On January 24th, Bentley laughed for the first time! I did the same thing with him that I had done with Kolton...I'd move his arms real fast above his head and pin them to the ground and say "Gotcha...You're stuck!" It was so cute! I had Kolton video tape me doing it with my phone so we could have it on tape. It was adorable!
Kolton finally got out and tried his skateboard he got for Christmas at the end of January. And, not surprisingly, he picked it up fast! He is so talented. He had a bunch of fun going back and forth on the driveway and then eventually went down the driveway. It was fun to watch! I just brought Bentley out in the rock and play and he just sat in the garage and enjoyed the fresh air too.
One night Brady was working on homework so Kolton, Bentley, and I cuddled on the bed and watched the Thunder game. Bentley loves to watch basketball. Even at just a couple months old.
The first Sunday in February church was canceled for snow and ice again. It was canceled the first Sunday in January too! We enjoyed our guilt-free relaxing day.
Cousins!! Jaycee had to have surgery so her and her family moved in to Brady's parents house too. It was a crazy and full house but Kolton thought it was fun to have cousins to play with!
Kolton wanted to go to the park in The Apples one day so I decided we'd walk there and he could ride his bike. Its only like a 2 minute car ride so I thought it would be great to walk. Bentley loved riding in the stroller but it was longer than I thought and we were on a main road with no sidewalk for half of it so that was kind of scary. People hardly go around you so its nerve racking for a car to go past you going 45 mph! We made it though, but didn't do it again. Haha.
Cute Bentley all dressed up on the 10th of February, so he is almost 3 months old.
Took Kolton to Andy Alligators on the 12th of February. He just loves that place!
We did cookies and Star Wars valentines this year. Kolton had fun writing his name on all of them and then when he brought home the valentines from all his friends from school he thought it was so cool to go through and see what type of valentine each person picked out.
Had Andrew over one evening and the boys played and played. They took advantage of some bubbles, climbed trees, and rode their bikes. These boys love to be outside.
Here's pictures of our house making progress... They had just finished the stain and paint. These were taken on February 21st.
We decided we wanted to paint our bed black. We've wanted to do it for years, in fact almost since when we bought it. We had a limited budget to buy the bed, mattress, and bedding when we got married and ended up buying literally the cheapest wood bed we could find so its been a long time coming. We never had a good time to do it and since we weren't using it, we thought now would be the best time.
It has become our tradition to have pancakes for dinner on Tuesday nights since Brady is at school. I don't feel like making dinner for just Kolton and I and then Brady doesn't like breakfast foods for dinner so it works out perfectly. This night, though, was Kolton's first time to do them himself. He mixed the mix and poured the batter on the pan and flipped them! He did awesome and was so proud of himself.
On the 26th of February my dad was in town for work and met up with us for dinner at Ted's. Kolton always loves it when he comes to town and can't wait to see him.
This is how tummy time goes in our house. Haha. Bentley just couldn't careless if he was pushing himself up or not. He just turns his head to the side and lays there like a bum. :)
Bought this bike from a friend of a friend for Brady. It has a few things that need to be fixed but it was a good deal for a bike. Brady is excited to use it and go on bike rides with Kolton.
We discovered City Bites has some pretty good and very large cookies! Had to go try them out one night!
Then that same night Kolton got in trouble and had to write sentences for the first time. "I will not argue." My favorite is how on the first one he forgot the word "not" so it said "I will argue" and then he added the word "not" at the end. Haha.
Just a picture of our studly little Thunder fan. He was allowed to wear a hat to school and he rocked it.
He had to make a leprechaun trap for school and he did awesome making it by himself. I loved watching him work on it and think of things he could do. His design was inspired by pinterest. :)
Had to document Bentley sitting, not being held, and not crying! Haha.
First popsicles of the season with his friend Joseph.
I can't remember what we did this day but Kolton swore he wasn't tired at all but then totally crashed in the middle of eating a carrot. Haha.
A perfect picture of perfect little boys.
We spend so much time outside watching this kid play. He especially loves to play basketball and will for hours!
Last day of spring break we went to Jumpzone and picked Ryley up from daycare. It was probably the lamest jumpzone experience we've had. Haha. Ryley was scared of the toys and I felt so bad for him. I had Bentley so I couldn't take him through them to show them they weren't scary so he never really got to play much and then Kolton's mouth was hurting him pretty bad and so he sat by me a lot complaining that he was in pain. Haha.
Went to the Himes for Brady to help Mark build their chicken coop. We went out to watch them cut wood and put these ear plugs on Bentley so the saw wouldn't freak him out. Too cute not to share.
He seriously is the best big brother. Like I'm not even kidding. I don't know how we got so lucky!
Its so fun to have him talk to you. Brady loves to it with him during lunch everyday and just talk away with him.
He's starting to make some progress with his tummy time. Haha. You can tell he is using every muscle he has to get that head up. :) These were taken on March 11, so he is 4 months old.
March 28th we closed on our house!! Yay! The day finally came! They had to lay the sod and do the fence and a few other things after we signed the papers but we could move in! We spent that day sealing all the flours and the tile work in the showers and stuff and then moved over some of our stuff and set up our bed.
Bentley was super excited to be in the new house! :)
Saturday night we stayed out our house. It was awesome! We loved it! So happy and grateful to be in it...and just to have it! Sometimes I still can't believe we live in this house. A brandnew, nice house! It is just awesome! Some things some people just wouldn't understand...like having a garbage disposal, and a dishwasher that doesn't take up the use of your sink, and a garage to park your cars in AND keep things in, and having the laundry in the house instead of in the garage. Its awesome!
On April 2nd Kolton lost his first tooth. He was eating oatmeal for breakfast and it just came out. He was super excited to put it under his pillow that night. And lucky for him the toothfairy came and brought him a two dollar bill. He thought that was pretty cool.
We got his bunkbeds on the 3rd of April and set them up that evening. They had a ton of steps in them but it wasn't too labor intensive. We tried to cheat the instructions and make it so the warning label would be at the foot of the bed and facing in so you wouldn't see it when you walk in the room but we made it even worse than it would have been had we just followed the instructions. Haha. All well. :) Kolton loves his bed and sleeps on the top bunk because he thinks it is more fun. We thought for sure he'd have a hard time and be scared at first to sleep in his room since for the last 4 months he had been sleeping in the same room as us and we were in a strange place for him but he didn't seem bothered at all. He did awesome and slept really well.
We got to watch conference in our new home! It was awesome!
Bentley started getting these rashes a week or two after we moved in to our house and got our dogs back. We determined it was because he was allergic to the dogs. We found Missy a new home and since then he has been pretty good! It was really sad to say goodbye to Missy, though. She was our best behaved dog we've owned and we just loved her. She has a good home now, though.
We love the bathtub in our bathroom and so does Kolton. Haha. He always loves to bathe in our bathroom instead of his. :)
Kolton lost his second tooth on the 8th of April. He actually pulled it out himself! I was so impressed!
And finally, Bentley found his feet on April 9th! Yay!
