Tents::Packages::Soccer

So, it is time for me to play a little catch up on the blogging. I'm a month behind! Oh goodness!
One morning after all the chores were done, Kolton and I decided to build a fort. He really had no idea what to do, so I helped him out. We just got a few chairs and a few sheets and blankets and built one in the living room in front of the tv like I did as a kid and then we ate snacks and lunch in it and played games and read books and watched shows. He thought it was SUPER cool! While eating our grilled cheese sandwiches in the fort, he leaned over to me and said "Mom, you're the best mom!" Gotta love it! On either September 15th or September 16th Kolton got a package in the mail from my family. They had recently gotten back from a vacation in California and had got some things for Kolton while there. We brought the package inside and I let him look at who it was too. He recognized his name and got really excited. I told him it was from Utah and then he knew it was from Grandma and Grandpa Moffett. As he pulled each thing out of the package he got more and more excited. After a couple things he said, "Mom! They sent me lots of stuff! There's more and more and more!" He was really excited to play the Disneyland Candyland.

His favorite treat in there was a Mickey Mouse sucker. He LOVED it! He also thought the toast press was pretty cool. I had no idea what that was, so I thought it was cool too! Every time we make toast he has to use it. :)


In the package there was also a letter telling Kolton that Grandma had sent pictures of them on their vacation. So we ran to the computer and pulled all the pictures up. He thought it was pretty cool that they got to see all the characters.

Kolton's second soccer game was so much fun! He scored I think 3 goals and had a blast. He also thought it was super exciting that his primary teacher, Sis. Maruska, came to watch him and her great nephew, Ethan, who is on Kolton's team. She cheered and cheered for Kolton the whole time. He sure is lucky to have her as his teacher.

After the game that week, they took team pictures. I decided to be cheap and not spend twenty bucks on a picture and took one myself. :)

5 GOALS

Thursday night was another soccer practice for Kolton. He loves, loves, loves it. Sterling started them out with some stretches. Too cute.
Then he taught them how to do jumping jacks. Hilarious.

Then they took turns dribbling through the cones and up to the goal and scoring, then coming back through the cones.



Then they played the monster game where they let the kids and the adults take turns being monsters and taking the ball from each other.

At the end of practice they all sat around Sterling and he had them yell "Go Team!" Kolton's super excited about it! :)

We went to Brady's work and brought them truffles on Friday. He only has one more full week at the branch he's working at and then the next week them spend going to a couple different branches and then the following week they'll finally be in their branch setting it up for the soft open the following week. Brady is really excited for his branch to open. While we were there everyone spoiled Kolton. His favorite treat was a balloon, blown up especially for him. Kolton, Brady and one of the workers at that branch went to the back to blow up the balloon. Kolton picked blue "because its his favorite color." He tells me that all the time. Then as they were blowing it up, I hear from outside, "Daddy, I love you." So sweet!

He's so stinking cute! Probably the most adorable little boy out there! :)


Saturday was Kolton's first soccer game! Sterling was out of town so Brady was the coach. Kolton, Cody, Olivia and Mirena were the first players on the field. They play 4 players from each team. There is supposed to be four-8 minute quarters but the ref said that the kids were having a hard time playing the full time so they reduced it to four-5 minute quarters. You are allowed to sub in at any time, though, so the kids were going in and out every few minutes to make sure everyone had plenty of time to play and were getting lots of breaks too.

They don't keep score, but I did. :) The final score was 13-2. Kolton scored 5 goals, Cody (the boy behind Kolton in the white jersey) scored 4, Olivia scored 3 and Hannah scored 1.


Kolton did awesome! He was having so much fun out there! He wasn't too aggressive, but aggressive enough.

Grandma and Grandpa Brammer and Madison came to watch him.



This is the only video I have from the game. Its definitely not a good one--Kolton barely taps it in the goal--so I'm going to have to make sure and do a better job next week at recording his goals. I love what he does after he scores, though. He's so excited but acts so shy that he just gets this cute little smile on his face, looks at me, and then walks back to the other side of the field playing with his mouth with his fingers.



After the game, Brady took one of his young men out for ice cream for their birthday and to get to know them a little better and talk about the Duty to God program with them. He then went straight from there to go truck shopping with his dad. Then he came home and I went and took pictures of one of my friend's kids and while I was gone Jeff and his kids came over and ate some dinner and watched the BYU game. When I got home my mom called to talk to Kolton about his soccer game. All he said to her was "I scored 5 goals. I love you. Bye." Haha. I worked on both my lessons for the next day (I was subbing in Primary and then was teaching in Relief Society) while all the boys played. Kolton was so good in church on Sunday. I didn't bring my church bag so Kolton didn't really have anything to play with. He had brought with him a couple cars in his scripture bag so he played with those for a little bit but he mostly just sat either next to us or on our laps. He even went and got a drink by himself from the drinking fountain, folding his arms and walking reverently the whole way. Church is getting so easy with him now. That night we were invited to the Smiths. They ended up going to the Jessen's so we went there instead. We spent the whole time sitting outside on the patio watching the kids play in the backyard. Kolton had such a fun time playing with their kids. Him and Brooklyn (their daughter that is in his primary class) are so cute together! They all got along really well and Brady and I had a good time chatting with all the adults.
I also got Proactiv this weekend. I'm really hoping it will help with all the zits I've been getting lately. I'm so over it. My forehead seriously hurts because of it. So frustrating. I'm 25! Why is this happening now!? Anyway, I've used it for the past 2 days, and I know this sounds crazy, but I really think it is already helping. We shall see! But my fingers are crossed!

OK, so blogger is being really weird today---all my pictures keep uploading in weird order...Anyway...
This week has been absolutely GORGEOUS outside! I love, love, love it! Makes me so excited for fall! Kolton has really enjoyed it too--he's been able to play outside EVERY DAY this week! And for more than 10 minutes! Its great!! He always plays a little soccer, a little baseball, a little basketball, and spends some time jumping on the trampoline.
Sometimes, he combines a few of the activities like this time where was shooting basketball while jumping on the trampoline. :)

I just thought this was funny as he was climbing back on to the trampoline after shooting his basketball. Seems a little difficult and not so comfortable to climb back up holding a basketball and only being the size of a 3 year old.

Happy he made a shot! He's so stinking cute! It seems like a lot of people lately have been writing about how they are trying to remind themselves that they are going to miss their kids when they are this age so its really made me think. Makes me sad, now, to see him grow up! He's learning so many things--like now he can not only count up to 15, but backwards, from 15 down to 1. He asks Brady and I all sorts of questions now about how things work. He brought me his Woody doll and asked what "machine" was making Woody talk when he pulled the string.

As we were outside and he noticed I was taking lots of pictures, he said he needed to do lots of poses so I could get some cute ones so here it goes...

Then he took a break from posing and wanted me to take pictures of him falling on the trampoline, so here's a picture of him free-falling.

We had the missionaries over for dinner that night (poor guys came to our house Saturday night--they texted Brady on Thursday or Friday and asked if they could come over on Saturday because they didn't have anyone sign up for them, and then on Sunday, they had 3 days left for this week where no one had signed up again, so I signed up for Tuesday, so they got us 2 times in a matter of days! :)) and Brady starting saying to Kolton in a voice you'd use to talk to babies "You're so cute!"
Kolton replied, "I'm not a baby!"
Elder Curtis said "You're handsome!"
Kolton: "I'm beautiful!"
Me: "Girls are beautiful, boys are handsome."
Kolton: "I want to be a girl!"
Me: "No..."
Kolton: "Cut it off! Cut my penis off so I can be a girl! Cut it off! Cut it off!"
We all started laughing. The elders were laying down on the couch, they were laughing so hard. Kolton asked me why I was all red, that's how hard we were laughing. Oh geez! Haha.

Labor day we went to Penn Square Mall to get Brady some jeans. While we were there he starting feeling really lightheaded so we went home and he went to bed to try and get some rest and see if that would make him better. His parent's had invited us over to have a little barbeque with a family from their ward and Brady really wanted to wash his car so he thought he do it there. He woke up at like 4:30 and decided he was up to going over there so we headed over and ate some dinner and then Kolton rode his bike while Brady washed the car. Kolton loves riding his bike--we just don't really have anywhere for him to ride really. Earlier that day he was riding his bike on our street just going back and forth in front of our house and our neighbor's on each side of us. When I'd tell him a car was coming and to move over to the edge he'd freeze every time. One time he even started to get off his bike to run over to the side of the road and just leave his bike there. Haha. Oh goodness! Anyway, so we thought we'd take his bike over there since we knew we'd be outside and he'd get a chance to ride it without really worrying about cars. He loved it! So, here's a ton of pics of him riding his bike. :)
