Utah Trip, Part 2 (the wedding)

Derek and Lizzie were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. It was an amazing ceremony. Brady and I really like the sealer they had, and turns out he was my Uncle Ben's mission president, so that was kind of cool. He had some really nice advice to give and reminded us all of things we can do in our marriages to strengthen them.

We waited outside the temple for probably 15-20 minutes for Derek and Lizzie to come out. My siblings had watched Kolton again that morning and met us up at the temple when it was time for us to come out. Those that were at the sealing included, myself and Brady, my parents, Lizzie's parents, my Grandma and Grandpa Ames, my mom's sister, Rulene, my mom's brother, Ben (who surprised Derek the morning of the wedding), my aunt Kim and uncle Raleigh Ames, my aunt Sonja and uncle Jeremy Ames, Derek's old boss, Andy and his wife, Derek's friend, Nathan, who came from Oklahoma, and a few aunts and uncles of Lizzie's (I know this is embarrassing, but I can't remember their names).

Yes, Kolton is wearing the same outfit he wore to Jaycee and Adam's wedding, but it matched and is super cute so we thought it would be perfect for Derek's wedding too! Here he is with his Grandma Moffett while we waited for Derek and Lizzie to come out of the temple.

This is my brother Tyler, who is 16 (in the background you can see my Uncle Ben and cousin Kyle who surprised Derek at the wedding).
Although the temperature was awesome (like 70) it was getting pretty hot with the sun beating on you so Brady and T went and sat under some of the trees. I don't know what kind of trees those are but they create some serious shade! They are so dense, I couldn't believe it!

Here they are! The newest Mr. and Mrs. Moffett! They looked so cute!

And they sure did love kissing for the camera (as most newlyweds do I suppose!).

This was the first time my brother was seeing Kyle, our cousin who flew in from Washington to surprise Derek. It was so neat that him and his Dad were able to do that and be there for Derek's wedding.

There were lots of pictures to be taken, so Brady and Kolton sat on a bench waiting in between pictures they were needed in. They are both so handsome I can hardly stand it!

This is a picture of the bridesmaids and groomsmen with the bride and groom. My sister, Cambrea is on the far left and my brothers, Shawn and Tyler are on the bottom row on the right.

With the parents.

Me with my cousin Kyle and Uncle Ben at the temple. I have such a fun family!

And finally, Kolton with his Grandpa Moffett walking around the temple grounds to the next picture location.
I wish I had a group shot of everyone there at the temple, but I guess I'm just going to have to get that from someone some other time.

Utah Trip, Part 1 (of many!)

We went to Utah this last week for Derek and Lizzie's wedding. Kolton and I left the morning of the 4th of August and Brady came that afternoon. We were so excited! I am so happy Derek and Lizzie were able to be married and we were able to come be a part of it as well as visit with my family!
On Wednesday, the 5th (mine and Brady's 4 year anniversary) Derek and Lizzie went through the temple together for the first time to receive their endowments at the Bountiful LDS Temple. It was neat they were able to do that together. We like being at the temple on our anniversary, too! My other siblings, Shawn, Tyler, and Cambrea watched Kolton for us for about 4 hours while we were there. They then met up with us at Applebees for dinner afterward. If you know Kolton, then you know how much fun my siblings had watching him. ;) haha

Here are Derek and Lizzie with Lizzie's parents on the left and my parents on the right just outside the Bountiful Temple.

We wanted a picture with Derek and Lizzie as well. There were lots of people there supporting them. My Grandma and Grandpa Ames came, as well as my aunt Rulene Walk. Derek's friend Nathan Green came (even though he got put in the wrong session...) and then our parents were there too. Lizzie's parents and aunt and uncle also came. There were several others in their session that were going through the temple for the first time, so it was really full!

We decided to take a picture of us since it was our anniversary. It's been a wonderful 4 years! We have gone through so much in such a short time, sometimes it is hard to believe that it has only been 4 years! We look forward to many more, though, together! We have been blessed with two wonderful and beautiful children, Lillian and Kolton, during these last 4 years and feel very blessed!

Kolton was very spoiled while we were in Utah. He could get anyone to do anything with or for him the entire time! Him and Grandma watched a movie together.

And enjoyed a few laughs!

They were having so much fun that my brother, Shawn, decided to join in.

Tyler loved to carry Kolton around. Kolton got quite a few rides on Tyler's shoulders while we were there.

He also loved following Cambrea around. If she left the room, he was the first to notice and call after her. It was too funny. He was pretty good at saying every one's names, except for Cam's. Hers sounded a little like "mew". Weird, I know. I don't know where that came from, but he said it the first day and it stuck for the whole trip.

Kolton loves to tackle people--so here he is tackling Grandpa!
I'm going to split the trip in to several posts so it isn't so overwhelming. More is to come!

Game Night

Friday night we went to the batting cages. I did horrible this time! I only hit maybe 5 or 6 of the 24 balls that were pitched to me! I don't know what the deal was! Brady did awesome, of course! Before we hit some balls we let Kolton play on some of the games. He loved the bowling!
While Brady got the card, Kolton sat here and "raced" his car. He's a very skilled race car driver--he doesn't even have to look at the screen!
Then we went bowling. Brady helped him out a few times to get him going. After a few tries, Kolton was ready to do it himself. He didn't throw the balls, though, he would roll them down the lane. Poor little guy couldn't get them going very fast so he would only knock down a pin or two if he was lucky! :)

It was fun to let him do that! I know it doesn't look like he is loving it by the serious look on his face, but he was loving it! We had a lot of fun!

I can't believe we leave for Utah one week from today! I'm so excited! I'm so happy for my brother and his soon to be wife! I'm excited to see them all and spend time with them! I want to start packing now, but that would just be crazy--or would it? :)

M&M Cookies

This is what Kolton does with a package of cookies:
He "tasted" 11 cookies only to put them back after just a couple nibbles. Some were eaten more than others, but some just had one bite taken out of them. What a silly kid!

Our {NEW} Toy

Tonight Brady and his Dad went and pick up this "new" toy for our family! The Lancasters, a family in our ward was giving away their trampoline for free and so we jumped (no pun intended) on it and called right away! Kolton absolutely LOVES it! He loves jumping on his own, but especially loves it when Brady or I get up there and jump with him. He giggles and giggles and giggles. We definitely need to get a trampoline enclosure, though! The only trampoline he has ever been on is my parent's trampoline and that one is in the ground so we don't have to worry about him falling off. Anyway, it definitely was a hit and we are excited to have it!

Here is Kolton his first time trying it out. It took us a long time to set this thing up and Kolton had to watch the whole time and so he was pretty excited to finally be able to get on and go at it.
He was seriously scaring me as he would run around and to the edges of the trampoline!

I don't know what the deal is, but you get pretty filthy after jumping on it! Look at that face!

Kolton and Brady dancing/jumping! ;)

This was one of Kolton's favorite positions to jump in on the trampoline.

Swimming with the Revells!

We had such a fun weekend! We got to hang out with the Revells! We spent some time at their home on Friday night and then went swimming at Shana's parent's house on Saturday night! It was so fun! Sadly, Kolton is literally scared for his life when he sees Kit, but we work through it...Seriously, though, poor Kit scares him. Don't know why-hopefully Kolton will get over that soon!
Here's Kolton and Brady swimming. Kolton didn't spend a ton of time in the pool (Kit was in there) but when Kit went to make dinner, Kolton took that as an opportunity for some fun in the water! ;)
Brigham sporting his lovely orange goggles! So cute! He is only 2 1/2 and can swim without his floaties under the water! This kid can hold his breath for a good 30 seconds or so! It is awesome!

Kolton had fun playing basketball when he wasn't in the water.

Brigham loved this! Kit would run off the diving board with him and would throw him in to the air as he jumped off. It was so funny!

Brigham and Kolton posing for a picture.

Here's a video of Kolton swimming. It is so funny to me the way he swims. He moves those little arms and legs so fast but doesn't really seem to GO anywhere. If he's lucky, he'll go in circles. It is too funny!
Thanks Shana and Kit for letting us come and have fun with you! You guys are such awesome friends!

Yes, we start 'em young...

And with the chocolate too...
This is just a video from this morning's bath. He discovered a new way to make a BIG splash.

A Few Summer Days

We have had a busy week! Last week, Kolton and I went to Pelican Bay with the Foys, Lambournes, and the Nicholsons. It was fun! Kolton loves to play in the water, so he really enjoyed it! You can see pictures here. I didn't feel like lugging my camera around, but Brittney took some pictures. We also went swimming with the Foys at their pool, where Kolton really is getting so good at swimming! It is so darling!
Brady's second season of softball started last week as well. He absolutely loves it! It is fun for Kolton and I to go and cheer him on as well as chat with the other wifes and their children.
Kolton also came down with Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. Oh My Goodness! Seriously, I don't know why this disease isn't talked about more! It is THE worst! I don't know if Kolton just got it really bad or what, but it has been the hardest last several days there is! Thursday night we didn't get home from Brady's game until about 10:45, so by the time I put Kolton to bed, it was about 11:15. He woke up at 11:45, but went back to sleep on his own but then woke up again at 1:01. He usually doesn't do that so I figured something was wrong (whether he was scared, or whatever). So, I brought him into bed with us. He just squirmed and cried for several minutes so I took him out to the living room so we wouldn't disturb Brady. We were up until 6:30!! He just was in a lot of pain and really unhappy. He finally fell asleep on me on the couch at 6:30 and that is where we slept until 9:30. Then we noticed he had a rash all over the palms of his hands and feet and several blisters in his mouth. He would not eat or drink ANYTHING. Kolton will drink 6-8 sippy cups of liquid each day, easily, but we were struggling to get him to drink 1 cupful. Sunday was the worst with a high fever and still no eating or drinking and a lot of crying and whining. Poor guy! It was so sad! He had at least 10 blisters on the roof of his mouth and at least 5 ulcers on his tongue. Then the rash on his hands and feet turned into blisters (which aren't supposed to hurt actually). Finally today he has eaten! Yay! He ate a normal breakfast and a normal lunch with a normal snack! I'm SO happy! He even slept in his crib last night until 5:15 without waking up! I am so glad a kid can only get this once and he doesn't have to suffer through it again!

Kolton loves apples and loves to stand at the counter whenever I'm working in the kitchen, so we paired them together and he ate an apple while I worked on unloading the dishwasher.

Kolton does a lot of running around at the softball games--it is actually rather tiring to keep up with him and keep him close. For a few minutes, though, he stopped and just watched them play through the fence. It was so nice!

Here are all the babies that come watch their dads! Kade, Tucker, Ross, and Kolton.

My poor sick baby...I should have taken pictures of the blisters to show you! We brought the matress out to the living room again so he could lay there all day and watch t.v. with us.

Kolton is hilarious when he plays with his basketball goal. He will use balls like this one and try and make a basket in the hoop like that. It makes me laugh!

Kolton and I were playing in his room today and he left and brought back Brady's shoes that were in the living room. He looked so cute in them!

We tried to fix his hair today with some of Brady's hair gel. It actually stayed up, so that was nice. He definitely needs a trimming of some of the hairs, but we're waiting to do that in Utah...
