UTAH TRIP!!!

I know this is a LONG post but we just had TOO much fun I couldn't just post a picture or two, so here you go! Kolton and I deserted poor Brady for 10 days and went and had a blast with my family in Kaysville, Utah. While we were gone Brady got super sick, started his semester at OU, and played lots of Call of Duty! :)

My parents have two dogs, a Golden Retriever named Lexi, and a beagle mix named Sally. Kolton wasn't TOO interested in them, since we have dogs too, but one day he thought it would be fun to get in Lexi's bed. It was too funny. Of course by the time I got the camera out, he rolled out of the bed, but you get the idea.

We went bowling one night at Hill AFB. It was pretty fun--even though by the time we were actually able to bowl it was way past Kolton's bed time and he was tired of being told he couldn't go out on the lanes...It was fun though to spend time with the family! And bowling is always fun!!

SNOW

This was Kolton's first time EVER to see or touch snow. He didn't so much like it...but it was fun anyway!

DRINKING FOUNTAIN FUN
My parents have a drinking fountain in their kitchen. Kolton thought it was pretty cool. He would ALWAYS ask to get a drink out of it! Good thing he wasn't quite tall enough to push the button and actually make water come out!

My parents got Kolton a Curious George monkey and a book about Curious George going to the aquarium so we had to take Kolton to the aquarium! Kolton loves this monkey! He loves giving him hugs!

THE AQUARIUM

We went to an aquarium as a family so Kolton could see all the fish! They had this ball thing that stuck out from one of the exhibits and this was his favorite!

Well, Kolton's arms were too short to reach the string rays, but he enjoyed sticking his hand in the water anyway!

At the aquarium they had this shark hanging from the wall. Tyler put Kolton on his shoulders so that he would be closer to him--we thought he would be scared, but this boy is just full of surprises! He really liked looking at him!

Any time my sister Cambrea would sit on the floor, Kolton would run over to her and tackle her. He really enjoyed hanging out with his aunt!

Tyler loved playing with Kolton. He would take him running around the house and Kolton loved it (as you can tell!)!

My brother Shawn is an awesome piano player! Kolton really liked playing with him. Don't you love how he doesn't have a shirt on? :)

TEMPLE SQUARE IN SALT LAKE CITY

One day my mom, Kolton and I went to Salt Lake to snap some pictures of Kolton. It was so fun!

Here is a picture of Kolton with the huge Christus Statue they have in the Visitor's Center. Kolton kept looking up at Christ. It was too precious!

Here is another shot of Kolton with Jesus. I love how they are both reaching for each other!

We went to the Visitor Center there in Temple Square and took a few pictures of Kolton with some of the displays they had there. This one is of Kolton with Joseph Smith.

These are pictures we took in front of the Salt Lake Temple. My brother Derek and his fiance Lizzie are planning on getting married there on August 14th!

Here is a picture of Kolton and I in front of the Salt Lake City Temple. It was so fun to go around Temple Square with my mom and Kolton and just take pictures!

I thought this picture was funny. We were trying to get a picture of Kolton looking at the temple but every time we would try he would try to run off and so my mom would run and grab him. This one just cracks me up!

Finally we got one that kind of worked. I think it is cute! I really need to go in and do some editing to the photos, though, to make them cool looking!

My brother Derek is really good at playing the guitar. He decided to take it out one night and play some on it. He even let Kolton play some too!

TREEHOUSE IN OGDEN, UTAH

Some of my mom's friends told her about this place called "Treehouse" in Ogden and said it was SO fun for kids. We decided to drive down to Ogden to check it out one day. It was awesome! We plan on going there each time we go back! They had so many fun things for kids to do! They have several different areas such as a music room, a "palace," different houses that represent different areas of the country such as Germany, Africa, China etc., a firetruck, the President's Office...the list goes on and on. The only silly thing about it tough, is that kids are $5.00 (ages 1-13) and then adults are $4.00. It was a blast though! I recommend it to everyone!


They had this firetruck right when you walked in. My mom and I thought it would be cute to put him on it for a photo opportunity. Well, turns out that thing is a lot more fun than you would think! He sat on that thing for a good 10 minutes! He just didn't want to get off. It doesn't light up or make noise or anyting but he still loved it!

These two little girls LOVED Kolton. They would follow his every step. It was too cute! Already the ladies man!!

In the Africa area they had lions and gorillas and whatnot. He was TERRIFIED of the gorilla. I kept trying to get a picture of him with it and just decided to snap one even though he was no where near him.

This picture was taking in one of the Asian areas I believe. He wanted to crawl in there but once he got in, he stepped right out!

In the Germany house they had a little basket of bread. My mom got it down for Kolton to play with and the first thing he did with it was grab a loaf of bread and walk right over to the bear and feed it to him. It was weird to me that he knew that you could feed the bear. I thought it was cute though!

All the different rooms they had were so cool! This is a picture of Kolton at the President's desk in the Oval Office. I love his serious face he has...oh the pressures of being President! ;)

They had a huge chess board and huge blocks that Kolton loved dragging around.

This isn't from the trip, but I think his face is funny, so I thought I would add it.

The Warmth Before the Frost

To start, we won't even talk about my last post...Such a sad night last night. Anyway, today was such a nice day! Kolton HAD to be outside! He loves to run around in the front yard (we have 3 Great Danes and a lab...the back yard is not good for little boys running around...)! We decided since a CRAZY cold front was coming tonight that we would let him play outside a few times. He absolutely LOVED it!

I tried to teach him that you kick a soccer ball. He just throws every ball he has. He picked up on it pretty fast and really like walking around kicking the ball.

He seriously is getting more and more fun to play with! I talk to Brady about it all the time. It is so fun to see his personality develop and watch him learn new things! Titan, our blue Great Dane, is the head you see in the picture.

And what is a day outside with a one year old little boy without eating grass??

Kolton's First Christmas!

Poor Kolton came down with a stomach bug or something this weekend so we decided to bring our matress out into the living room and sleep on it with him. Why? We don't know...it sounded like a good idea at the time. Since our living room is so small, though, it makes it hard to walk or open the front door, but it is fun! Tomorrow, it is going back in our room...

This was taken Saturday night...my poor baby. It is so sad! He is feeling all better now! Yay! I'm just glad it didn't fall on Christmas!!!

Kolton can walk!

FINALLY!!! I thought he would be walking in October but the boy just wouldn't do it! He would take a step or two but never would just do it on his own...until today! Now in the video I did some coaxing, but he has taken up to 15 steps at one time today. He has even walked to the couch from the chair for his drink on his own! Yay!

On a different note, this week we have felt really blessed! On Sunday we came home from choir practice to a bag full of cookies and caramel popcorn balls! So yummy! Then on Monday night we came home from Brady's final (I went to the mall while he took his test and let Kolton play) and on our doorstep was bags full of groceries (had to have been at least 10-15 bags)!! There was steak and turkey and cookies and cheese...just everything! Then on top of that, there was an envelope with a $100 bill and two gift certificates to Warren Theater (I can finally go see Twilight!). I feel so incredibly lucky and blessed that someone thought of us and did that for us. What kind people there are in this world! We are so lucky to have such awesome friends and family that mean so much to us! I am glad we have this time of year to remind us how lucky we are! Thank you to whoever left those special things on our doorstep! It really meant a lot!

It is so crazy to think a year ago I was pregnant with this guy! He has made our lives so much fun and he just cracks me up every day!

Today we took the puppies in the front yard to play with them. I took this hilarious video of Kolton playing with them with my real video camera (bummer), but decided to go get our camera to take this video. Not as funny, but that's ok. He was crawling around and the puppies would not leave him alone. They were jumping all over him licking him and he started getting really frustrated that he couldn't go anywhere. He has fun with them though!

And now he is annoyed...

Friday Night

Last night we went to go see Santa at Bass Pro Shop. They have free pictures with Santa! Probably the only place you can do that! They give you one free 4x6 (you can order more if you want) AND they let you use your own camera to take whatever pictures you want!!

We had a lot of fun last night! I was really happy we were able to get a picture of Kolton with Santa...even though he didn't enjoy it! The second I started moving Kolton towards Santa and Santa put his hands out, Kolton freaked out. He really scared him! So sad!

Boring week at the Brammers

Well, I haven't posted in a while because NOTHING has really happened this week!
This week, though, I bought a bag of animal crackers (they are $1.94 for a HUGE bag) to see if Kolton would eat them. Well, he loves them! He is always asking for a kaka (cookie). It is fun. Things are starting to get confusing, though, with his kaka for cookie, ka for drink, bah (in a really high pitch voice) for bite, baba for bottle, and ba for ball. The only things you actually know for sure what he is saying is dog (gog) and nini for no--I don't know how that happened.

Identity Theft (scholarship)

Identity theft is a serious crime. Identity theft involves stealing someone's identity, whether for monetary gain or not. Many people don't realize that you don't have to do something major like make a $40,000 purchase to commit the crime of identity theft. By using a found I.D., you are committing a form of identity theft. In 2006, Oklahoma was ranked number 23 with a total number of 2,254 victims of identity theft. And those are just the ones that people notice! So many people get their credit card bills and just pay them without even looking at all the charges! A $5.00 McDonald's charge to your card by someone other than you is identity theft and can be prosecuted. According to spamlaws.com, even after someone fixes all the charges and whatnot from identity theft, 47% of them still have problems getting another credit card, even though the problems caused with their credit were not from them. Over 25% of identity theft victims have to deal with their case for 4 to 6 months. It takes a lot of work and time to get wrong charges off your credit card or deposited back into your bank account. It is also important to note that some stranger doesn't have to get a hold of your information. The teller at your bank, if you go often enough, might even have your social security number memorized. They will have access to your full name, birth date, address, social security number, YOUR BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER...everything they need to buy something online, get a credit card. Bank tellers are not superior people...they are just like you and me. They are college students, they are moms, they are dads...they can be anyone. This might shock you, but 43% of victims actually knew the person who stole their identity! Almost half knew the person! With the economy how it is now and where it is heading many people are becoming desperate. Thousands of Americans are loosing their jobs. Be careful of where you leave your wallet. Be careful of who you tell your information to. Be careful when using public computers to order things online. Be careful. Be careful. Be careful!
