This is the Place

On Friday we went to "This is the Place." My mom thought it would be fun since Cam was gone on trek to show Kolton what Cam was doing and how the pioneers lived.  He had so much fun.  He loved doing all the different activities and of course riding the train!! :)

This little cabin was the home to a family of 11! I can't even imagine! I feel like my house is small and it is much larger than this cabin and there's only 3 of us.  It was amazing to really see and envision just how the pioneers lived.

He was pretty nervous to ride the horse and asked Grandma to walk next to him.  Once he started going, though, you could tell he wasn't nervous anymore and really enjoyed it.
Kolton thought the donkey looked sad.  It is kind of sad to see the animals locked up in little areas like that.

Lucky boy got to get an ice cream cone.  He ate all the ice cream off the top and then gave the rest to Grandma so she could eat the cone.  Haha.
Making his little horse.  He also made a pioneer yo-yo in this building too.

He really like stamping the leather.  He'd get really excited each time the stamp would work.  Haha.

One of the last things we did was pan for gold.  Kolton found a really good spot and got I think 11 pieces.  He had fun sifting through the pail and finding the little pieces.

After we were done there (we spent about 4 or so hours there) we stopped by temple square because Kolton wanted to see the temple.  We then decided to go in to the conference center real quick so he could see in there as well.

He then wanted to go on the roof so a tour guide took us up there and showed us around and then we took a couple pictures in front of the temple again.

Inside the conference center you can sign a guest book so Kolton did that.

Grandma bought Kolton a thing of jacks at one of the gift shops at This is the Place.  He and Tyler busted it out as soon as we got home.  :)

The Foys Came to Visit in Utah

Wednesday morning the Foys came to visit! Brittney happened to be in Utah visiting her family as well and so she came up to my parents house for the morning before she then had to drive to Panguitch that afternoon.  The boys had fun playing with each other! They even got out all the barbies! :) Their dads were proud.  Haha.
We then made them some mac and cheese.  When my mom and I were at the store we saw the new Goldfish mac and cheese and thought it would be fun to try it out.  The kids weren't fans.  Haha.

After lunch they headed out to play in the water!

I'm so glad they were able to come over and hang out for a few hours!
That afternoon I worked on Shawn's mission blog book.  It was my goal to get it finished before I left! :) Then that evening Shawn's friends came over and we watched Avengers.  Kolton was excited!
Thursday Kolton and I went with Tyler and got ourselves some free slurpees from 7-11 since it was July 11th.  :) The line was really long but it was fun! We also went to McDonalds and Kolton got to get a Happy Meal which he was excited about.  Haha.
That night Kolton earned the treat of sleeping in Grandma and Grandpa's room.  He was super excited.  Grandpa told him he could if he could put together a puzzle fast enough and he did so we put a mattress on the floor in there and that's where he slept.

Water Fun

On Monday, Kolton had some water fun outside.  Lizzy came over with Korver and Chloe and the boys played outside with Shawn and Cambrea.  They set up the slip n slide, sprinkler, and put the sprinkler under the trampoline.

Monday night we went to Get Air for FHE.  Kolton loves that place.  He just runs around and jumps around everywhere.  He has a blast.  Everyone seemed to have a good time!

After Get Air we headed to Wendy's to get frosties.  Kolton actually got a root beer float instead, but I got a vanilla frosty! Yum! After I put Kolton to bed that night, T, Shawn, Cam and I watched Pitch Perfect.  I've never seen it before so they wanted to watch it with me.
On Tuesday we go stuff ready for Cam to go on Trek the next day.  Mom had to sew a couple of things and then we had to pack it all up.  Us kids made waffles for dinner and then Shawn, Tyler, and I made some salsa that night.  Yum yum!
