Shawn Came to Visit

Bentley's sleep schedule is all sorts of messed up right now.  He falls asleep at weird times for naps and is sleeping poorly at night.  It has been going on for a few months and I don't know why! Anyway, because of it I've been getting lots of chances to snuggle with him during the day.

One night at soccer practice I watched the coach's son because his wife was busy doing something that night.  The boys were cracking me up.  They shared a banana and looked so cute sitting there on the chairs.  I tried to snap a picture of them but in every singe picture one, or both of them, are blurry.  I could not get them to sit still.  So much energy!

Late Friday night (the 13th) Shawn flew in to town.  He had an interview at OU dental school Saturday morning.  We had fun catching up before heading to bed.  Saturday morning Kolton had a soccer game.  It was a cold one! This ended up being Kolton's last game of the season and it was a tough one.  There were all sorts of issues but I won't get into them.  haha.  We ended up losing, which was a bummer.  Bentley looked so cute in his mickey hat and gloves.  Sadly we must have left the gloves on the field because I can't find them anywhere.
After Shawn got home from his interview we went to one of our friend's soccer games.  Kolton was loving having Shawn here and getting spoiled by all the attention.

After the game we stopped by Panda Express (because that is what we do...we eat Chinese on Saturday nights haha).

We came home and ate and watched sports.  Shawn went to church with us the next day and then we took him to the airport.  It was so fun to have him here for a couple of days...wished it could have been longer but we will take what we can get.  ;)
So this picture totally makes me laugh.  I was taking a picture of Kolton but totally got Bentley in the background helping himself to more cereal.  Haha.  He loves cereal lately and will eat it any chance he gets.

Bentley is 2!

Brady was getting his hunting stuff ready to go hunting and Bentley found the headlamp.  He loved wearing it!

He loves his friends, Goofy and Mickey.  It is cute to watch how much he loves them.
This is the last time Bentley went to bed as a 1 year old.  So crazy how that happens.
Brady had the 11th off since it is Veteran's day so he took Kolton hunting.  He felt bad going on Bentley's birthday but I told him Bentley doesn't know the difference...for all he knew he was at work!

The boys left at like 3 in the morning.  I tried to get some more sleep with Bentley.  :)
He sure woke up happy and I was able to enjoy breakfast with this happy 2 year old!
Jason Landrum went hunting with Brady and Kolton and they got a few birds.  Kolton loved hiking to the hunting spots.  :)
Jason let him pose with his gun so he'd "look cooler."  Haha.  Kolton didn't actually shoot any of the ducks...he just got to watch.

Bentley and I met up with his cousins to play at the mall and then we all got cookies afterwards.  The kids were so cute sitting there chowing down on their huge cookies.  I usually get Bentley one of the small ones but decided since it was his birthday he'd get the huge one and he loved it.

Brady and Kolton got home just after lunchtime.  They cleaned up and took a nap for a little bit and then I took Kolton to the store to pick out a toy for Bentley.

He got him a little Buzz Lightyear action figure.  Toy Story is one of the only shows, besides Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, that Bentley will watch so Kolton thought he'd like to have a Buzz.
We then headed to Pie Five for dinner to try that out.  It was ok.  Not sure I'll make the effort to go again haha but it was yummy and Bentley loved it and that is all that matters.  :) He kept saying "birthday" the whole time we were there.  It was cute.
Bentley had his two year check up on his birthday as well.  He did awesome at the doctor and Dr. Milligan said he was an excellent talker and was very impressed with how expressive and vocal he was.  So, that was good news.  He'll even say mini sentences now like "Mickey Mouse on please" or "I don't know."  It is adorable.  Bentley weighed 27 lbs 6 ounces, which puts him at the 57% for weight.  He was 35 3/4 inches long which puts him at the 83% for height.  So, he is on the same track as his 18 month check up.  He still is as sweet as can be.  Unfortunately he stinks at sleeping.  For about the last 3 months he has not been good.  Haha.  I don't know what happened.  We are going to have to work on that.  He also got his binkie back (when I had my surgery) and is attached to it even more now than he was before.  He loves to eat cereal (marshmallow mateys to be exact) and loves to eat it with a Buzz spoon we got out of a cereal box.  He is excellent at saying "please" and "thank you" and "sorry." He can follow pretty much any instructions you give him now.  He has the cutest little run and I love watching it.  He just makes my heart melt. Its been an amazing two years with this little guy!

Kolton's Soccer Game

Later on Saturday Kolton had a soccer game.  He was super excited Grandma and Grandpa were going to be able to come! He played awesome and his team won.  It was 7-3 and Kolton scored 2 goals.  He was so happy he was able to score a couple of goals since they were there.  This was the first soccer game my dad has ever been to and then my mom hasn't been to one since Kolton was 3 or 4 so it is a lot different now.

Bentley had to take his new Goofy and Mickey along to Kolton's soccer game. :)

After Kolton's game we picked up dinner at Panda Express and came home to enjoy some sports and relax.  Bentley enjoyed playing with all his new toys some more.

We got an air mattress out for my dad to use and the kids thought it would be fun to pile on there with him.  Haha.
Sunday we had a regional conference so we played a little that morning and then had to get ready to be at church at 11:00.

Once we got home we hung out for a little bit before we had to take my parents to the airport for my mom's flight and then for my dad to pick up his rental care and head to his hotel to get ready for work the next week.  It was so fun having them both here for a few days and my mom for a week! The kids loved all the time they got to spend with them!

Bentley's Birthday Party

Friday night my Dad flew in.  His work contacted him that week and told him that he was going to be coming to Oklahoma on Monday.  So, I told my mom that he should fly out on Friday if he can and stay with us.  That way she could see him for a couple of days and he could be here for Bentley's party and stuff.  It worked out and so Brady picked him up from the airport on Friday after work.  They came home and picked us up and then we headed to Ted's.  We had a good evening and then everyone headed to bed so we could get ready for Bentley's birthday party the next morning.
My parents headed to Crest to pick up Bentley's cake and some ice cream and Brady and I headed to the dollar store to pick up balloons.  My mom had ordered this "Pin the Nose on Mickey" game off of Amazon so we didn't have to make one.  Haha.  Bentley loved it and it was super cute!

We also played "freeze dance" where I just played the Hot Dog Dance song and paused it on the TV every few seconds.  The kids were so cute dancing.  At first Bentley didn't really do much but then he got into it and it was adorable.
Bentley caught on to how to open presents real quick.  He loved them all and was so stinking cute to watch.  He is just adorable in every way.

He got tons of Mickey Mouse toys which he loves.  That is pretty much the only show he will watch and he loves all the characters on there!

We had hotdogs for lunch which was totally last minute.  Like minutes before the party was supposed to start my mom thought of it and sent Brady and my dad to the store. It went perfectly with the Mickey Mouse theme.

Bentley loved the cake of course and still loves to play with the car that came on it!

I think he had an awesome time at his party and loved all the presents and new toys he got.  I was pretty  nervous to see how he'd react since sometimes he hates the attention on him and will get mad if people are looking at him but he ate it up at the party.  It was awesome!! I'm so grateful my parents were there too.  They helped a ton!
