I'm not exactly sure on the dates of everything that we did in March but it was a full month.
The missionaries started a new initiative where they wanted everyone to post pictures of them with the missionaries on their social media accounts every time they came over. The Elders had already left to go to an appointment after dinner and Brady and Kolton had left to go to soccer practice so it was just me and Bentley with the sisters but we took the picture and posted it. :) We love having the missionaries in our home and try to sign up to feed them about once a month or so. It is so great to spend time with them and build a relationship with them.
In March we bought a bike for Brady to use. We thought it would help him to get some exercise that wouldn't put any pressure or much impact pressure on his feet and bother his nerve damage. The boys played on it more than Brady and I used it. Now Shawn and Mckenzie have it. Haha.
Kolton got his bear at pack meeting. So they had us do the traditional pinning ceremony.
Every morning we have to wake Kolton up really early so we have time to read scriptures before Brady heads to work. So he then has about an hour of sitting around after he gets ready for school. A lot of mornings he'll spend it catching up on the basketball game from the night before that he didn't get to watch because it was too late. He's obsessed. :)
I took Bentley with me to go vote in the primary election. I went to the wrong location first and they had all sorts of treats to eat but I didn't grab anything because I figured my location would have some too but sadly they did not so then I was just bummed I didn't grab any at the first location. Haha. But I voted and Bentley provided moral support. Unfortunately the person I voted for did not win (Ted Cruz).
Bentley is obsessed with anything peanut butter. For a while there he was eating at least one apple a day with peanut butter to dip it in. One day he decided it would be a good idea to wipe his fingers on the back of his shirt instead of using the towel I had given him. Haha.
We finally got a picture of Jesus up in our home. I love it. I love Simon Dewey's paintings and depictions of the Savior. And I'm so happy we finally have a picture of Jesus up in our home. We have it up on the wall in between the coat closet and the pantry in the main part of our home.
We finally got our new (new) furniture the first week of March. We are really happy with it and love that we ended up with a recliner too! Even if you can't sit in it and watch tv it still gets plenty of use.
We went to one of Pierson's games the beginning of March. It is always so fun to watch people you know play sports! The boys had fun cheering for their cousin and hanging out with their other cousins. :)
We went to the Alviso's property and did some shooting. I did really good, if I do say so myself. When I was shooting the AR-15 I kept hitting this little target over and over and over. I was pretty proud. Haha. I wasn't as good with the handgun but I'll get there. :) Brady had a blast. He loves doing stuff like that.
My dad came to visit on the 8th I believe. They boys had fun playing outside with him. Kolton always gets people to play at least one game of "PIG" with him. Haha.
You probably can't see this picture very well but I went into Bentley's room to check on him in the morning (after a night of taking him back to his bed several times) and found him half hanging out of his bed with his feet on the floor. Haha. I can't complain...he slept "in" his bed that night. :)
On the 12th of March Kolton had his first soccer game of the season. It was a wet one but it was fun to watch. His team won 7-1 and Kolton scored 4 goals. It was awesome and we are so proud of him! Everyone was proud of him! Some people even joked that he needs to work harder with only 4 goals. Haha.
We had to buy him some new headphones for school because the other ones he had didn't work very well. That afternoon, he totally fell asleep on the floor in our room with the headphones on but not plugged into anything. Haha. His game must have really worn him out because he never takes naps!!
Brady even fell asleep too. Haha.
That evening we went and got our traditional Saturday night Chinese food and some redbox movies. After we ate dinner we set up some blankets on the floor in the living room and let the boys eat ice cream while we watched the movie. It was so cute to watch them and they loved it (especially Bentley).
Brady also took Bentley on a dirt bike ride. It was hilarious to watch Brady on that thing.
We had such a fun weekend and I was so sad to see it end. I love weekends like that...full of fun and love.
That next Monday was the start of Spring Break. We went to Martin Nature Park with some friends. It was so fun! The boys loved "hiking" around and exploring and the weather was absolutely perfect.
Tuesday evening Brady didn't have school and so we went fishing at this local pond. He has been trying to get some luck and catch some fish since our camping trip and hasn't had much luck. We didn't catch any that night either but it was nice to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather and the great outdoors. Haha. I loved watching Kolton and Bentley together. They were just so darn sweet to each other. Love times like that.
Wednesday we went to the Science Museum with Joni. It was oh so crowded there but the kids had fun and I had fun chatting with Joni, as usual!
Thursday evening we went to Elevation with Jeff and Vanessa and Sarah and her boys. Brady jumped with the kids but I had to stay and watch Bentley so I didn't jump.
Friday we went and saw Zootopia with the Landrums at the Warren. Got some popcorn (which Bentley spilled within seconds haha but we were able to salvage a lot of it) and the Landrums brought some candy to share. Kolton really liked it. Bentley wasn't super interested in it after about 30 minutes but I never had to leave with him, so that is good! :)
I got this hoodie for Christmas and Sarah really liked it so Jason bought it for her for her birthday. We ended up both wearing it to the movies that day haha so we had to snap a picture. :)
OU had a game that night in the March Madness tournament I believe so Kolton and I were ready to cheer them on. :)
On Saturday the city of Moore had their Easter Egg hunt. It was SO cold that morning but we bundles up and went anyway. They split you up into age groups so Brady took Kolton to his field and I took Bentley to his.
Bentley was in the 0-2 year old age group. That one is funny because most of the kids don't know exactly what they should be doing so they are really timid about picking up the candy. They always tell parents not to pick it up but inevitably they do (especially in this age group). Bentley was so sweet and asked before every piece of candy he picked up if he could get another one. It was sweet. After a few he said "all done" but I convinced him to pick up a few more. Brady said in Kolton's group it was a mad dash for the candy and it was all gone in a matter of seconds.
I forgot about Kolton's spring school pictures so he wasn't dressed cute haha but they still turned out cute just because it is him!
I made truffles for an auction at church for the scout's fundraiser. Bentley was dying to eat some of the chocolate as I made them but was able to wait somewhat patiently until I was done. But when I was done he dug in real quick. :)
We met Brady for lunch later that day. It is always so fun to see him during the day.
We tried so hard to soak in as much time outside in March as we could. The weather was just perfect. I love the weather that you can wear a light jacket or hoodie in. Its just perfect!
The Friday night before Easter Brady and I went out on a date with the Landrums and then they came over to our house to hang out for a little bit. When they left Sarah forgot her purse so we called them to tell them and so they turned around to come get it. So Brady walked outside to meet them out there with it. When he walked out he saw a couple of teenage girls run and hide behind a car that was parked in front of our house. Then a few seconds later a lady from our ward stood up and said "go back inside! We are egging your house." Haha. Brady didn't know what to think and couldn't tell at first who it was but he went inside anyway. Haha. Turns out they left a bunch of plastic eggs with candy in them around the yard and a note on the door. It was so sweet and such a cute idea. The boys had a blast looking for eggs Saturday morning.
Saturday evening we had Dalton over to watch some basketball and hang out. Kolton and Bentley convinced him to head outside and jump on the tramp for a bit and they had such a good time. Kolton loves hanging out with teenagers.
