SUMMER

Oh, the joys of summer. A hot, hot summer. We've had so many days that have gone over 100 degrees I've lost count. Its hot. That's all I need to remember. :)
BUT, with the hot temperatures comes lots and lots of fun new things to do and celebrate! ;) Sunday, the 19th was Father's Day. Brady is such an amazing father. As time goes on, I'm more and more amazed with how well he fits the role. ;) On Saturday, the 18th, Brady and Kolton took me shopping to the mall to pick out a new shirt or two. Before we left, Kolton was drinking one of those IBC cream sodas (in the glass bottles). It slipped out of his hand and he dropped it on the kitchen floor and miraculously it landed straight up and down but it started fizzing out the top. We quickly picked it up and cleaned it up. Then, we left for the mall. After a while Kolton was getting hungry, so we stopped by Auntie Anne's to get a pretzel and a drink. I went in to a store and Brady and Kolton sat on the bench to eat and drink their snack. Kolton tried to put the drink in between his legs, but the benches are made of wooden slats, so the drink wobbled and fell to the floor and red juice went flying everywhere. Anyway, the point of these stories is that Brady stayed calm the whole time. He didn't freak out and get all mad, he cleaned up the messes and then talked to Kolton calmly but firmly about how we need to be more careful with our drinks. He loves and cares for Kolton so much and I love watching them together. He loves to play with him and teach him new things. We were glad to celebrate him and the wonderful father that he is.
After church on Father's day we went to Brady's parent's house to celebrate my birthday, Brady's birthday, Father's Day, and Brady's dad's birthday. We had grilled steak and chicken and followed that up with a cake Vanessa made. Oh how I love the Thunder!!
After dinner we went home and Brady was ready for bed. ;) He started a paper route and the hours you work for a paper route make for a very long and tiring day (yet another reason he's a great dad!).

Kolton has taken on an obsession with playing out in the water on the trampoline. He'll do it for 2-3 hours at a time. He loves to see how high he can spray the water (our hose is cut off at the end so the only way you can make it spray is using your fingers--and their isn't much water pressure because of it either, so its pretty hard to get it up high). He told me one time that the water was going really high and that it was going to reach the moon. ;)

He also loves to try and spray me while I sit out on lawn chairs and try to get my tan going. I miss Jeff and Vanessa's apartment pool! We had such a good time hanging out with them (almost every day) last summer at their pool! I also loved how by this time last year I was nice and tan--even my legs! If you know me at all, you know my legs DO NOT tan! The rest of my body is always easily 6-8 shades darker then my legs-at least! I'm not even kidding. Anyway, so he tries to spray me. ;)

And jump really high! I got on there and I don't think I ever recognized this when I was a kid, but when the tramp is wet it is extra springy. You can go HIGH without much effort.

On Friday, the 24th, Kolton had his very first sleepover!! I didn't tell him until the day of because we were surprising Brady. It was Brady's birthday on Sunday, the 26th, so Brittney agreed to have Kolton stay the night the 24th so Brady and I could sleep in and hang out as just a couple. I dropped Kolton off at the Foys at 4:00 and then went and picked Brady up from work. He knew we were going to dinner that night, so he was expecting that. We went to Genghis Grill for dinner. Love that place! So yummy! After dinner he asked if we needed to go pick up Kolton and that's when I told him he was staying the night. He was SO excited! We rented a redbox movie and ate ice cream and just relaxed at home. Kolton had a blast and did lots of fun things with Kade. They went to Andy Alligators and played golf--probably one of Kolton's favorite things to do!

Then they went to Chick-fil-a and ate dinner and then they got to play in the sprinklers in Kade's front yard.

I like this picture because it depicts something Kolton does all the time! When he gets mad, sad, excited, scared, cold...anything extreme he usually does this with his hands. His fingers are all extended and stretched out to the max... I'm glad Brittney got it in a picture so I could have it!

Afterward they ate yummy Popsicles that stained their skin! ;)

I tried to talk to Kolton on the phone before he went to bed to say good night but he was NOT interested. I was afraid it might make him want to come home but he couldn't careless. I tried to ask him questions and he just walked away from the phone to go play more. Haha. Brittney said it didn't take them too long once they went to bed to fall asleep.

We picked him up in the morning around 10:30 or so and he didn't want to come home. I'm so glad he had such a good time and that Brady and I were able to spend the night together and sleep in in the morning. We told Kolton thank you for being good at Kade's house and his reply was "my pleasure." This phrase has since been added to his regular vocabulary. I love it.

Week 3 in UTAH

On Saturday after we got back from the train place Kolton and Tyler went out to play (just like every day!). A couple days before this Tyler and I had played with Kolton downstairs and the game we played was one that Kolton plays with Brady and LOVES. Brady will hit Kolton with a pillow or throw it at him. I'm not sure why Kolton likes this game so much but he loves it. Anyway, so Tyler and I were playing that with him. He'd have to run to the couch and we'd try and pelt him with a pillow. :) So, Tyler decided to do it with a ball outside. They had a blast!

Then Kolton decided to turn on Tyler and get him back! A few times T was a little ruthless and would just throw the ball at Kolton over and over and over hitting Kolton every time he was trying to get up. So, Kolton did the same to Tyler. Of course Tyler had to do a little acting on his part, but Kolton was proud of his payback! ;)

A few days after we got to Utah, Grandpa told Kolton he would wrestle him. Well, on Sunday Kolton decided that that was the day and he was going to get Grandpa. ;) He was SO hyper pretty much the entire time we were there all day every day! He never stopped to rest!

On Tuesday Kolton, Cam and Tyler went swimming. I just came along to watch. This was the first time Kolton had been swimming since last summer and it was as if he had forgotten everything about swimming. If he couldn't touch the bottom he wouldn't let Cambrea or Tyler let go of his hand. He loved the little kid area though. He had Cambrea sit at the bottom of the slide and catch him over and over and over. :)

He was "adventurous" and would jump in to the 1 foot deep water. Haha.

Tyler decided to take Kolton on the big slide. Kolton was EXCITED!

You can't catch anyone at the bottom nor can you wear floaties or anything so Tyler had to hold Kolton up every time they came down to keep Kolton up. He was excited to go down the slide as long as his head didn't go under water. :)

Tuesday night I drove to Provo for a girl's night and to celebrate my 25th birthday with my best friends from high school! It was so much fun! We met at a nail place in the mall. Shana really wanted me to get "glitter toes" so she treated me to that. So pretty!

We then went to PF Changs for dinner. So yummy! We had tons of food and had a blast catching up!

Shana and I! I'm so glad she put this together! I have the best friends ever! I seriously had a blast!

Since it was my birthday I got a little dessert shot with a little candle on top. :)

After dinner we walked around the mall and then went to Mallory's house to chat some more. Mallory got out pictures from high school and we just sat around reminiscing about all the fun times we had together. This night really made me miss them! I wish we could get together more often! We have had so many good times together! Oh we were crazy! ;) But it was so much fun! Love you Sarah, Shana and Mallory!!

This happened probably every day! Kolton took about 3 regular naps I think the entire time we were there. Every other day he'd fall asleep watching a movie or while we were driving. He was just so busy having fun and playing he never wanted to stop for nap!
On Wednesday we had a barbeque with all the members of my mom's bell choir. It was fun to get to meet them all! It was such nice weather all day and then at about 5:00 it started to down pour and so we had to move the barbeque inside but it all worked out and we had a good time. On Thursday we went swimming again and this time I got in with them and Derek, Lizzie and Korver came as well and Grandma came to watch. I helped Kolton remember he could swim on his own so he felt a lot more comfortable this time so that was nice. He still wouldn't go under water like he used to but he'd atleast go swim by himself. On the way to swim he got another bloody nose. He said to me "we need to call my daddy. He can fix it with his tools. Maybe a screwdriver?" Haha. Lets hope not! ;) This one wasn't as bad as the first one, though, so that was nice. Then when we got home from swimming he squished the heck out of an ant that was on the ground (he killed a bee too--crazy boy!) and then turned and said to me "we don't squish red ants. Red ants can hurt me. That's what my dad said." Good to know he's listening. ;)
On Friday I took pictures of my siblings. So fun! Kolton came with us during some of it and really wanted a picture taken of himself so I obliged. He's just so darn cute!
While we were taking pictures of Cambrea behind my parent's house she kept saying it smelt like poop. My mom and I just told her she was fine and that it wasn't that bad. Well, she got up and started walking away and we noticed her butt had a nice size oval of poop smeared on her jeans. Yummy! Apparently she knew what she was smelling!
He then wanted to take a picture of me so I let him. I have probably 20 pictures on my camera that he took that either don't have me in it at all or just have an arm or the top of my head or something but this one actually has most of my body in it! Way to go Kolton! ;)

After picture taking we went putt-putt golfing. Kolton was in HEAVEN! He absolutely LOVES to golf! He's pretty much obsessed and would go every day if he could! We all had a good time. Here's how our scores ended up: Kolton 82, me 65, Cam 76, T 55,Mom 59, Dad 45. Dad said whoever got the lowest score got $100. Pretty lame he won! :)

Saturday morning while Kolton was eating breakfast he put his fist up and said "Some of my knuckles fell off!" pointing to the space in between each knuckle. It was pretty funny. :) That afternoon we went to Temple Square. Kolton had fun looking through the museum.

This is a full size replica of the Angel Moroni that stands atop each of the LDS temples.

Kolton really liked being able to speak from the Conference Center podium. He thought that was pretty cool!

We then went to the Children's exhibit where he got to play and play and play!

He loved going fishing! He had to work hard for every fish he caught!

He then built a tower with Grandpa. Well, he wouldn't really let Grandpa have much say in where the things went but Grandpa tried to help nonetheless. ;)

Then he built a tower with Tyler. Tyler had quite a bit more say in where things went and really this time around Kolton was the one being told where to put things. ;) They built this awesome "temple" and right as I was taking the picture it started to fall, but you can hardly tell! It looks like it is pretty much standing straight up!

Kolton made us all dinner to eat with the missionaries. He cooked and cooked and cooked some more. It took him a long time to get all the food ready. But once it was ready it sure was yummy! ;)

Tyler taught him how to flip the food in the frying pan. I don't think we'll be doing it anytime soon with real food (haha-obviously! :) he missed a few times), but he enjoyed doing it with his play food. ;)

He then did a little dance. It was so cute! He got so in to it! He's such a good little dancer! ;)

We then went and took pictures in front of the temple.

Kolton and Tyler doing their poses together. :)

This is Tyler's new thing. I don't get it...Am I too old...??

So sweet! ;)

T, Cam, and Kolton on the way to the side of the temple.

Kolton did his own posing. :)

We went to see the Christus statue. I have several pictures of Kolton in front of this doing different poses. He was really in to working it for the camera. :)
Before heading home we went to an ice cream place. It was YUMMY! And the ice cream dishes were HUGE! Tyler and I shared. It was funny though, because as we were pulling in Cam told Kolton it was the building with red on it. Well, the red was kind of faded so it looked pink and so Kolton got really upset and said "This is NOT the right building! This one is pink! Not red!" Oh dear! Drama, drama. ;)

Sunday Tyler was ordained to an Elder and received the Melchizedek priesthood. So proud of him! Kolton was too and really wanted a picture with him! Our uncle Jeremy was able to come as well as our uncle Raleigh and his wife Kim and their kids. It was great to see them! We had a nice get together afterwards and ate dinner.
T and his family. ;)

Kolton had fun playing with Raleigh and Kim's kids. He was attached to Araleigh for a little bit then had a blast playing with his friends Hyrum and Ruth (their two youngest kids).
What a fun and exciting trip we had! Kolton had so much fun spending time with everyone! Tyler opened up his vocabulary to things such as "dawg" and "boss" (as in...you drive like a boss, or you shoot like a boss--it was funny to listen to). Kolton also loved playing with Korver who is is "cousin and friend." He got spoiled by everyone and loved every second of it! :) Brady was excited for us to come home, though, after being gone for 3 weeks! :)
