Saying Good-bye

Saturday morning Shawn and I went to the temple.  He hadn't been since before his mission so he was really excited to go.  We went to the Bountiful temple.  We were trying to get to the 12:00 session but we got there just a couple minutes before and so we had to wait until the 12:30 session (so awesome that it runs every 30 minutes!).  A couple times while we were there people thought we were married to each other.  It was pretty funny! One of the people was someone that served in the same mission as Shawn.  I could tell he was pretty embarrassed to think that this guy thought we were married or at least dating.  :)  We rushed home afterwards and got ready to go to a bell choir performance.  Kolton and I rode with my Grandma and Grandpa.  My Grandpa is too funny.  He thought the GPS was so cool that he held it the entire trip to the performance (over an hour) and watched our little dot on the GPS move as we got closer and closer to our destination.  It was too cute.  This was a big bell choir conference/convention type thing and my mom's group was one of the groups there.  All the choirs performed several songs together and then some of the groups did solos.   My mom's choir was one of the groups that did a solo.  Here's my mom directing her choir as they performed Rock Around the Clock.  It was awesome! Definitely the best and most entertaining piece of the whole event.

Sunday Shawn gave his homecoming talk at church.  He did an amazing job! Such an amazing talk on how the Savior can influence and change your life.  He talked a lot about how he saw that in other people on his mission and really bore his testimony about the Savior.  It was a great talk.  Afterwards family (Grandma and Grandpa Ames, Kim and Raleigh and their kids, Jeremy and Sonja and their kids) came over to eat dinner.  All afternoon and evening Kolton kept asking when/if Tressa was coming over.  He finally convinced Shawn to ask her to come by and when Shawn said he would Kolton got very excited.  He literally watched out the front door and waited for her.
Saying good-bye to Grandma and Grandpa.

Both boys were tuckered out after a long day! :)
Monday we went to the Hogle Zoo.  Lizzie and Korver came too.  Kolton was really excited he got to ride on the train around the zoo! We moved seats a couple times before it started to make sure we had the best seats.  :)

All the animals were awesome.  They were moving around and making noise! One of the elephants had to take a potty break while we were there and Kolton couldn't believe how big it was! :) Later on, that same elephant was trying to get inside their habitat and kept pacing in front of the door and tapping it with its trunk and "roaring" (or whatever its called when they trump).  It was cool to listen to!

Kolton's favorite thing was probably the carousel.  He kept asking and asking to ride it and was SO excited when he got to!

Monday night we also went to Chuck E Cheese's. Kolton had been wanting to go the whole time we were out there so he was pretty excited when we told him we were going there.

He had a blast playing all the games! Everyone else had fun too! Kolton got that little spiderman as his prize with his, Shawn's, and some of Cambrea's tickets, and Korver got that ball with his and some of Cambrea's tickets.

We ordered pizza one night and requested Tyler to deliver it to us.  Kolton couldn't wait for him to come!
Can you tell how excited he was to have Tyler deliver pizza to us?! He was pretty excited to be able to pay him too!

It was cute! Tyler likes delivering pizzas and does a good job making them too! He actually makes a ton of money from tips while delivering pizzas! Its crazy!

Tuesday we went home.  As always it is sad to say good-bye to everyone.  We always have so much fun visiting them and wish we were closer.  It was so great to be there when Shawn came home from his mission, and I'm so glad we were all there for it.  Kolton loves all the playmates he has and misses them when we come home.  So, until next time... :)

Get Air!

On Monday we went to Get Air.  Kolton was pretty excited to get started! We got there right after the time slot started so we had to wait until the next time slot to get in.  They have an indoor soccer field in the next room there so we went over there and watched them play.  When it was our turn to go in we were ready! :)
My mom took pictures of us while we played.  We tried so hard to get us all up in the air! We seriously have like 100 pictures of us trying!
I have no idea what I am doing in this one...??

This picture makes me laugh...you think she is a dancer?! :) I like her basketball form!

I just watched while they played basketball...and did some jumping.  Apparently I don't point my toes anymore...

I can still do backflips! Yay!!! I haven't tried to do one in YEARS so I was a little scared, but it helped that I was on a trampoline and not the ground.  I definitely need to work on my form though...haha.

Just some fun pictures.

Tyler was being goofy one morning and pretending like he was going to eat Kolton for breakfast.  Kolton freaked out for a minute until he realized he was kidding.  Then it was funny to him.  This was payback for Kolton straight up jumping on Tyler while he was sleeping.  One morning we told Kolton to go wake up Tyler.  We told him to jump on him.  He didn't understand exactly what we meant, so he literally jumped on him and landed on Tyler's stomach with his feet.  Haha.  I felt so bad! Anyway, so this was payback.  :)
Tyler then got Kolton to trust him enough to do this...
My Grandma and Grandpa Ames (my mom's parents) came to town on Thursday.  Kolton thought my Grandpa was pretty cool and followed him around and listened to all his stories.  My Grandpa is a story teller! Not real ones, though...Made up ones.  He taught Kolton a "ghost story" and Kolton had fun telling it to everyone over and over.  :)
Grandpa showed Kolton how he can take his teeth out.  Kolton could not believe it! It was the craziest thing he's ever seen!

On Friday afternoon we went to Boondocks with my mom, Lizzie and Korver.  We went to go golfing but their machines weren't working so we couldn't pay for it so we used some game cards my mom already had and played a couple games while we waited.  Of course Kolton chose basketball!
We made it out to golfing and the boys loved it.  Korver thought it was pretty exciting at first.  He'd clap for everyone and get their balls for them.  It was cute! He was bored of it, though, after a few holes.
We couldn't keep Kolton with us.  He was so excited to go to each hole that it was hard to get him to wait for us.

After we were done my mom let Kolton and Korver pick some things from the prize counter.  She had a TON of tickets on her card so Kolton got some cool stuff! He actually got to pick something from the wall (he never has enough tickets to pick that stuff) and he was pretty excited! He got a snake and a tennis set.
Friday night my mom and dad went to a bell choir director's dinner and so Kolton and I went with Lizzie and Korver to the movies.  We went to the "dollar" theater in Kaysville and saw the Chipmunks movie.  It was fun! Kolton loved the movie! And I loved that their concessions were so cheap! Here, the dollar theater's snacks are just as expensive as the regular movie theater, but at that one, they were much cheaper! Like $1.50 for popcorn and drinks.  It was fun!
