Golf

Last weekend we went to Andy Alligators with Kolton. They were having this tiny community fair thing and we thought Kolton might enjoy it.
They had one free ride you could go on. Kolton just laughed and laughed while on it. He thought it was a lot of fun!

We decided to go miniature golfing. Kolton is too young to really be able to do it correctly, but he went through all the holes and did it his own way!
He would use the club as a bat essentially, and just hit the ball.

So, Brady helped him a couple of time hit it the correct way so that his ball would actually go in the direction of the hole. :)

He soon learned that you "won" if you put the ball in the hole, so he liked doing that. He was so funny...He would walk over to the hole, say "ready, set, go" and then put the ball in the hole and yell "I made it!"

Him saying "I made it!"

This was the first hole we did. He had no idea what was going on or what he was supposed to do. :)

Movie?

"So, you want to watch a movie? Ok. On me? Uhh...ok. I don't see how this really benefits me, but..."Actually, I never agreed to this. He brought the movie, I put it on my stomach and he just climbed on. This is NOT going to be a reoccurring event! :)

Week of Grandma and Halloween

We have had such a BUSY week!! It has been so much fun though! After playgroup on Tuesday, and a nap, we went to the airport to go pick my mom up who came to visit from Utah. We were so excited! She got to come here and see Kolton trick-or-treat for the first time!

Her flight got delayed a little because they had to de-ice the play in Utah before they could take off (which makes me laugh because it was like 60 here!) so Kolton got to play around a little in the airport. Then, when we found her (we missed her coming out and going down to the baggage claim) he was so excited! It was so cute! Look at them!
And yes, I went completely collage happy with this post because I had SOOO many pictures I wanted/needed (yes needed :)) to post that it would have taken forever and this post would have been ridiculously long!

Kolton got a new toy from Grandma while she was here. It was a perfect fit! Kolton and cars. These pictures make me laugh because it totally looks like Christmas morning to me!

Then, on Wednesday we went to go find a pumpkin. I was a little disappointed because there wasn't much to pick from. No pumpkin was actually decent, but this one would do. Kolton loved the pumpkin before and after we carved it, but not while we were carving it! He was very grossed out by the insides. It was funny, though, because after we were done and put the pumpkin out on the porch he told us over and over what we did with the pumpkin. His story would include talk of the table, of yucky stuff on our hands, Daddy cutting it, repeated three times! ;)

Wednesday night Brady and I had to drive out to Harrah to get a lady's signature. When we registered Jewel, one of our great danes, we wrote the wrong date on the papers. So, when we went to register the litter, according to AKC, we didn't have here when she would have conceived so they wouldn't let us register the litter. So, we had to find the lady who had her before us and ask her to sign a paper that had the correct date. Anyway, we didn't get ahold of her until 7:30 or so that night so my mom said she would stay and watch Kolton while we went out to Harrah. Kolton had so much fun with her while we were gone! It was great to be able to leave him with her! We ended up getting a little confused/lost and then was at this lady's house for like 40 minutes or some crazy amount like that! Kolton would NOT have had fun!

On Thursday since it was all rainy and cold outside we thought it would be cool to let Kolton use his finger painting set that Jeff and Vanessa got him for Christmas last year. This was the first time I was getting it out just because I never wanted to have to deal with the mess by myself. However, it actually wasn't hardly messy at all. Kolton was sure to be neat with it. He didn't want to finger paint, but he really enjoyed painting with the brushes!

These videos make me laugh! I didn't get it on tape the first time, but when he first started painting, he immediately went to eat the paint off the paint brush. Where he got the idea you eat it, I don't know! :) Then later, when he got it on his fingers, he tried to eat it again! Then, when Brady was painting the paint on his hand, Kolton enjoyed it and even giggled a little, but once he was done putting his hand print on the page, he wanted it off!

We also went to lunch on Thursday with Brady's parents at Chilis. Kolton had a pretty big meltdown, after he bit his tongue (what I think happened). He was sitting there eating chips and queso and all of a sudden just shrieked out in pain and started pulling at his mouth. I thought at first the queso might have been too hot for him, but he had been eating it all along, so I'm guessing he had to have bit his tongue or cheek or something. He does something everytime we go out to eat with anyone. When it is just us, things seem to go very smoothly, but when anyone else is involved, he has some sort of issue! Why is it always that way??

Friday was the ward Halloween party. After dinner they did a costume parade on the stage. I asked Kolton if he wanted to go with the other kids and he said "YEAH!" and jumped off my laugh and went and got in line. I couldn't believe he actually did it! He walked across the stage and everything! He even was stopped and smiled and waved! As his mom, I thought it was darling!
He went trunk-or-treating with Brady, Madison, and my mom while I stayed at our car and passed out candy. He caught on pretty quick that if he said "trick or treat" and held up his bucket he would get candy. Brady said afterward he would yell "thank you" as they walked away.

He was so excited to show me his candy! Its so fun to be a mom to a little boy!!

On Halloween, Brady went to the OU game with Sterling, Brenon, and Austin. Brittney came over with Kade, at dinner with us, and then we went trick or treating. We took pictures of the boys before we left. They were so cute in their costumes and being so silly!! They are seriously being raised as cousins! Its so awesome!

Kolton and Kade give each other knuckles and high fives. We got them to do it during our little photo shoot and snapped a picture of them giving "knuckles." It makes me laugh because it totally looks like they are punching each other!

We went trick-or-treating in a neighborhood down the street. It took us a VERY long time to go down like a street and a half total! ;) We were out there for an hour. It was so funny to take them around. They needed so much guidance from house to house. They were confused why they were leaving one house with candy to go walk down the sidewalk to another house. It was a blast! By the time we were done, both of us were holding our kids and their buckets.

As we were walking, my mom looked around to see where Kolton was and he was a couple feet behind us playing with a fire hydrant. How funny! So, we had to take a picture to capture the moment! A fireman with his fire hydrant! At one house, one little boy said to Kolton, "Are you going to save us?" It was cute!

Isn't this just THE sweetest picture you've seen? I love it! I told him to fold his arm like he was a little punk, but he did this. It was cute! And then proceeded to say "chrrrriiiissst. amen."
Grandma left on Sunday to go back home. We were sad to see her go. Kolton screamed as we left the airport. He had so much fun with her! She watched movies with him, tickled his knee, came with him every time he said "mhere," was there every time he woke up from his nap, even went to bed with him one night. He loved playing with her and we look forward to seeing her again sometime soon!
We had a really fun week and enjoyed all the fun Halloween activities! Kolton loved trick or treating, knocking on peoples doors, saying tick or treat, picking a sucker every chance he had, and yelling thank you and bye as we walked away. Oh, and OU won on Saturday so the boys had fun too! :)

Halloween Playgroup

We had another Halloween playgroup this year. It was fun! We all brought our favorite (or easy to make) treats and let the kids play and have a good time! It was held at Whitney's house in Edmond and it was great for the kids to play! Kolton was such a sweetheart and loved all the food!
This year for Halloween he's going to be a fireman. He thinks it is fun to run around in his costume. I think he looks cute!
The kids were pretty much how they were last year! It makes me laugh! We thought since they were older they'd be a little more cooperative so us moms could do our photo shoot! However, they had other ideas! We tried taking their pictures on the couch inside and they wanted NOTHING to do with that. So, we moved outside in hopes that they would enjoy that a little more! Kolton loved sitting next to Brigham (Tucker's little brother who is 3 weeks old). He loved looking at Brigham and being sweet to him.

We asked Kolton to help Troy while we were taking pictures. We told him to hold his hand so that Troy could stand up. It was so fun, as Kolton's mom, to watch him try really hard to carry out this assignment! He was so concerned with Troy and how he was sitting or standing or if he was crying...I just loved watching it all play out! When Troy would sit down Kolton would try really hard to help him stand up without being too forceful. He kind of took on the job of being his little friend and I thought it was just too darn cute!
I am so excited to take him Trick-or-Treating this weekend! Grandma came in to town to spend this Halloween with us (post to come later with lots of pictures, as always!) and Kolton has loved every second! We have the ward party tomorrow with trunk or treating and then Saturday night we are taking him trick-or-treating while Brady goes to the OU football game. It's going to be a fun weekend!

Red River Rivalry 2009

This weekend we headed down to Dallas, TX for the OU/TX game. We left Friday morning and drove down to our hotel which was actually in Addison, TX. We stayed in a Hyatt, which actually wasn't what we expected, but still very nice. (When we asked them why it wasn't like what was on the internet they said that on their website they have posted what was going to happen after they renovated the place, but they never renovated it, so...) It actually had a lot of room for all of us to move around in. It was nice!
Sterling gave Brady his other ticket to the game, so him and Sterling got to go together! They sat on the 7th row in the endzone.
We went to the Galleria, which was really close to our hotel, on Friday night. I've been there before, but I had forgotten how HUGE it actually is! It is by far the biggest mall I've ever been to!

Kolton thought it was fun to watch all the people ice skate. I thought it was cool how they had the OU and TX symbols beamed onto the rink.

They also had a pretty big play area for the kids to play on. Kolton just ran and ran around it. He had a blast playing there!

This picture makes me laugh. I wanted to take a picture of Brady and Kolton so we stopped and Kolton refused to look at me to take the picture. He kept turning his head or closing his eyes. After several tries, Brady decided no more, and the second he said that Kolton snapped his head around and smiled. It was funny! So, I got my picture! ;)

I thought it was funny that Friday night both of the boys wore orange pajamas. Oh dear! What were we thinking??

A couple in our ward was going to the game, so they asked Brittney and I to watch their youngest son for them. We gave all the boys suckers and they stood there for a few minutes just sucking their suckers and bouncing against the wall/cupboard/stove behind them. It was funny! We actually got all the boys down for naps to where they all overlapped, so we had an hour where they were all asleep! It was great!

Kolton and Kade in their OU attire. The boys would get so excited when Brittney and I would scream and cheer for OU. It was great!

Brady and Sterling ended up getting sunburned at the game. This is right after Brady and Sterling got home.

Saturday night we went to a restaurant called Texas de Brazil. It was yummy! It was the kind of restaurant where they bring skewers of meat around and you take what you want. They also had an awesome salad bar! We'll have to go there again--maybe next time as a date!

This is obviously back at home. We came home on Sunday morning. It is nice to be back home and sleep in your own bed!
Kolton loves cars! I was wanting to get him the Cars movie for either his birthday or Christmas this year but wasn't sure how interested he'd be. Brady's mom rented Cars from the library and Kolton has LOVED watching it! So, I'm definitely going to have to get that for him! This movie will occupy him for minutes on end! Its so sweet! He was sitting on our bed with his cars pillow, blankie, drink, and Cars movie while I got ready this morning. I thought it was sweet how he was sitting with his little legs crossed. He has done that since he was really little and I think it is so sweet every time I see it!

At the restaurant on Saturday night I let Kolton play with the camera. He took several videos, but this one is my favorite. I love how he says cheese each time he lifts the camera up.

Grandpa Came to Visit!

My Dad came in to town and came to visit on Tuesday. Kolton LOVES him! He brought Kolton some new cars and a play garage for them. Kolton thought it was THE coolest thing! (He also brought him some clothes but Kolton was too distracted by the new toys to pay much attention to the new clothes.) He still keeps telling me when he plays with it "Papa buy. Papa open it." Its so funny!
He would copy all the sounds his grandpa would make with the cars and follow wherever he took the cars. It was funny to watch.

Isn't that just so sweet?? I love it! He loved to play with his grandpa! He would laugh and laugh and laugh.

He also showed Grandpa what he's going to be for Halloween--a firefighter!

And kisses for Grandpa!
We had fun and are glad that he was able to come and visit! Hopefully he'll come again on Thursday but if not, we'll see him again soon! Oh, and Grandma is coming in 2 weeks!
