Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was so fun!! Brady had to work until 2:00 so Kolton, Bentley, and I enjoyed our morning together.  I did some last minute wrapping and started working on getting dinner ready. Kolton also wanted to Skype with my family so we did that.  It wasn't working so I ended up having to just create a new account.  Kolton always loves talking to my family on Skype.  He always gets super hyper and crazy.  :)  Kolton and I also made the sugar cookie dough we were going to use that evening.  We ended up eating dinner around 4:00.  We had a delicious ham dinner with way too much ham! Haha.  Bentley slept through the whole thing too.  Such a bummer.  It was awesome though!
After dinner we ended up making the cookies.  We were just going to make the cookies but then the Elders were running late so we ended up frosting them without them too.  Kolton loved it.  Maddi ended up coming over and doing them with us and that was fun!

Bentley found his hat and thought it was so fun to have Brady put it on and then he'd pull it off and then do it again and again! :)

Here are Kolton's cookies he made.
Kolton challenged Maddi to Indian leg wrestling.  He tried so hard but never lasted more than a second before she'd flip him.  Haha.
Kolton made special cookies for Santa and put them on his plate.
We brought the Ping-Pong table inside to the living room because it was so cold outside.  The Elders wanted to try a hand against Brady that evening.  Bentley loved watching people play and Kolton loved playing!! Bentley's head just BARELY fit safely under the table while walking around.  Like seriously, if he had socks on his head would have hit.  Haha.

It was getting late and Bentley was getting tired so we let him open his Christmas Eve present before the Elders got there.  He actually helped unwrap it and thought it was pretty fun.

Surprise! He got new jammies! :)

Once the Elders got there we made everyone open their presents right away so I could get a picture of Kolton and Bentley before we put Bentley down.  We got the Elders OU pajama pants.  We hadn't met Elder Zeyer yet (the one on the right) and so Elder Peterson gave us a funny picture of him so that we could print it out and give it to him as a joke.  He thought it was pretty funny.  And don't you love their sweaters?! Haha.  They were at the Widdison's house before ours and they made them wear Christmas sweaters to be fun and festive.  Haha.
Kolton was pretty excited to open his and really liked his pajamas.

Sweet brothers before sending Bentley to bed.  :)

We stayed up too late and played lots of ping pong and ate lots of cookies and listened to lots of Christmas music and had a good time with the Elders and Maddi.  Once they left we got ourselves ready for bed and put Kolton to bed.  We totally forgot to read the story of Christ's birth and everything.  I couldn't believe it.  Anyway, it was a wonderful Christmas Eve and we were all super excited to celebrate Christmas the next morning.

Week Before Christmas

The pictures in this post are completely out of order for some reason, but it will be fine.  :)
Bentley has been practicing his climbing skills and loves to get up on things, even if they just raise him off the ground an inch.  Haha.  One morning I didn't shut the shower door all the way apparently, because when I came out of the closet he had found his way into the shower and was having the time of his life.  :)

Friday, the 19th I think it was, we had the Himes over to decorate "gingerbread" houses.  The kids had such a blast and loved decorating them! Brady called them stables since I didn't make them correctly and the roofs didn't meet the walls.   Haha.  But the kids loved them nonetheless.  :)

Our boys looked so stinking handsome on the Sunday before Christmas!! I couldn't stand it! They are just the cutest!

For Kolton's birthday I wanted to make him a Thunder blanket.  I spent many a days working on it.  I wanted to make sure all the squares were exactly the right size and that they all lined up perfectly because I wanted it to turn out and look nice.  Overall, I'm happy with how it turned out.  I messed up on the binding, but all well.  My friend Sarah Landrum came and helped me tie it and thank goodness she did because I don't think I would have finished it before Kolton came home from school if she hadn't.

Kolton's teacher helped them make these snowmans that are made to be the exact height of each kid.  They are so cute!
On Friday I surprised Kolton with pizza for his class for his birthday.  It was a total last minute decision that morning to do it and I am glad I did.  He thought it was SO cool and the look he had when he saw me with all those pizzas was just priceless!

We got introduced to the crazy helium app and the kids had a blast doing it.
Brother selfie! These two are too cute together.

One night our elf drew a mustache on Kolton.  Haha.
The Sunday before Christmas in Primary they did a nativity.  Kolton was asked to be an innkeeper.  These were his lines: "There's NO room!".....(joseph begged) "Ok, I guess you could stay in the stable." He did AWESOME at it even though he was so stinking nervous.  I was also asked to sing for it and sang "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing!" It was fun to participate in that.
Monday night my dad came in to town and we exchanged presents.  He met us at Teds and we ate dinner and then he came over and gave us presents from Utah and we gave him presents to take back to Utah.

Tuesday night we went to the Downs Family Christmas Light show.  Bentley fell asleep on the way down there and slept all the way through it.  Haha.
Tuesday we also had Kolton's end of season soccer party.  We all met at Braums and ate dinner and then they gave out medals.  Kolton had fun sitting with all his teammates and chatting it up.  It was fun listening to little boys talk.
Left to Right: Beckett, Kolton, Miles, Gabe, Brody, and Evan (we were missing two players, Brody F. and Nolan)
