Bentley's Birthday Party--Monster Style

We had Bentley's birthday party on the 20th of November.  My dad was coming in to town that week and so we decided to have the party while he was in town so he could come.  I spent all day getting everything ready for the party.  I wanted to do a Monster theme because I thought it was cute. I made a slideshow of pictures from his first year of life and had them playing on the TV in the living room for the whole party.  It is crazy when you go back and do that to see how he has changed and remember all the different feeling you had at all the different times in his life.  So much changes in their first year of life!
I made this shirt for Bentley.  I saw one kind of like it on Pinterest and thought it was cute so I tried to copy.
Here's the set-up.  That Cheetoh monster head took a long time to make! Haha.  We had a vegetable tray, cheeseball, cheetos, cake, and water.

These two pictures below those how he asks for things....Reaches out and opens and closes his hands.

Opening presents was exciting and traumatizing for him.  He loved every present he opened but then didn't want to open another because he wanted to play.  I ended up having to give him his binkie to calm him down.

Brady's parents, Jeff and Vanessa and their family, Jaycee and Adam and their family, the Himes, and my Dad came to the party.

By the time it was time to do the cake Bentley wasn't so interested.  He looked very overwhelmed with all the people standing around him and staring at him. :)

I'll let you make your own assumptions based on the following pictures whether or not he liked the cake.  Haha.

Once we cleaned him up and let him play a little he ended up finding a seat on Brady and sharing his cake and ice cream with him.

Kolton always loves when Grandpa comes and hates when he has to leave so he prolongs the good-byes as long as he possibly can.

Bentley loves all of his new toys and actually plays with them all daily.  We had such a good time at his party and were glad we got to celebrate his first year of life.
As a side note, this is the first time we have had a birthday party for one of our kids in our own home! We've had other gatherings and such but not a real party.  I am so grateful we have a home we can host a party in now!!

First Snow of the Season

It seems like several times a week Bentley wakes up from his nap prematurely and when I sit down on the couch or bed or whatever he will cuddle in and fall back asleep for an hour or more! I love the cuddle time!
Here's some updated pictures of Brady's ankle.  After a week off of work it was starting to look awesome and not swollen hardly at all!

Sunday, the 16th, we got our first snow.  We had sacrament meeting and then they dismissed us so we could get home before the roads got too bad.  People always make fun of Oklahomans for cancelling things when there just a trace of snow but what they don't get is that we get ice before the snow so even though there isn't hardly any snow, the roads are insanely slick.  We ended up get a couple inches of snow this time though.  Kolton was so excited to go out and play in it when we got home from church.

The next day school was cancelled so Kolton got to play in it even more and took advantage!

He had to camoflauge a turkey for school and decided to make it a ninja.  I think it turned out AWESOME!! Seriously, it looked so cool! He did an amazing job! He then had to write down some clues.  They put the turkeys around the room and then the kids were supposed to read their clues and the class had to find the turkey they were describing.

Bentley is One

Bentley had his one year check-up on the 13th of November.  He was 50th percentile in both height and weight.  He was 30 inches tall and 23 lb 5 oz.
