Saturday, the 27th, was a busy day for us! Brady worked in the morning and then right when he got home we headed to Kolton's soccer game. It was the second one this season and they won 11-1. After his game we headed straight to a birthday party of a boy in his class at the bowling alley. Right after that we ran him to Pierson's birthday party. We just dropped him off there because Bentley had a fever.
Kolton had his primary program on Sunday, September 28th. He did AMAZING! His part was "The family is central to God's plan. I have this many people in my family. (holding up 5 fingers) I am so glad we can be together forever." He said it perfectly and sang all the songs and sat so reverently. I am so proud of him. Brady's parents came to watch him too.
That evening he talked on the phone with my mom and told her his part and then read her an entire book. He is getting SO good at reading! Just at the beginning of the school year when he'd read his verse in the scriptures in the morning he would have to sound a lot of words out. Now he can recognize most of them and just read them as quickly as I would. It is amazing to see his progress!
Mr. Bentley had hand, foot, and mouth disease this weekend but you'd never guess it! When Kolton had it he was miserable! Bentley (besides his fever) hardly seemed to notice anything wrong. Luckily his fever broke Saturday night so we were able to all go to church on Sunday to see Kolton. Anyway, proof yet again of Bentley's messes.
Today, October 3rd, Kolton had his school pictures. He looked as handsome as always. I love taking pictures of him because he just poses himself in all different ways without me telling him to. Haha.
These are random pictures from my phone and are out of order. A few Saturdays ago we went to a trampoline place in Edmond for a birthday party. Kolton and Brady had a blast (even though Brady threw out his back). :)
We went on a date one evening and Brady's parents babysat. We came home and Bentley was loving riding on this bike. They'd let him go down the driveway and he would giggle and giggle.
The weekend before we went camping Andrew Himes had his birthday party. He wanted to ride bikes at the park on the dirt trails. We went to leave and Kolton's bike tire was flat. So Brady went to 4 stores looking for a tire tube and no one sold 18" tubes so Brady ended up just buying Kolton a new bike. Haha. He bought him a 20" bike so he can grow into it so that is good. Kolton had fun getting muddy and dirty!
The next morning was Kolton's first soccer game. It was pretty freezing so we had to bundle up!
Here's our cute soccer player the morning of his first game.
On Sunday we went to the Brammers for a birthday dinner for Adam. The kids all ended up playing in puddles and taking their shirts off. It was too funny not to take a picture. :) Look at all those boys!!
My Dad came to town last weekend. He wanted to come see Kolton practice but by the time he got there practice was over. We ended early because only two kids showed up. Our team is really good but it is beyond frustrating how no one shows up to practice. Half of the kids are on a baseball team too and so they choose those practices over the soccer practices. I wish they would show some dedication to this team as well but all well. Anyway, so Kolton and my dad shot goals on each other and took turns playing goalie.
After that we came home and waited for Brady to get home and then we went to Chili's for dinner. Then my Dad was able to come over Friday night as well and I made dinner and we hung out for a couple hours before he had to head back to his hotel to get some sleep before his early flight the next morning. We always love when he is able to come to Oklahoma and visit. It is great to see him!
Here's a snapshot of Kolton on the day of his program. :)
And another of Bentley's messes. Haha.
Brady had a job interview on Wednesday afternoon. He got a new suit for the occasion. He looked awesome in it! Here's to hoping it helps him get a new job! ;)
Thursday afternoon after school Kolton went and go the brush and brushed my hair. It was amazing! I love that kid!
Kolton called us from his room to show us that Bentley had just crawled over to him, stood up on him and gave him cuddles. Bentley sure does love Kolton and he is such a sweet cuddler. He will just lean his head in to you. It is super sweet.
I surprised Kolton today with Chick Fil A for lunch. He came walking down the hallway at his school on his way to the cafeteria and when he saw me his eyes lit up and he started waving and had a huge smile on his face. His substitute (because his teacher has been absent all week...she is the sweetest lady but I think has been absent 9 days so far this year and we are only a month and a half in...) asked him if I was his mom and then let him come to me. He was so excited to see me and thought it was so cool I brought him lunch. We had fun eating together. I'm so glad I was able to do that.
