The rules at the school have gotten pretty strict recently after school. Used to be ok for the kids to stay after and play for a little bit after school but now, if you don't have a parent there, you have to go home right away. So, sometimes I make my way up to the school for a little bit so the boys can play up there. They live to be playing outside with a ball!
February 4th Kolton had 3 basketball games. One with the city (8 am!) and 2 with the Defenders. He won all 3 of them! The scores were 35-12, 23-20, and 24-23. The last game was against BTR (which is a pretty good team) and it was intense! Kolton scored a clutch 3 and a clutch free throw to give them the win. It was awesome! Deshawn and DJ came to watch, too, so that was fun!
On the 7th I had a presidency meeting and so I asked Jenny if Brynlee could come with us to the church to play with Bentley and keep him company. Bentley loves Brynlee. He was so sad when she had to go home!
That evening Kolton had his last regular season game with the Station. They won 27-16. Kolton had some sweet moves and played awesomely! There was a crazy mom on the other team, though, that was freaking out after the game and threatening people on our team so it was pretty eventful and stressful. And that was after HER kid was pushing our kids after plays were over and dropping the "f" bomb on the court.
After Kolton's game we stayed after and watched one of his friends from school, Briar, and one of his Defender's teammates, Kolt, play in their Station game.
Bentley had a playdate with his friend from church, Luke Lancaster, on the 8th. They were cracking me up!
This sleeping picture was taken of Bentley on the morning of the 9th. He came into our room at 6:30 that morning and good thing he did because Brady forgot to set his alarm the night before so Bentley was our wake-up call. Haha. Then he got to sleep in our bed which he loved!
On the 10th, Kolton had his dental check up. No cavities for him! Yay! He was so happy to hear that!
We bought a vinyl cutter with our tax return this year. We always try and do something a little fun with some of our tax return money and that is what we did this year. We put "Defenders Never Stop" on Kolton's knee pads. He thought it was pretty cool!
We also made some car decals. We are fully committed to the Defenders! Haha.
Brady wanted to take truffles to work for Valentine's day so Monday I made about 120 truffles! Some of those were for his work and some were for me to take to Kolton's class at school the next day.
Bentley and I went and ate lunch with Kolton on Valentine's Day too!
Then later that afternoon we went up again and passed out the truffles and hung out for a bit with Kolton's class while they passed out their Valentine's.
Kolton got an extra special Valentine from a girl in his class. She gave him the box of chocolates and then a note that said "Dear Kolton. I like you. You should know. Don't tell your mom and dad that I like you." So, naturally he showed it to me right away as well as his teacher. Haha. It was really sweet though!
That night we had basketball practice and then picked up some dinner to eat as a family. It was a fun day!
