Easter

On April Fool's Day I made these "spaghetti and meatball" cupcakes to take to Kolton's class.  The kids thought they were pretty funny and enjoyed the treat.  Then at dinner that night I pulled out a pitcher of "Kool-Aid" for Kolton to drink.  He got excited and then tried to pour it out.  Brady didn't understand what was going on either and was like "Kolton, just pour it!" Haha.  Then I started laughing and told them it was Jell-O and not Kool-Aid.  Then they both laughed.  Kolton tried to pull one on me too.  He came home and said he got on "red" at school today.  He's too good of a kid so I didn't believe him but I played along. He thought he was pretty funny. 

 Friday morning I went to "Muffins with Moms" at Kolton's school.  He ended up not being hungry and didn't eat anything and I ate two muffins.  Haha.  I love love love muffins so I wasn't complaining.  It was fun hanging out with him before school.  Friday night we had a birthday party to go to for Madelyn Glover (she is on Kolton's basketball game).  They had a jump house and the kids played and ate pizza and cake and then did an Easter egg hunt.  It was a lot of fun! They had little tykes slides that Bentley loved climbing up and going down on.  Kolton had a blast running around with all the kids.  It was a fun evening. 

Saturday morning Kolton had a soccer game.  He scored 5 goals and his team won 15-1.  So far Kolton has scored one more goal each game. Haha.  This poor team they played, though.  I felt so bad.  The second half we even put two players back on defense so hopefully we wouldn't score as much but we still did.  And then we only played 3 players against their 4 and still scored.  Our boys loved it but I just felt bad for the other kids. 

 Saturday night we got together with a bunch of friends and had an egg hunt while all the men were at the priesthood session of conference.  It was such a great evening! Kolton even got one of two eggs that had a $2 bill in it! He was pretty excited! There wasn't any wind, so that was nice! And the kids all played great and had a blast.  Kolton brought a football so the kids ended up starting a game of football and us moms just chatted.  It was a super fun evening.  Then Brady picked up Braums on his way home from conference for all of us.  Yum!

And now EASTER!!  Kolton came in our room in the night and said he couldn't sleep.  Poor guy was so excited for the Easter bunny to come.  ;) We ended up getting up around 6:30 or so.  

It took Kolton a few minutes to find his basket (it was in the dryer) but then he went to town finding eggs.  

Bentley LOVED finding eggs and was excited when he opened one and found candy! 

The boys with their baskets (mostly...haha...).  Bentley enjoyed dumping his out over and over and then picking it all up over and over.  

I made the deviled eggs colorful this year.  I saw it on Pinterest and had to do it.  It was so cute! 

We dressed the boys in their Easter shirts before heading over to Brady's parents for dinner right after the last session of conference.  They are by far the cutest boys I've ever seen!!



Kolton wanted to take some pictures so he took a picture of Brady and I.

Kolton dyed eggs before the first session of conference on Sunday.  (Yes, this is out of order haha.) He thought it was pretty cool! 

We had roast for Easter dinner and the kids ran around and played.  Bentley ended up getting a bloody nose.  It was so sad! He and Esme were running, not looking where they were going, and ran into eachother.  Bentley fell to the ground and ended up smacking his face.  Brady picked him and was holding him when he felt the blood dripping down his face.  It got on him, Bentley, and me.  Luckily Bentley sat really still for us to hold cold rags to his face.  It is crazy how much those things can bleed.  Luckily, too, all the blood came out of our clothes.  I spot treated them and washed them as soon as we got home. 

It was such a fun Easter.  I say that every year but it is true! Holidays are such special times with your family and I couldn't be happier with mine.  Brady and I have the sweetest, most adorable boys there are and I love it.  

Bentley Photoshoot

So, one morning when getting Kolton ready to head out the door to go to school, Bentley brought me these rain boots and wanted me to put them on him.  I did and he thought they were so cool! When we went out to watch Kolton walk to school he was so darn cute walking around in them and was in such a good mood that I decided I needed to take a picture.  Well, one turned into a lot.  Haha.  There are a lot that look pretty similar but he is making a slightly different face in each of them so I had to include them all.  I don't want to loose or forget all the different looks he makes.  He is very expressive with his faces.  I love it. 

 This is his face he gives when asking if he can do something he thinks I could say no to.  He wanted to pull Kolton's pinwheel thing out to play with it.  I let him and he was tickled!

Seriously, he's precious beyond words! 

End of March

Friday of Spring Break we went to the zoo.  We had to park across the street at the horse race track because the parking lot was full! We went to the children's zoo first because I haven't been there in a few years.  Bentley was fascinated by the goats (although in the picture he looks like he is afraid...he wasn't). 

 We walked around and saw some animals and then met Jill at the playground there and played for about 20 or 30 minutes before I had to leave to go meet Brady to go out to lunch with him!! We went to chick fil a and it was great to see him during the day!

 Sunday we had the Himes over to watch the OU basketball game and eat dessert.  We had gooey cake and Bentley enjoyed cleaning the spoon we used for the cool whip.  Haha.  He licked that thing so clean it didn't even look like it had anything on it to begin with. 

 We got Kolton's spring pictures.  He's so handsome! I just snapped a picture of it really quick before sending it back to school.  (I just realized he is wearing the same shirt in his fall and spring pictures haha.) 

 That weekend we worked on the garage and cleaning the cars.  I vacuumed and wiped out the storm shelter.  It was full of dead crickets and cobwebs and dead grass.  I then sprayed it all around the inside and outside with bug repellent.  Hopefully it works for at least the bad weather season.  Wednesday I went and bought a bunch of stuff to put in the shelter (food, chargers, extra batteries etc) and made sure our fan and lantern worked and we had all our water and then got a 5 gallon bucket and put a blanket and some toys and stuff in it for the kids.  I figure the bucket can be dumped out if we need to use it for a bathroom while we are down there but in the meantime it can keep the blanket free from bugs. 

 We played outside that afternoon and it was WINDY! Kolton could just stand there and the wind would push him in his roller blades!

 That evening a tornado ended up hitting Moore.  It went through our old neighborhood and hit Kolton's old school, Southgate.  School got canceled on Thursday for the whole district and then on Friday everyone went back except for Southgate.  They are now going to Emmaus Baptist Church, which is where Briarwood went last year. 

 It was crazy to see two of the three radio towers that were right by our old house were gone and the third was broken.  So glad we moved and didn't live there when this happened. 

 This is a little out of order but Brady finally got his truck!!!  You have no idea how long and how bad he has wanted this.  When we bought the Xterra, we tried really hard to get one of these but couldn't find one in our price range.  Anyway, when he got his new job we decided he could get a truck if we found one for the right price.  He spent hours and hours looking at trucks and haggling with dealerships.  He ended up finding one that had enough rebates and finding a dealership that would give us enough for our trade that it made it in our price range.  I was at home with Bentley who was asleep when I got a call from Brady at about 9:00 saying he had made a deal and I needed to come up to sign everything.  Oh he was so excited. It was cute.  He loves this thing and has tons of stuff he wants to do to it over the years. 

Kolton has started another season of soccer.  He didn't get to attend any practices before the first game because we were in Utah/practices got canceled because of rain.  He was a little nervous heading into the first game but we just told him to be aggressive and he'll do great.  We also have 3 new players on our team this year so he was anxious about meeting them as well.  Anyway, in the first game he did awesome and ended up scoring 2 goals.  His team won 9-5.  Then the next week we had a game and he scored 3 goals in their 13-3 victory.  Kolton then had a game on Monday night, the 30th, and so he invited his teacher to it.  She came and brought her brother and her mom and dad.  They got lost and didn't end up getting there until half-time but when Kolton saw her he got a huge grin on his face and waved at her.  It was too cute.  He scored 4 goals in that game and his team won, although I can't remember the score.  They are doing great this season and working well together.
