Field Trip, Sports, Sports, Sports

I decided to finally go through our filing cabinet after 10 years of marriage.  Haha.  That thing was so full! And turns out, so full of stuff we didn't even need! It felt good to throw it all out!!
Tuesday night, the 14th,  Kolton went to the OKC Barons game with Ryley and Neal Storey.  Lucky kid got a t-shirt that the guy next to him caught.  He also came home with a hat and a puck.  He thought he was pretty cool! Brady and I put Bentley down and rented a redbox movie and just relaxed for the evening.  It was really nice!

Bentley loves waiting for Kolton to come home from school every day.  And he always gets super excited when he sees him coming down the street.
I was putting away groceries one morning and Bentley started yelling "mama!"  I came in to Kolton's room to find Bentley standing on the step unable to get down.  Too funny!
Thursday night, the 16th,  Brady and I got to go to the OKC Dodgers baseball game with Mark and Jill Himes and Jill's parents.  Mark was the doctor for the game so he got tickets.  It was a lot of fun and the absolute perfect weather! It was a fun date!

Brady spent a few hours washing and polishing his truck on Saturday afternoon in between Kolton's two games.  He loves that thing!

Kolton's team won their first game of the tournament on Saturday but lost their second.  Kolton hurt his hip during the game but was able to finish playing the game.  He started crying after the game but I think that was really motivated by his being upset about the loss.  I know it hurt because it still causes him pain but he was pretty upset about the loss.  Poor guy.  The tournament was really good for his team, though, because it showed them the things they need to get better at.  They blow out all the teams they play in their league and when you do that it is hard to see areas where you need to improve.  But the teams in the tournament were all really good so even in the win we were able to see what we need to be better at.  I'm glad we did it.  And it was good for the boys to experience a loss.  Haha.  Kolton wasn't the only one crying afterwards.  Haha.

I came home one day to find this in our backyard. I get that they have to get to pipes under the ground etc. I just wish that builders and their contractors had the common courtesy to at least let me know they were going to do something.  I hate coming home and finding it or looking out my window and seeing someone in my yard or using my water.  It has since been filled in and they filled it with sand.  ??? So that stinks.
Tuesday I finally started work again.  I spent all day Tuesday up there getting my CAC card and attending meetings.  I wasn't expecting to be gone all day but was glad to start working again.
We are in full fit-throwing stage with Bentley.  Let me tell you he is crazy! Haha.  I have to leave the room a lot of time because it is always just so over the top that I find it hard not to laugh.
Last Tuesday night we went to watch Brady play basketball.  Kolton loved it! Bentley enjoyed himself for the most part until about 8:30 and then I took him home so he could go to bed.  It was way past his bedtime.
Wednesday, the 22nd, I get a call from Brady at like 8:00 saying he got in a wreck.  I was like what?! I felt so bad for him! His brand new truck he's been wanting for years, literally, already damaged.  He was sitting at a red light and a guy in a truck behind him didn't notice it was red until it was too late.  He tried to stop but didn't in time.  It did about $3,000 in damage.  Brady was pretty bummed about it but at least it wasn't his fault and the other guy had insurance.  Then that night Bentley knocked Brady's phone out of his hand and it landed just perfectly on the tile that the screen shattered.  He was not having a very good day.  Haha.
Thursday Kolton had his 1st grade field trip and I got to go with him! He and I were both excited! We were going to the Science Museum.  The kids had a blast and it was fun watching them run around enjoying themselves.

Friday Bentley woke up with a fever and it ended up getting pretty high (103.7).  Poor guy just laid in my bed all day going in and out of sleep.  We never did figure out if there was anything wrong with him.  He is teething so not sure if it was just that or what.

Yesterday it was raining pretty good when it was time for Kolton to come home.  I didn't realize that until it was too late so I couldn't go pick him up.  I felt pretty bad but he made it home.  He protected his bean plan and that was what was important to him.  :)

Bentley has been pretty good at always folding his arms for prayer but now he will put his finger up to his mouth and say "shhh" and it is so cute! I love it!

Thunder Game and Flowerbed

This kid took like a 3 hour nap the day after Easter.  I put him down in his crib for his morning nap around 9:15 or so.  He slept in there until 10:20 or so.  I went and got him and sat down on the couch with him.  He ended up falling back asleep on me and slept there until 11:10.  At that point I needed to get up and dry my hair (it was still in the towel from my shower) so I laid him down and put Brady's shirt on him that happened to be on the bed from folding laundry and he slept there until 12:30!! It was crazy! Easter must have really wore him out!
One morning I was sitting there on the floor messing around on my phone and I look up and he is just playing with cars like a little boy! Its so crazy how fast they grow up!
He loves to wear my sunglasses! He will bring them to me saying "Duh? duh?" (the only sound he uses to communicate anything to you).  So, I put them on and he walks around like he is the coolest thing.  I love it!

Kolton came home from school one day in such a good mood! He was so happy because he got the best compliment he could get.  Someone told him he was fast and he loved that!
Brady was looking at stuff under the truck one evening while we let the boys play outside.  Bentley went looking for him and tried to climb under there as well.  Brady looked up and saw him at the other end just spying on him.  Too cute!
Kolton, in the last couple weeks, has had two pinwheels given to him.  Bentley absolutely loves to play with them and take them out of the ground and put them back in.  He went and got them one day and then tried to ride on his bike but didn't know how to hold on and hold the pinwheels. It was funny.
Kolton got the biggest surprise ever! Last Friday his teacher texted me and said her mom wanted to give Kolton her season tickets for a game if he'd like to go to one.  I of course told her he'd love to and that if there was a game she couldn't make we'd love to use their tickets.  She texted me back and said "How about tonight?" Mrs. Milligan's mom went up to the school, pulled Kolton out of class, and gave him the tickets.  I wish I could have seen his face because I know he was so excited! He couldn't wait to tell me when he got home.  I got to go with him this time and I was so excited to spend the evening with him.  We left a little early so we could stop by Thunder Alley and he could play some basketball and get his face painted.  He had a blast!

We were on the front row of our section which was really nice.  We didn't have to worry about anyone blocking our view in front of us.  And no one was to our left, either, until half way through the third quarter.  A really nice man was sitting next to Kolton on our right and would make small talk with him.  We shared a thing of nachos and a huge sprite and enjoyed the game! I just am so grateful his teacher and her mom were nice enough to give Kolton tickets for a game.  I mean, how nice is that?!

Saturday morning Brady got up with Bentley and took him to go get breakfast for everyone.
After breakfast we started working on our front flower bed.  When we moved in the people who put in the plants and bushes did such a weird placement and layout and we've wanted to change it since we moved in but haven't ever gotten around to it.  Well, we were finally doing it!
It ended up raining on us.  And it was a cold rain.  But it was fun!  Kolton entertained Bentley while Brady and I worked every muscle in our body haha.  Pulling those pushes out was HARD!  And then the dirt under there was half dirt/half thick clay with old bricks and wood pieces thrown in there.  That made it hard to use the shovel because every time you'd try and push it down in there you'd hit something.  So we had to do a lot with our hands.  We were sore!!

That afternoon we went and got flowers and planted them.  I like it so much more now!
That evening we went to the Himes with the Landrums and Widdisons and played kick ball and ate dessert.  It was a lot of fun! Bentley is so good at just playing with himself when we go to friend's houses or are outside. It is awesome! And then Kolton had tons of people to play with so he was having a blast!
Sunday was fast Sunday since last week was conference.  I got to stay in relief society until 3:45, so that was awesome! Haha.  When we left Bentley started waving at everyone and telling them "buh-bye" really loudly.  Haha.  We just couldn't make a quiet exit.  He's too funny.  Then after church I had a girl's camp meeting.  We are two months away from camp! I am so not prepared! Haha.  I have felt good about what I've accomplished so far but now it is time for me to actually start buying stuff etc. and it feels overwhelming.  But, I know it will all work out and be awesome I hope! :)
Part of the deal with Brady's new truck was that the dealership would put in a remote start.  So on Monday I took the truck in and they gave me a loner car.  Since the gas was free :) I drove up to Brady's work and met him for lunch.  Bentley loved dipping his fries in the ketchup! Then on the way back they were done with the truck so I stopped and picked it up.  We had a family home evening lesson on being kind and made a chart for us to write down this week when someone does something nice for us.  We then watched the Thunder game together and were happy we won!!
This morning I got up and cut Brady's hair.  Meant to do it on Saturday but we got all into doing the flowerbed that we forgot.  Then when Bentley woke up he found some cookies and just asked in the sweetest way I couldn't say no.  He tilts his head so far to the side that his whole body is leaning sideways and talks in the highest pitch voice when asking.  It is just too sweet.  He absolutely loved it and kept saying "mmmmm."  Too funny.

After scriptures I cut Kolton's hair too.  He hadn't had one in like two months and a half months! He needed it.
These two boys are just too cute.  Kolton sure can pester Bentley but on the other hand he can make him happier and giddier than anyone! I love it!
