Pre-k Program

My dad came to visit and brought Kolton a care package from him and my mom for Kolton for his broken finger.  One of the things he got was the movie Wreck it Ralph.  Since he already had it we took it to the store and he got two movies.  A Turtle's Tale and a Chuggington movie that came with a train (which he was very excited for!).  We set up his track and he played and played while he watched Chuggington. 

 On April 11th, I went and got my hair done by Angela.  It needed it! :) That night part of our dinner was grapes and strawberries.  Brady and Kolton decided to douse theirs with whipped topping.  Kolton was proud of his huge pile of whipped topping.  :)

 Since that wasn't enough sugar :) we decided to go to Cherry Berry that night for dessert.  Kolton looked so cute relaxing on the chair watching whatever it was that was on the tv and eating his ice cream. 

On Monday, April 15th, I was put on bedrest.  I had had some contractions and so Dr. Miller wanted me to rest until I came to my next doctor's appointment on the 18th.  They thought I may have a bladder infection, but that ended up coming back negative.  They measured my cervix and it was measuring 5 cm long, which is really good.  The baby looked healthy and I had lost a pound.  :) I forgot to say earlier, too, that my progesterone and beta levels were really good. I was 8 weeks and 1 day when they were taken and my beta level was 164,000.  My progesterone number was 19.33 which the nurse said is really good because they just like it to be double digits so mine was plenty high enough.   

Kolton also had a doctor's appointment that day to look at his finger.  The doctor asked him some questions and tried to get him to move his finger and squeeze things and it was hurting Kolton.  So, they placed him in a finger splint to hopefully keep his finger from moving at all. We scheduled another appointment for the 29th, hoping it would be fixed by then!  

 Now this right here just breakes my heart that I don't have any pictures from my camera.  :( Kolton had his pre-k program on April 18th.  It was just too cute to watch him.  He got to speak in the microphone and ask everyone to stand for the national anthem and pledge of allegiance.  He did so good.  It was adorable.  We had a little bit of a hard time seeing him since he was on the front row and the stage at his school is literally only about 8 inches off the ground, but it was still cute! I definitely teared up a couple of times watching my sweet little boy up there.  He's just getting too old too fast it seems. 

 Randomly Kolton brought this dump truck and sock in my room and showed me what the sun and clouds looked like outside.  It was funny. 

 He also built this temple out of pennies.  He was pretty proud of it! He also learned the first article of faith.  One Sunday afternoon we were all laying in our bed and we were talking about him going on a mission.  He said he didn't know enough about Jesus to go on a mission so we started asking him questions about Jesus and he knew all the answers to every question we asked.  He was excited to realize he knew more than he thought.  We told him he also had many years to learn more and that by the time he was old enough to go on a mission he would know plenty! Brady then taught him the first Article of Faith and Kolton still knows it. 

 Here Kolton is at the doctor on the 29th! They did more x-rays and his finger was still broken! Poor kid!

 This is a picture of me on the 29th as well.  A little bit of a belly forming.  Not that I was totally flat before I got pregnant but I could suck it in.  :)

Puppies, Sleepover, and First Doctor's Appointment

Thursday night, the 4th of April, Missy started having her puppies.  We were supposed to hang out with the Foys because Sterling was leaving the next day to move up to Omaha but we could tell something was up with Missy and we thought she'd for sure be having her puppies that night.  So, instead, they came over late that evening to say goodbye.  While they were there Missy had her first puppy.  It was sad to say goodbye to Sterling.  I was glad Brittney was staying a bit longer :) but knew that since Sterling was leaving she would be leaving sooner rather than later as well.  Poor Brady was up all night that night with Missy watching and helping her have puppies.  He came and woke me up at 5:00 I think and asked if I would take a turn and let him sleep a couple of hours before he had to go to work.  Missy ended up having 6 puppies. 

Friday, April 5th, I took Missy and the puppies to the vet.  We had the dewclaws removed and had them give Missy a shot to help clear out her uterus. 

We had Kade spend the night that night.  We took the boys to Chick-fil-a for dinner and let them play and then got a redbox movie for them and pulled the mattresses into the living room.  They had fun laughing and watching their movie and eating popcorn.  I think they fell asleep around 11 or midnight. 

 Saturday morning they had a soccer game at 9:00.  Our team got demolished.  Haha.  Afterwards Kade went with his grandma and grandpa to drive up to Omaha for a week.  We watched conference, slept, went to Academy and got Brady a backpack and then I went to the Himes while Brady was at the priesthood session of conference. 

 Sunday we watched conference and then had the Himes over in between sessions for kabobs.  They were yummy! Unfortunately, I felt super sick that day, so that was a bummer.  It was fun, though! And I love grilled food!!

Tuesday, the 9th, we had our first doctor's appointment.  I was so so nervous.  Jill babysat Kolton for us and Brady and I just went together.  I was so relieved when they started the ultrasound and you could see the heartbeat right away.  It was so exciting! The heart rate was 167 bpm.  The baby measured 8 weeks and 1 day at 1.67 cm long.  They also noticed I had a cyst on my right ovary.  It was just so great to see that little baby and that little heartbeat.  I love ultrasounds! I think it is so cool that you are able to see your baby like that!

Kolton's Broken Finger

So, on Tuesday, April 2nd, I was just laying in my bed watching tv and being lazy.  I wasn't feeling super great and just wanted to rest.  Kolton was out in the living room playing and watching tv.  At like 10:30 he came running in my room crying.  I picked him up and held him on my lap and he said his finger hurt.  I let him cry a minute and then I tried to look at his finger.  I fully thought that I'd look at it and tell him it was fine and help him stop crying and send him on his way to go play some more.  However, when I looked at his finger, it was a little crooked.  I told him to make a fist and his ring finger totally went over his pinky. So, I decided to take him to the Urgent Care.  He was so sad and I felt so bad for him.  As we were driving to the doctor I asked him again what happened and now that he was a little more calm he was able to tell me a few more details.  He said he was jumping from one couch to the other and didn't jump far enough and hit the arm of the couch and heard a "ccccrrrrr" noise.  Then I knew I was right and he had actually broken it.  haha.  So, we took him in and they x-rayed him and sure enough the bone right above the middle knuckle was broken in a u-shape on his right ring finger. 

 They didn't want to tape it or anything so they put these Velcro things on it to keep his finger from moving.  The doctor said it wasn't on a growth plate or anything and should heal just fine.  He said if Kolton was a little older and his bones weren't as soft as they were then it probably wouldn't have even broken.  He told us to go see our doctor in 3 weeks to have it checked and that it should be healed by then. 

 Poor guy was just totally exhausted from it all.  We ended up using tape and gauze on his fingers and then just using the Velcro strips when he'd shower or take a bath because they constantly fell off.  He'd wake us up during the night with nothing on his fingers and we'd have to look forever trying to find the Velcro strips.  The gauze and tape worked much better. 

That night Brady had his first night of school.  He had been doing an accounting 1 & 2 class online since January, but this was his first night of on-campus school.  It starts at 6:00 and goes until 10:00 (although I think only once has he been there until 10:00...usually he gets done about 9:00 or so).  The campus is up in Bethany so it takes him about 30-45 minutes to drive there.  We are so grateful he is able to go back to school, though and we know it will bless our family.  

Easter and a BABY

So, this is what happens when you take forever to blog...you loose all your pictures! When the tornado came through our computer was damaged and they can't get the data off of it so any pictures I have from March to May are gone.  So sad!! All I have are phone pictures now. 

Anyway, on Tuesday, March 12th I took a pregnancy test.  It was BARELY positive so Brady and I didn't get our hopes up.  They say a positive is a positive but we didn't want to get too excited in case we were just seeing lines.  ;) So, on Wednesday, March 13th I took another test and it was more positive than on Tuesday so we were pretty sure we were pregnant! We were so excited but it still just didn't seem real.  Brady and I went out to lunch together to celebrate.  I also called the doctor to make an appointment for April 9th. 

 The next week on Wednesday I went to work and Jill Himes watched Kolton for me.  He played outside the entire time he was there! I started having some cramping and spotting that day, though, and so we just ran and got some salads to-go from Mazzio's. 

Wednesday, March 27th, we had an Easter egg hunt.  It was insanely windy that day so we ended up going to Jill's house and doing it there instead.  The kids thought it was so fun! All I took pictures with is my camera so I don't have any to post.  So sad!

Thursday, the 28th, Brady and I went to Tealicious for lunch.  It was super yummy! At school that day Kolton told me that a girl in his class was sad so he told her he liked her shirt.  So sweet! So, I let him have my dessert from lunch.  :) That night after we had put Kolton to bed, Brady went in to check on him and he was still awake.  Brady asked him why he was still awake and he said "I'm just thinking about kissing Dafney (from Scooby-Doo) and Ava (a girl in his class at school)." Haha.  When Brady told me I about died.  What a boy! He's 5 years old for goodness sake!  

 The Easter bunny made a visit to Kolton's school on Friday, March 29th, and left them treats. 

 I went to work on Friday and then that night we went to Jeff and Vanessa's house so the boys could dye eggs together.  They had fun running around and being crazy and dying their eggs.  ;)

 

 

 Saturday Kolton had a soccer game.  Their team won 8 to 1.  Kolton scored 4 goals.  It was so fun to watch him out there! We also built Missy's whelping box that afternoon and then rented Taken 2 and got Chinese food.  (Its our Saturday tradition. :))

Sunday was EASTER! Kolton did super well finding all the eggs and his basket that had been hidden.  He was too cute.  The Easter bunny gave him a Wreck it Ralph and Rise of the Guardians and a hat I think (I can't remember...).  Then, Grandma and Grandpa Moffett gave him a new soccer ball and a Kevin Durant jersey.  Kolton was pretty excited to have the things he got.   

 Easter morning!

 After church and naps we went to Lilly's grave.  Kolton said "I've never seen her so that will be exciting for me!" (talking about the resurrection) "I've only seen pictures but real life is more funner." It was so sweet!

After that we headed to the Brammer's for dinner.  I wish I had more pictures, but I do remember that we had a fun, sweet Easter and I'm glad we were able to celebrate it as a family.
