Past Couple of Weeks

This kid had a cold and would not sleep all night but once morning came he was out! Haha. 

 THIS is what happens when you forget you put a pot on the stove to boil and an hour later you hear clicking noises and come to find all the water has boiled out.  Oops! Luckily, I was able to clean it up and it looks good as new!

 Kolton was star student of the week and got to fill out this poster to hang up in the classroom.  He did such a good job!

I love watching Kolton figure out his own style.  As of late, all he wants to wear are basketball shorts, tshirts, and nike socks. 

 I watched Jaycee and Adam's boys on Friday, the 4th of September since Jaycee flew out early to go to Maddi's wedding.  I made the kids ramen.  This was Bentley's first time to eat it and it was hilarious to watch as he'd try and slurp it in.  Haha.  He liked it, though!

 We went and picked Brady up from work and took him to the airport.  Its always so sad to say good-bye. 

Saturday Vanessa and I took our kids to Whitewater.  I thought it would be packed since it was Labor Day weekend, but it totally wasn't! It was almost empty and it was so nice!

 I told Brady he had to take pictures this time (he didn't at Dylen's) and he did and sent them to me! :)

 Saturday afternoon we went to Lowes and bought some new mulch for the flowerbed and got some flowers to plant in there too so there'd be some color.  My two boys pushed the carts for me.  Such manly men. :)

 Sunday Brady's flights were crazy.  When he booked his flight, he picked Delta because it has non-stop flights from OKC to SLC.  Well they ended up canceling the non-stop on Sunday and he was flying to Minnesota and then to Oklahoma.  He had a 30 minute layover in Minnesota.  Well he got on his plane in UT and they sat in it forever because something was broken on it.  They finally decided they couldn't fly the plane and got everyone off.  At this point there was no way Brady was going to make his connecting flight.  The next flight out of Minnesota to Oklahoma didn't leave until 7:45 that night and got to Oklahoma at 10:05. I was so mad.  He was supposed to be home at 3! He talked to the people at the desk and he got the last seat on a plane to Dallas and then flew from Dallas to Oklahoma and got home at 5.  Hallelujah! We were all so happy to see him!

 Bentley came out holding George in a blanket and told me he was his baby.  Haha.  It was too funny! So I took a picture of him.  He wanted to see it, of course, after I took it and then threw his binkie on the ground and wanted me to take another picture.  Haha.  It was funny. 

Friday night, the 17th, the Foys came into town.  We only got to see them for like 30 minutes, though, because we had already made plans with some friends to go to dinner and a movie.  We had Kade stay with Kolton at our house with the babysitter but us adults didn't get much play time. :( Kolton and Kade had a BLAST and I am so glad they got to play.  Brady and I had fun with the Landrums.  We saw Everest in IMAX 3D.  It was an intense movie, and truly, an awful, sad movie! Haha.  True stories are always so sad.   

We drove down to Texas this past Saturday to go see the Himes on Andrew's birthday.  Kolton was pretty excited to see them.  We were interested to see if Bentley would recognize them.  We got up at 5:30 and headed out the door at 6:30.  We pulled into their driveway right at 10:00. 

 At about 10:15 we headed to Andrew's birthday party at the park.  The kids rode bikes and played around and then we ate cake and ice cream.  It was super muggy! But everyone had a good time.  It was so great to see the Himes and chat with them! Bentley totally recognized them but wasn't too keen on Jill holding him or anything.  haha.  He did follow Lilly around, though, and loved being with her. 

 We got home from the party and relaxed for about 30 minutes and then left for Andrew's soccer game.  It was so fun to watch him play! He did awesome! But let me tell you, it was HOT!! Like HOT! I couldn't believe it.  Haha.  After Andrew's game we went home and were there for a bout 45 minutes, ate some lunch, and then left for Lilly's game. 

 After Lilly's game we ordered pizza and were able to spend a couple of hours at their house catching up and hanging out like old times.  Seeing them sure did make us miss them even more!!

 Driving home that night was a struggle!! We could barely stay awake! Even though we got home at 11:30, it felt like 3:30! Haha.  Luckily, Bentley slept in until 8:30 Sunday morning so we were able to catch up on some sleep.  Sunday Kolton had his primary program practice and memorized his part for it and did awesome.  We then went to Brady's parent's house for dinner and then went home and went to bed.  Haha. 

Monday we did FHE on the Proclamation to the Family.  We then went to the park and Kolton ran around it to "build up his strength" for his game this weekend.  I ran to Target to get some ice cream and then we came home and ate brownies and ice cream. 

 Kolton and Brady played a nerf gun game that Brady played with his companions on their mission.  They had a blast! It was fun to watch!

 Kolton ended up with a battle wound.  Haha. 

 Tuesday night we had Kolton's soccer practice.  They scrimmaged against a girl team and beat them 4-0.  Kolton scored 2 of the goals. 

This morning I sat outside and let Bentley play after Kolton headed to school.  He was fascinated with this construction vehicle cleaning up the bricks and junk from the yard of the house being built across the street. It was too cute!  

Brothers and Suckers

When Grandma came she brought the boys some Mickey suckers.  They have gotten good use! :)

 And then this is from another day, but Bentley sure can make a mess with just a little piece of food...seriously! :)

Kolton

Brady and I have always known we were lucky to be parents to this kid but it is becoming more and more apparent as he gets older.  He truly is someone special.  He has such a strong desire to do what is right and is so worried and concerned about other's feelings and making sure everyone has a friend.  He is well-behaved and does what is expected of him.  We get emails and texts and messages from teachers and leaders telling us how amazing he is and how obedient and kind and smart he is.  There really is just something amazing about him.  Not even talking about how athletically talented he is...that is a whole other story! He recently has started liking to read more and has been loving reading about different kinds of airplanes and about space.  He is doing awesome on his A.R. tests and rocking 2nd grade so far! We just love him. 

Bentley

One morning Bentley wanted to play outside with some cars.  He asks me every day if we can go outside.  He loves it out there.  Some days I oblige more than others depending on the weather.  This morning it was beautiful out there.  He grabbed the bin of cars and kept telling me to "watch." I love the way he says "watch." Its almost more like "wash" and the way his little mouth moves to say it is just precious.  He is talking more and more these days and just seems so grown up to me sometimes.  We have said this for a long time and it is still true today, when he's in the mood to be sweet, he is absolutely the sweetest, most well mannered 22 month-old boy you'll meet.  (Flip side is, when he's not...he's not...haha) Seriously, though, he says "thank-you" and "sorry" like no one's business.  Its adorable. 

Maddi's OK Reception

Maddi went through the temple on the last Friday of August here in Oklahoma.  It was nice she did that here so we could be there for it.  Taylor's parents came too so we were able to meet them as well.  Then they had their reception the next night. 

Just a few pictures from the reception Taylor and Maddi had here in Oklahoma.  It was nice to have Brady at this reception to help with the kiddos and have someone to talk to.  ;)

This is how the guys (and probably everyone felt) by the time the reception was beginning to end.  Haha.  

End of Summer Party and 1st Day of School

Here are some pictures from my camera from Kolton's little last minute party he had with some friends.  He had an absolute blast! It was fun to watch him have fun with his friends. 

Kolton ended up reinjuring his hip at the party so I made an appointment for him to see the doctor the following week.  Turns out he had torn the muscle that attaches to the pelvic bone and had twisted his pelvis pretty significantly.  We had him adjusted and he had some electrotherapy done a few times.  He also had some exercises he was supposed to do at home to strengthen that muscle.  He wasn't allowed to ride his scooter, jump on the trampoline, or play soccer or anything that exerts a lot of energy.  Just last week (the middle of September) he was able to go back to soccer practice.  Still can't jump on the trampoline or ride his scooter though. 
 And then here are a few pictures from the first day of school.  These boys are so cute. 

 And every year we have to get a picture of his new shoes.  Haha.  I love it. 

 He is such a sweet boy and has really enjoyed the 2nd grade which makes me so happy!
