Tuesday

On Monday at school Kolton was chosen to be the line leader.  When you are the line leader you also get to take home a "Guess Box." You are supposed to put something in there that you want to show the class and then you give the class 3 hints and they try to guess what you brought.  Kolton was super excited to do this on Tuesday! Like REALLY excited!
He chose to bring his medals from the sports he has played and the one he got from the library.
The hints he was going to give were...
1. It is gold.
2. He got it from a sport.
3. You wear it around your neck.
It was so cute after school to listen to him tell how it all happened and what the kids guessed etc.  He thought it was pretty cool!
I also got an email from Kolton's teacher.  This is what she said:
"He is really a great boy! He shows a lot of respect and enthusiasm! That is great for a boy.  I can already tell he will be a wonderful student for his teachers to come..."
So nice to hear good things from his teacher!
Tuesday night we went to watch Brady play basketball.  Brady's so fun to watch! And Kolton loves going there!
We've been going a little early so that Kolton can play some before all the guys get there.  Sometimes Kolton will even wear his basketball shoes that a friend gave him.

This face makes me laugh.  Hahaha.
Ever since starting school Kolton loves even more to color and draw.  He does it a lot.  Even at basketball. :)

Swimming

On Tuesday, the 28th, Kolton and I went swimming with the Foys at a friend's pool.  We were going to take them to the OU pool but realized that morning that the pool is only open for laps so Brittney called a friend and asked if we could come swim in their pool and they were nice enough to let us!
Kolton thought it was the best pool ever! He asked if he could have his birthday party there.  Haha.  Too bad his birthday is in December.  :)
He swam the entire time without his floaties.  He did awesome! At first he was a little nervous but he did great.  Its so awesome he can swim now! I obviously have to watch him the entire time, but it is just great to see him learn a new skill like that!
He even jumped off the diving board a few times.  A couple times he did tricks like spinning and stuff.

The kids seemed to have a really great time! I'm so glad we were able to go swimming that morning!
Here's a video of him swimming to me and doing some flips.  :)

Dog Collars

Saturday night, the 25th of August, we went to Jeff and Vanessa's house to celebrate London's birthday.  The boys played out in their backyard almost the entire time.  I swear, the only times they were in was when we ate dinner or ate cake.  :)
On Sunday we went over to the Brammer's for dinner.  We also took some pictures of a few things they want us to sell for them on craigslist (a sleep number bed, an armoire, nightstands, and a bed frame). While we were there they gave us this green bucket for popcorn.  I told Kolton that he could have popcorn after fhe on Monday night.  So, after fhe he was excited to eat some popcorn!
Kolton likes to make faces for me when I take pictures.  I have about 15 pictures of him sitting there eating his popcorn with different faces in each picture.  :)
We learned about Abinadi for our lesson and then played Candyland for our activity.  Kolton always leads the music for fhe and he usually picks songs with actions.  He picked "Book of Mormon Stories" on Monday and he had a hard time doing the signs and leading.  It was pretty hilarious to watch.  :)
Brady recently picked up a hobby of making dog collars.  He loves it.  He cuts the leather, stitches it, dyes it, punches the holes in it, picks out and puts all the rivets and conchos in it and everything.  He's had a fun time learning about it all.
Here are some of the collars he has made.

Here's Missy wearing one of them.  I think it looks awesome on her!

Rock Star!

One of Brady's customers at the bank just opened a bakery.  Its called Baked and they make cakes, cupcakes, brownies and cookies.  Brady has ordered a couple cakes from there for people at his work and now we've tried their cupcakes and brownies a number of times.  :) We went on their first day open and picked up a half dozen cupcakes.  They were yummy! My favorites are the strawberry and the red velvet.  Brady loves the "chocolate wasted" cupcakes.  Kolton likes the brownies the best.  Anyway, we've never gone to a cupcake place like this because I can't stomach paying $6 a cupcake but this place is a lot cheaper (the cupcakes are smaller)! And we really like going because we know the couple that own it.  AND they are yummy! :)

The second week of school was a "spirit week" for Kolton.  One day was "wear your clothes backwards." Kolton thought it was pretty funny.  I also got to help at Kolton's school that afternoon.  His teacher asked me to come help them take pictures of the kids that they are going to give to their parents to remember what they looked like at the beginning of pre-k.

On Wednesday (I believe) of that week Kolton had Andrew over to play.  They played so quietly together I hardly knew anyone was in there!
Thursday was "dress like a rockstar" day.  All we really did was buy some blue hair spray and spiked his hair and put a bandana on.  He thought it was SO cool! We had to go up to Brady's work so we could show him.  He absolutely loved having blue hair.  :)

 He is so stinking cute!

We went to lunch with Brady's parents that afternoon.  Kolton was at school so it was just us. I also went visiting teaching on Friday afternoon while Kolton was at school.  Its weird not having him home all the time and going places without him.  But, I wouldn't change it.  He absolutely loves going to school and that makes me happy!

Sunday!

Sunday evening (around 7:30 or so) we went to Little River Park to go on a walk.  Xara had just gone to the vet on Thursday and received her last set of vaccinations so she was finally able to go somewhere with us! We also decided to let Kolton ride his bike.  On Sundays he isn't allowed to ride his bike (one of our rules for our family) but we'll let him if we are going on a family walk.
Anyway, we headed to the park and I took pictures.  Haha.  Because that's what I do.
After we walked around the park once, Brady, Xara and I sat down in between the two ponds.  Kolton rode his bike back and forth on the sidewalk that goes in between the ponds.

Kolton would stop and come sit with us after a pass or two on his bike.  He also spent a lot of time throwing rocks into the pond.  He'd get really excited about all the big splashes the big rocks would make.

He'd ride as fast as he could as he'd go past us.  He's such a boy!

It was a great Sunday evening! We have really been enjoying the weather we've had lately! It has been great to be able to go outside and have a good time without choking on the heat.  :)
We also found out on Sunday that on September 2nd at 10:00 we'll be having a special meeting to figure out what new ward we'll be in.  The ward boundaries are going to be realigned! I'm excited to find out but I'm also pretty sad about it too.  I've really come to love the people in our ward.  We've been in this ward for 6 years now and so its definitely going to be a change for us.
