Kolton's 7th Birthday

Kolton is in love with Just Dance.  While Maddi was here over Christmas break she came over quite a few times and played it with Kolton.  They would play for hours! Like, seriously! Haha.

We ordered a large picture of our family and I was so excited when it came in! Brady and I made a frame for it but I'll include that in a different post.  Our picture is 24x36 so it is by far the largest family portrait we've had.  Haha.
I love looking outside when it snows.  It is just so pretty!

Kolton had a wonderful birthday! I had forgotten to buy cinnamon rolls on Saturday, so early Monday morning I got up and ran to Walmart real quick to pick some up before he woke up.  We ate them for breakfast and then Brady headed to work.

We headed to Chuck E Cheese in the morning after Bentley took his nap.  Kolton was excited to use his gift card he got for Christmas.

We then picked up pizza on our way home for his birthday lunch.  :) He is one spoiled boy!
When Brady came home from work for lunch we let Kolton open his presents. He was dying to do it! :)

We kind of went with a Thunder theme for his birthday gifts this year.  On Amazon I found this mini fathead of Kevin Durant and then it had some Thunder logos and such for $27.  I couldn't believe it and had to get it for him! The Durant is 3 1/2 feet tall so it is definitely smaller than the real fatheads but so is the price! :) Kolton loved it and that is what matters!

He also got a Thunder clock and some KD socks.  He was pretty excited about those!

And then Daddy had the gift of all gifts...new KDs that are the "original" colors.  Kolton's other KDs were getting small and they weren't very grippy anymore either so Brady wanted to surprise him with new ones and he totally did!
He also got some Thunder basketball shorts. He had to try it all on and see how it looked! :)
My parents gave him this coloring set that has a book with it that has race cars you can color and then scan on your phone or tablet and drive the car you designed.  It is pretty cool and Kolton loves doing it but is very particular how the cars are colored and designed and is skeptical about letting other people color in it.  Haha.  Bentley figured out it made a fun box to stand on while brother was trying on his new clothes.  ;)

I made Kolton this quilt. I spent hours and hours working on it to make sure it turned out perfect.  There are still a couple flaws but overall I'm happy with how it turned out.  Kolton was surprised to see it.
I worked hard to make sure all the boxes were the exact same size to make sure when it was sewn that all the corners would match up.
And then I pinned it very carefully.  Seriously, I was very particular with it all.
Then my friend Sarah came over and helped me tie it.  That took an entire day.  From the time Kolton went to school in the morning until right before he got home I was working on tying it and then I did the binding.
I made it big enough for him to put in on his bed if he wanted (which he does).  I'm so glad I finally made the blanket for him! I've been wanting to do it for years! Hopefully it withstands the tests of time and lasts him a good long time.

That night we went to Red Robin for dinner. Our waitress ended up being Camille (the woman who owns Diesel--the stud dog we used with our Danes) so that was fun.
We had them come sing to Kolton and he was so embarrassed.  It was hilarious!!
 It was a great evening!
On Thursday, the 1st, we celebrated Kolton and Maddi's birthdays.  Kolton got a Toys R Us gift card and a Westbrook jersey.

We had Kolton's birthday party the following Saturday, the 3rd.  We originally had it scheduled for the 27th of December but only one person could come that day so we pushed it to the next Saturday.  And lucky for Kolton, everyone he invited could come that day so it worked out perfectly!

We made a Just Dance bracket and had the kids play.  It was cute to watch!

We then played a few minute to win it games.  I think the boys really enjoyed them.  One that we did was the Cheetos head one.  One partner wore a shower cap with shaving cream on it and the other teammate threw Cheetos on the.  Bentley loved this game too because then he went around and ate the Cheetos that fell.  Haha.  We also made paper airplanes and threw them through holes in a poster board.  Different size holes were worth more or less points depending on the size.  We also threw cotton balls in a cup.  Then we had three balloons and the kids had to keep all three up off the ground as long as they could. The longest was Kolton's team and they only last 20 seconds.  Haha.  We also played a game of "Gotcha" with Bentley's little hoop he got for Christmas.

I made cupcakes for the kids and we skipped ice cream.  Too much mess.  Haha.
Oh, he is just so handsome!! What a special little 7 year old!

Here's the group.  There's London, Sutton (friend from school), Kolton, Beckett (friend from church and soccer), Ryley (in the front, friend from basketball), Andrew (church), Pierson (front), and Parker (friend from school).  It was a great group.  After cupcakes they played the Wii and basketball.  It was a lot of fun and the perfect way to celebrate such a sweet boy turning 7!

Christmas

Christmas afternoon we headed over to Brady's parent's house for a Christmas lunch.  We had Mexican food, which is a tradition in Brady's family.  Brady's mom then wanted to take pictures because the whole family was there.  The kids were not so excited for it but they cooperated (sort of haha).
I don't know why the heck I'm standing like I am, but it is what it is.  Haha.  Here is the whole family!

For some reason we are doing duck lips in this pic...not sure how that came to be.  Gotta love it.
We then opened presents.  Kolton got roller blades and Bentley got some cars and a car carrying case.

Kolton did amazing for his first time roller blading ever! He is so talented with his coordination.

We ended up leaving around 6.  Bentley was really tired and we were too after getting up so early! It was a wonderful Christmas, as always, and I was sad to see it end, as always! :)

Christmas morning

Oh Christmas morning!! It is just such a magical and exciting time!! Bentley woke up at about 5:00 and so I brought him into our bed to see if he'd fall back asleep.  He did but Brady didn't! Haha.  Brady ended up deciding to wake Kolton up at 5:30.  He brought him into our room (he was so excited!!) and didn't let him look in the living room on his way over.  We then had him wake up Bentley.  Bentley was just the sweetest when he woke up and saw Kolton.  He gave everyone hugs and was in a good mood.  We then let the kids come out.
Santa had brought Bentley a basketball goal and as soon as he saw it he knew what to do.  :) Oh my, he loved that thing and wouldn't stop playing with it!

Kolton was pretty stoked that Santa brought him NBA 2k15 and Just Dance.  He even then got a bonus game: Madden15.  Just Dance and NBA 2k15 have gotten a lot of use over Christmas break!

Kolton was so full of excitement opening his gifts.  It was so fun to watch! I went back and forth video taping and taking pictures so we have moments captured with both.

Bentley really wanted Kolton to hold him and Kolton being the amazing brother he is, obliged, even though he was in the middle of opening a present.

Bentley figured out how to climb on things Christmas morning.  He was oh so proud of himself for getting up on that box! :)
Kolton helped Bentley go through his stocking to see what he got.  I just love how sweet and loving he is to Bentley and Bentley can tell his brother loves him and so those two have a sweet, special bond.
As you can see, Kolton was extremely spoiled this year for Christmas.  I mean, seriously!!

The boys got each other gifts and Kolton picked out this Mickey ball pit.  Bentley thought it was so fun to climb in it and throw the balls all around and walk around in circles in it.  It was too cute!

Bentley got Kolton this wobble bubble ball.  It feels like a bubble, works like a ball.  :) You inflate it to be about 3' tall.  Kolton thought it was pretty cool.

We relaxed, Skyped with my family, and had such an amazing, enjoyable Christmas morning.  Our family is so blessed and loved this time of year.
