Bentley Feeding Himself and Kolton Lost Another Tooth

Bentley has started feeding himself more and more.  He will eat almost anything you give him if he is able to feed it to himself.  He recently learned he can hold his own banana and prefers now to eat it that way instead of cut up in slices.  He also has developed a new smile he does for the camera.  Only for the camera...not as his normal smile.  It is too funny.

On the 29th of April I watched Jill's girls in the afternoon for her so she could get some rest and get some things done.  Bentley had a lot of fun playing with them and eating yummy treats.  :)
He also tried his hand at feeding himself yogurt that day too.  That was a little more messy than bananas but he actually did a pretty good job of keeping himself relatively clean.  There's that smile again.

Kolton got his front tooth pulled out that afternoon as well.  When Brady came home he showed it to him and Brady just barely touched it and it came out.  That thing was ready! :) Kolton was pretty excited!
April 30th it was pretty darn warm outside.  When we met Kolton after school I decided to let the boys eat a cold treat.  Bentley had a popsicle and Kolton ate this Reese's peanut butter egg ice cream thing.

This kid has the cutest little freckles.  Recently he has had a couple of people point them out and mention how cute they are.  He always gets bashful when they do.
He's an amazing big brother too.  Always so willing to share and help Bentley.  He's this way at school too.  I was recently up there to make copies and came into the classroom before school.  Mrs. Milligan was in there with a couple of 2nd grade teachers.  They both said, pointing to Kolton, that they better get him in their class next year.  After they left Mrs. Milligan said, "Its true"...at one point or another throughout the year, every single one of the teachers have told her they want him in their class and she doesn't blame them because he is the sweetest boy there is and is always on top of things and knows what is going on.  That made Kolton feel pretty darn special.

Decided to try the sprinkler under the trampoline for the first time this year.  Bentley...not much of a fan.  Haha.

Kolton loved it though and just ran around kicking the soccer ball and asking Bentley to retrieve it for him if it went over the net.

Here's another yogurt eating adventure.  This one got messy.
Oh that smile is just so darn cute!

Another shot of Kolton's missing front teeth. :)

The next two pictures are him saying "Owww" because he didn't like the yogurt on his stomach.  I think it was drying up and pulling his skin tight.  He ended up in the bath after this feeding. Haha.

Frontier City and Severe Weather

This year we decided to get OKC Venture Passes.  With it you get a pass to Frontier City and Whitewater Bay and then you can golf, play lasertag, and do the ropes course at HeyDey, go roller skating, and ice skating for a year.  It was a good deal and I'm excited to use it this summer.  We decided to go to Frontier City on Saturday since Kolton didn't have a game and it was supposed to be nice weather.  It was so fun! And so nice having a pass because then you can just go for a couple hours and then go home and not feel bad.  Kolton had an absolute blast! It was fun seeing him enjoy himself so much.
Bentley didn't have as much fun as Kolton haha but still had a good time on some of the rides.  I tried taking him on the boat ride and even sat down in the middle so it wouldn't move very much but he still hated it. Poor guy.  He loved the little kid train ride, though!

Kolton got this little note at school the other day from a girl named Addison. So funny!
Tuesday was a busy day for me! Had to drop of muffins at Kolton's school for the teachers by 8:00 in the morning and then had to take Brady's truck to the repair shop to get it fixed from the wreck and then the rental car company picked us up and took us to the rental car place so I could fill out the paperwork and pick up the car.  And then I had to get back in time to get Kolton to school.  It was tight but we made it! :) Tuesday evening we went to the mall to get Bentley some shoes.  Sears always has these slip-on shoes for kids for like $7 so we wanted to go there.  We let the kids try out these little animal things.  You can do it for 15 minutes or for 30 minutes.  We did the 15 and I'm glad.  Kolton thought it went too slow haha but Bentley really liked it.  It was a perfect amount of time and I think 30 minutes would have been too long.

Wednesday we had some bad storms.  Brady ended up having to stay at work until late. He tried to leave but then traffic was stopped and a tornadic storm was headed our way and he didn't think he'd be able to get home in time because of the traffic before the storm hit so he turned around and went back.  We had to get in the shelter 2 or 3 times before Brady even got home.  It's hard to get in there with a baby haha.
We got tons of little hail and TONS of rain.  In two hours we got 10" of rain! That is crazy!

Streets were flooded big time! This is 19th street where it goes under the train tracks.  That is a top of a car you see sticking out there.  So many roads got shut down.  We ended up losing power and that stunk because then I didn't know what the storms were doing and if I should get in the shelter or not.  I had a couple people texting me and keeping me posted so that was nice.  After Brady got home we had to get in the shelter one more time.  I think there ended up being 12 tornadoes yesterday that came towards or around the OKC metro.  One tornado ended up hitting the Tiger Safari and some of the animals got loose.  Crazy crazy! Our power came back on around 11:00 that night, thankfully! So hard to live without power!
Oh and this is the high school that Kolton will go to (Southmoore).  It looks like a lake is in front of it but it really is just a field/parking lot! We are supposed to get even more rain again today and the risk of severe weather is there again today too.  Good ole Oklahoma! :)

Field Trip, Sports, Sports, Sports

I decided to finally go through our filing cabinet after 10 years of marriage.  Haha.  That thing was so full! And turns out, so full of stuff we didn't even need! It felt good to throw it all out!!
Tuesday night, the 14th,  Kolton went to the OKC Barons game with Ryley and Neal Storey.  Lucky kid got a t-shirt that the guy next to him caught.  He also came home with a hat and a puck.  He thought he was pretty cool! Brady and I put Bentley down and rented a redbox movie and just relaxed for the evening.  It was really nice!

Bentley loves waiting for Kolton to come home from school every day.  And he always gets super excited when he sees him coming down the street.
I was putting away groceries one morning and Bentley started yelling "mama!"  I came in to Kolton's room to find Bentley standing on the step unable to get down.  Too funny!
Thursday night, the 16th,  Brady and I got to go to the OKC Dodgers baseball game with Mark and Jill Himes and Jill's parents.  Mark was the doctor for the game so he got tickets.  It was a lot of fun and the absolute perfect weather! It was a fun date!

Brady spent a few hours washing and polishing his truck on Saturday afternoon in between Kolton's two games.  He loves that thing!

Kolton's team won their first game of the tournament on Saturday but lost their second.  Kolton hurt his hip during the game but was able to finish playing the game.  He started crying after the game but I think that was really motivated by his being upset about the loss.  I know it hurt because it still causes him pain but he was pretty upset about the loss.  Poor guy.  The tournament was really good for his team, though, because it showed them the things they need to get better at.  They blow out all the teams they play in their league and when you do that it is hard to see areas where you need to improve.  But the teams in the tournament were all really good so even in the win we were able to see what we need to be better at.  I'm glad we did it.  And it was good for the boys to experience a loss.  Haha.  Kolton wasn't the only one crying afterwards.  Haha.

I came home one day to find this in our backyard. I get that they have to get to pipes under the ground etc. I just wish that builders and their contractors had the common courtesy to at least let me know they were going to do something.  I hate coming home and finding it or looking out my window and seeing someone in my yard or using my water.  It has since been filled in and they filled it with sand.  ??? So that stinks.
Tuesday I finally started work again.  I spent all day Tuesday up there getting my CAC card and attending meetings.  I wasn't expecting to be gone all day but was glad to start working again.
We are in full fit-throwing stage with Bentley.  Let me tell you he is crazy! Haha.  I have to leave the room a lot of time because it is always just so over the top that I find it hard not to laugh.
Last Tuesday night we went to watch Brady play basketball.  Kolton loved it! Bentley enjoyed himself for the most part until about 8:30 and then I took him home so he could go to bed.  It was way past his bedtime.
Wednesday, the 22nd, I get a call from Brady at like 8:00 saying he got in a wreck.  I was like what?! I felt so bad for him! His brand new truck he's been wanting for years, literally, already damaged.  He was sitting at a red light and a guy in a truck behind him didn't notice it was red until it was too late.  He tried to stop but didn't in time.  It did about $3,000 in damage.  Brady was pretty bummed about it but at least it wasn't his fault and the other guy had insurance.  Then that night Bentley knocked Brady's phone out of his hand and it landed just perfectly on the tile that the screen shattered.  He was not having a very good day.  Haha.
Thursday Kolton had his 1st grade field trip and I got to go with him! He and I were both excited! We were going to the Science Museum.  The kids had a blast and it was fun watching them run around enjoying themselves.

Friday Bentley woke up with a fever and it ended up getting pretty high (103.7).  Poor guy just laid in my bed all day going in and out of sleep.  We never did figure out if there was anything wrong with him.  He is teething so not sure if it was just that or what.

Yesterday it was raining pretty good when it was time for Kolton to come home.  I didn't realize that until it was too late so I couldn't go pick him up.  I felt pretty bad but he made it home.  He protected his bean plan and that was what was important to him.  :)

Bentley has been pretty good at always folding his arms for prayer but now he will put his finger up to his mouth and say "shhh" and it is so cute! I love it!
