Good times in June

June 1st we worked on taking pictures of the puppies.  That always takes a couple hours to make sure you get enough good ones of each puppy.  Especially at this age where they are walking and moving around.  

Anyway, while we were out there Kolton was playing with his cars in the driveway and so I took a few pictures of him with the sun setting in the background.  It looked pretty cool.  

 The puppies kept going over to Bentley and trying to see what he was up to.  Usually Bentley is less than enthusiastic to see them but this evening he thought it was so cool to touch and see them.  

On my birthday we went to the pool for the first time.  Kolton started his swim lessons that week and so we would go to the pool at 10:20 for his lessons and then we could start swimming at 11:00.  Bentley loved playing in the water and just sat and splashed and splashed.  It was so adorable! 

 Brady had a half day that day and so we went to the mall to do some shopping.  We ended up buying Kolton and Brady some matching KDs.  Kolton needed new basketball shoes and Brady had been trying to find him some KDs that weren't pink or purple or something so Kolton was pretty excited when they found these and that Brady could get some too.   

 Bentley got his first tooth to come through on June 4th.  It was his bottom left tooth (if looking at him).  Then on June 7th he got his second tooth.  It was the one right next to the other one on the bottom.  

 I love when I look in Kolton's room and find him reading or playing or something.  Its just so sweet.  This morning he had finished vacuuming and then decided to pull out his books and work on reading them.  So sweet.  

 He looked so studly in his new church pants we had to take a picture.  

 June 8th we went to Brady's parent's house to celebrate my birthday.  We ate dinner and then headed outside to play.  Bentley got to experience the swing for the first time and he loved it! 

 Monday, June 9th, Kolton had his first basketball game of the summer.  He started out really shy and timid but by the end of the game was back to his normal aggressive self.  He did awesome and had a lot of fun.  

We also started Bentley's sleep training that night.  We put him down in his crib awake and just let him cry it out.  I think he cried for about 30 minutes.  Brady and I just went in our room and shut the door and watched a tv show.  We had the monitor on but the sound off.  The second night I put him down and he just screamed and screamed (not cried) so I went in there after ten minutes and gave him his binky and patted him and gave him his blanket and then left the room.  About 15 minutes later he was asleep.  Then the third night he only cried for a few minutes and went to sleep.  By the end of the week he was hardly crying or whining at all when you'd put him down and he would just sleep.  Magically he started sleeping through the night after that.  June 13th he slept 11 hours straight! It was amazing! And then he started taking better naps.  He had been taking 20-30 minute naps but once he started sleeping better through the night he started taking 45 minute to hour and a half naps.  It made my days so much easier and he was so much happier.  

June 10th we went to the zoo.  We went to swim lessons but it started sprinkling and the water was freezing so we thought it would be a great day for the zoo! So, we headed home and changed as fast as we could and headed to the zoo.  It was perfect weather for it and we had a blast! 

 After the zoo Andrew came home with us to play.  He and Kolton set up the car track outside and played for hours with it! They are obsessed with cars and driving them all around and coming up with different games and things to do with them.

 June 12th the Botanical Gardens were having a lady bug release event.  We went with the Widdisons and Kolton thought it was so so cool! Just recently has he become ok with picking up bugs and was excited to let all the lady bugs out.  He was very methodical with where he put each one that he got in his little cup.  It was fun! 

 The morning of June 18th I was taking more pictures of the puppies.  Kolton hadn't woken up yet and so I just had Bentley in the bumbo while I was snapping away.  He was getting bored when Kolton finally woke up and came out to play.  Bentley was so excited to see him and so I put him on the tramp with Kolton.  Kolton would just bounce slightly and Bentley would squeal and laugh.  He loved it! It was so cute to watch!
