Kolton turned 9 this year! So crazy! I got up early that morning and decorated Kolton's cookie cake for his party. He and I had gone to the store the night before and bought the treats and drinks for his party and the stuff to make this cookie cake. I messed up a couple times on the border and it is tighter on one side than the other but other than hat I think it turned out well.
After we ate breakfast we headed to the church gym to set things up for his party. He wanted to play glow-in-the-dark nerf guns so we went and set up some tables and chairs to be used for protection.
We came home and got ready and then Kolton opened up his presents from us and his grandparents. He was really excited!
I love the pictures of him opening up one of his presents from my parents. They got him a Garmin Vivofit 3 for him to be able to track his steps and he was so excited!
He got a frame for his Westbrook poster that we've had for forever so he can finally hang it up, several basketball shorts, new tennis shoes, joggers, and the vivofit. I also wrapped his cell phone box so he could remember we got him that for his birthday too. Haha.
His friends came at 10:00. We started the party off by opening presents. He got a basketball goal and a shirt and then tons of cash.
These were the kids who came to the party...Pierson, London, Nolan, Parker, Kolton, Beckett, Sutton, DJ, and Rafe.
We had them pick a glow in the dark bracelet to figure out teams and who was riding in what car. Haha.
The boys seriously had a blast (except for when people weren't being honest about whether or not they got hit or not or if they actually hit someone or not but that was only a couple of kids). The party was not long enough, that's for sure! They did not want to stop playing. It was fun and Kolton loved it, which is the best part.
We came back to the house and sang Happy Birthday to Kolton and then ate some cake and the boys played while they waited for their parents.
That afternoon we all took a little nap. DJ ended up having to stay until 4:00 I think since his parents were at work so he and Kolton had a lot of fun playing. We also took Kolton to the store to go get a nerf gun with his money.
Then that evening, at around 6:00, Kade Foy came! His grandparents were driving through so they brought Kade with them so he could spend a couple days here with Kolton. Kolton was so excited!
Kade brought a couple presents for Kolton and so Kolton opened them and then we left and went to Ted's for Kolton's birthday dinner.
Then later that night Maddi and Taylor came over (they had flown in that evening) and hung out for a little bit. Kolton sure does know how to party! He had a blast the whole day!
We are so happy to have him in our family. He truly is a special boy who wants to badly to always do the right thing. He is sensitive to other's feelings and doesn't like people to get their feelings hurt. He is so smart and works so hard in school. He is so talented in sports and puts so much time and hard work into them! We love how sweet he is and are so happy we get to raise this amazing boy. Can't believe he is 9 already!!
