take me to go see Eclipse! I'm SO excited to go see that movie!! My parents also surprised me with a deposit into our bank account so that was exciting!! ;)

Tonight I made some Double Chocolate M&M cookies. Kolton of course helped me! He also licked off the beater! ;)
