Welcome Baby Emery!!

It is so nice to have Brady back! He got home on Thursday afternoon just in time for me to go to the hospital to see Emery be born! Kolton has loved hanging out with Brady ever since I got back from Utah. While Brady was gone every time he'd hear a car lock he'd think Brady was home and get all excited...every time we'd come home from an errand he'd think Brady was home waiting for us...it was sad. BUT we are glad he's home now! I even surprised him with a painted office when he came home! Its so great to have it painted and he's happy he didn't have to do it! ;)

Kade came over to our house on Thursday, the 4th at 5:00 in the morning so his parents could head to the hospital to have Emery! We had so much fun having him at our house! Brady came home at about noon and then I headed up to the hospital. Brady took the boys to his parents house to pick up the pack and play so Kade would have a place to sleep that night and to let the boys play outside because it was BEAUTIFUL out there!
Both mornings the boys took a bath together. They LOVED it! They had so much fun splashing around and playing with the cars and trucks. They were obviously naked so I had to do a little editing... :)

They found a pair of Kolton's floaties and both wanted to wear them. They just played and played all day!

I made it JUST in time to see Emery be born! I went up to the hospital when Brittney was a 5, was there for maybe 30 minutes and then Brittney was a 10! She's crazy fast! She only had to do a little half push and Emery was born! I've only seen one delivery but that is seriously the fastest thing I've seen! :) Emery was born at 1:23 and weighed 7 lbs 2 oz and was 22 inches long. I am so glad I was able to be there for her birth! I'm so glad Brittney invited me to be there! They are our bestest friends and I'm so happy for them to have this sweet little girl! It was such a happy experience--I was teary throughout the whole thing! ;)

Brady REALLY wanted to share his sucker with her...Brittney didn't think it would be a good idea. :)

Look at that bow! So cute! She is so beautiful! I love it!

Here's Kade meeting her for the first time. So sweet! He loves giving her kisses!

Kolton is pretty obsessed with Baby Emery too. He always wants to look at her and hug her and kiss her! He loves Brittney too!

Kade got one of those coloring books and markers that only work on the paper they are made for. Each of the boys got to color a picture. They are such good artists! ;)

I was changing Kolton's diaper one night and he started doing the "Little Piggies" to himself. He did it so cute I wanted to video him. I told him I was going to video him and asked him to do it again and he did a pretty good job the second time around--not as good as the first time but pretty good! That's how it always goes, though! ;)

Catch-Up

So, I'm sure everyone's been wondering where I've been...Right? :) I have been so busy lately! I can't believe its been almost a month since I've updated last! That is SO not me!
Brady was stretching one night and Kolton went over and starting stretching with him. Well, really, he thought Brady was trying to push that beam, but it was still cute!

Kolton loves going tubing! He will ride on that thing for forever! He's so cute in all his winter clothes!

On Thursday, February 18, Kolton and I left to go to Utah to see my family. My brother Shawn was entering in to the MTC the next Wednesday so we wanted to spend some time with him before he left and listen to his farewell talk.
We had a luncheon/dinner for all the family and Shawn's friends on Sunday. Kolton was sitting next to me on a chair watching a movie literally about to fall off while coming in and out of sleep. I picked up him and he fell asleep no more than 5 seconds after he got on my lap. He was OUT!

Jaycee and Adam came up from Provo to listen to Shawn's talk and see Kolton and I. It was so great to see them and so nice of them to come. Kolton was a little shy around them, but before it was time for them to leave he'd give them hi-5s and knuckles. ;) It just takes him a little bit to warm up to people and remember who they are.

Here are some pictures of Shawn and some of his closest friends and also a picture of him and my mom at the luncheon. There were so many people there! Easily 65-70! It was a lot of fun! We had sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, chips and salsa, cookies and cheesecake, yummy candy and desserts--it was GOOD food!

Derek and his wife Lizzie have a little Yorkie named Cookie. Kolton loved playing with her! He would chase her around the house over and over and over. He also loved holding her and would just giggle and crack up the whole time. I think he liked that she was so small. He's so used to being around GINORMOUS dogs, that Cookie was a nice little change.

We celebrated Tyler's birthday while we were there on Monday, the 22nd. He turned 17! He got lots of cool things and we had a great time with lots of joking around and playing games! ;)

His friend, Daysha, came and decorated his room after school. It was my job to make sure he didn't go downstairs while she was doing it and then to somehow lure him down there without telling him so she could surprise him.

We went to the Salt Lake Temple on Tuesday. Shawn wanted to go to the Salt Lake Temple to experience a live session and be able to go with me. It was a lot of fun! Cambrea, Tyler, and my cousin Jessica stayed at home and watched Kolton for us! They did great and Kolton had a great time with them! Our uncle Raleigh came to the temple with us, as well as our Grandma and Grandpa Ames and uncle Ben and aunt Gina and their son Nathan, who were down from Washington because Nathan was entering the MTC the same day as Shawn just 15 minutes before him! It was great!

I took the liberty of helping Shawn go through ALL of his stuff and help him pack for 2 years! He needed lots of guidance! ;)

Tuesday night Shawn got set apart to be a missionary. It was such a fun and sad night all at the same time. The member of the stake presidency that was setting him apart happened to be one of Shawn's best friend's dad who just left to go on his mission in October. President Steele let each of say something to Shawn to wish him luck and give him advice and let him know how much we care about him. Kolton was not prepared for such an event, so my mom had to dig through her purse to find things for him to play with. ;) Shawn's going to be such a great missionary though! I'm so excited for him to be able to have the experiences he's going to have!

Shawn's friend Taylor was being set apart after Shawn so we saw him as we were leaving. Shawn was pretty excited to rub it in Taylor's face that he was set apart before him so that made Taylor the last missionary of the group. ;) Those boys are such a crack-up!

We left Wednesday morning to drive to the MTC. Shawn was supposed to report at 1:00. Kolton had fun riding next to him in the car and playing games with him.

We stopped by Subway before dropping the boys off at the MTC.

We also made a pit-stop at the Provo Temple to take some pictures.

Here's our family together one last time before Shawn left to go on his mission (minus Brady)!

Shawn was so excited to go to the MTC I barely got a hug from him! ;) Just kidding! He was sure to give everyone a hug but he was VERY excited to go start his mission! After 3 weeks in the MTC he'll be going to the Tampa, Florida mission! Which, in case you didn't know--we actually lived there for 3 years before we moved to Oklahoma! ;) I'm sure he'll never serve in the actual ward we were in, but its still funny! We are going to miss him but are so excited and proud of him!

Brady got me roses to welcome me home! He's so sweet! Kolton and I had a blast in Utah! It was nice, though, to come home and see Brady! Even if it was only for 3 days...He just left on a work trip and won't be back until Thursday. :( Hopefully he makes it back in time to watch the boys (Kolton and Kade) so I can be up at the hospital for the Foy's baby girl to come!

baby SHOWER

Tuesday was Brittney's baby shower for baby #2-Emery! She came over on Tuesday to help make some white chocolate popcorn and help with the cake (I need a lot of moral support and encouragement AND help putting fondant on the cake).
The boys played and played. They are so funny! They love to copy each other and think its hilarious. One will make a silly noise or strike a pose then the other and then they bust up laughing at each other. They got to eat corn dogs together with their shirts off! Kolton thought it was pretty awesome they were both "nakie" because, well, to him, if either your shirt or pants are off, you're "nakie."
We tried to get a picture of both of them looking at the camera smiling--we didn't succeed. ;)

Brittney's baby shower was so much fun! It was held at Kathrine Neale's house. There was 16 people there and some brought gifts from other people who couldn't make it so Brittney got lots of girl clothes and bows and such! It was great!
The food was delicious! Jamie makes the freakin best chicken salad sandwiches so I HAD to make her bring them! Kathrine did the fruit and it looked AWESOME! Such a good idea to put the pineapple top on the plate! We also had a vegetable tray, truffles, candy, cake and punch. I stole the design for the cake from someone else but I love it! I love how the whole cake is shimmery, the black icing on the bottom tier is shimmery, I love the craziness of the ribbon on the top tier, I love the color pink the fondant turned out to be--I just love it! You can't really tell in the pictures, but Brittney and I brushed the entire cake with a shimmer dust that Wilton makes. Its awesome! I love it!

Jamie was also nice enough to condense the presents as they were opened for easier transporting. She also folded every single piece of tissue paper! She's awesome! Unfortunately, the group picture we got doesn't have everyone in it. Obviously we're missing Julie, who took the picture, and then 4 more ladies who had to leave for various reasons. It was a fun time, though!

Kolton takes a shower with me almost every day. Once I'm done in the shower I'll leave the water running and let him play in the water while I get dressed and then I go back and get him and get him ready. Anyway, this morning when I got out of the shower I plugged the drain so he could have a little bath. I was going to turn off the water after a couple of minutes but as I got out of the shower my phone was ringing. I forgot I left the water running with him in there until after I got off the phone with Brittney and in 5 minutes, the bath tub had filled almost to the top. He thought it was pretty cool!

We were getting ready to head out this afternoon to run some errands and Kolton found Brady's xbox gear and had to be just like his Daddy! :) He loves to play "daddy's game" with Brady.

Snowed In

The last few days have been fun! Thursday and Friday were pretty much spent at home.
I finally have found a cookie recipe that both Brady and I love! Its great! The cookie dough is yummy and the cookies are yummy! Its fantastic! Kolton enjoyed them too!
Check out that chocolate face! ;)

On Saturday Kolton got to play with some play dough. He had fun pushing it through the little tube thing that made it have different designs. I was surprised though, that he didn't try and mix the colors. I was nervous I'd be freaking out the whole time trying to keep the color separate, but he wasn't interested in mixing them. It was great! ;)

One day Brady was outside cleaning the car off (which took over 45 minutes one time) and Kolton was playing in the snow. He loved walking around in it! I need to find him some gloves, though, that aren't fabric. He'd wear his gloves for a couple minutes but after that they'd be wet and make his hands super cold. He eventually was wearing my gloves to keep his hands warm. He couldn't do much with his hands but they were warm!

On Saturday Brady played soccer down in Norman with some Norman 4th warders and his brother Dylen. Kolton absolutely loved watching them play! He just sat there the whole time and watched and cheered! It was great! Brady really enjoyed playing too! He's missed playing soccer!

Every picture I have of him playing everyone is blurry. Kind of a bummer, but this is the best one. Brady scored constantly! He was awesome!

Here is a picture of how the city looks after the storm. It is SO pretty! I love it!

We have gotten some HUGE icicles! Easily a couple feet long! Brady introduced Kolton to a must have childhood experience--eating icicles! Kolton loves knocking them down off the roof and breaking them as well as sucking on them!

Saturday morning Kolton didn't wake up until 10:53! 10:53! It was crazy! When he woke up I didn't know what to feed him--lunch or breakfast! Well, it totally jacked up his normal "schedule." Come 5:30 he decided he wanted to cuddle with Brady. Within a couple minutes he was OUT and slept on Brady until the Foys came over at about 6:30. Not the longest nap, but I love it when he cuddles with Brady. I think its so sweet!

Here's one of the super long icicles we've had.
Tonight is Brittney's baby shower so I'd better go and get to work finishing the cake and goodies for it!
