SPRING!

I think its finally spring now! I'm so excited! Kolton loves to play outside and I love to sit out there and watch him too! He will play and play for hours out there if you'd let him!
Kolton got some of my "winter" socks out of my drawer the other day and decided he wanted to wear them.
A couple of days ago Kolton and I went outside to play basketball and have a snack. Growing up I used to always eat graham crackers dipped in milk with my brothers. We loved it! We would say "1-2-3 MAGIC" as we'd try and crack the graham cracker the long way without breaking it--if you could you were magic! ;) Anyway, I introduced this snack to Kolton and he loved it! He ended up making a huge mess as soggy pieces of graham cracker would fall to the ground and milk was dripping everywhere, but we were outside so it wasn't that big of a deal! We did have to take his shirt off though--this is why you see a half naked toddler blowing bubbles! ;)

Yesterday we went to the park with Brittney, Kade and Emery. It was SO windy! I couldn't believe it! You literally had to brace yourself when the big gusts would come or you'd start to loose your balance! I couldn't believe how well Kolton did at the park. He could do everything by himself! I just stood and watched him go round and round climbing up and down and going down the slide and across and over and under. He's just getting SO big!

OK, look at the picture of Kolton above (his profile) and then look at the picture below...
Same kid? Sure does look like it! This is my brother Tyler when he was little at my grandparents house. My mom sent me this picture the other day and I COULD NOT believe how much they look alike! Its crazy!

We went to Target on Monday so I could find the book "Catching Fire"--the second book to the Hunger Games. Kolton found one of those water color books with a tiger on it! ;) he has NEVER seen Pooh & Friends and has absolutely no idea who the characters are so when I told him that was Tigger he said, "No, its a TIGER." Anyway, last night while we were waiting for Brady to come home from work Kolton asked if he could paint a picture for daddy. He did three of them and loved every second of it! It is so nice too because it isn't messy at all! He was so excited to show Brady when he came home. He ran and got all three pictures and gave them to him right away!

Kolton's bed broke the other day randomly so we put his mattress on the floor until we find him another bed. I wasn't thinking at all like a mother should and left his toy box right next to the head of his bed. Well, yesterday Kolton was in a very good mood just running around being all goofy and ran into his room and flung himself on his bed. He didn't land on his pillow, though--his head landed right on the edge of his wooden toy box! The force of it threw him back up into a sitting position and boy did he SCREAM! I felt so bad for him! He had no idea what hit him! You can see the results of it in the picture of him painting...It looks worse in person though! Needless to say, I moved the toy box across the room so hopefully we won't have that happen again! ;(

Here are my tulips now. I've never seen tulips open as wide as these ones have! I love them! I think they are coming to the end of their days, though. Sad. It was great to have them while I did though!

Every once in a while I'll scrub the kitchen sink. I swear every time I do it, he will copy me and clean the sink sometime later that day. This time I came out of the shower and found that he had pulled the chair over there and was cleaning the sink. He's such a good helper!

He asked for a sticker one afternoon and kept putting it on his head. He thought it was pretty sweet! :) He wanted to put one in my hair too--I didn't go for it! ;)

Here is a video of him hard at work cleaning the sink.

Easter Egg Hunt

Last night we went to an Easter Egg Hunt in Norman. We picked Brady up from work and headed right over to Andrew's Park for the egg hunt. They had it divided into all different ages (non-walkers, 2 & under, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8). There were a TON of kids there! I'm glad they had it divided by ages otherwise there is no way Kolton would have been able to get any eggs! He was so excited to be able to use his basket and pick up the candy! We had bought the basket the day before and all he wanted to do was play with it. I didn't want him to break it by standing on it etc. so I wouldn't let him play with it. Originally we were going to go to the Moore Easter Egg Hunt this morning but since Brady had to work we went to Norman's last night. Anyway, so yesterday morning he woke up and wanted to play with his basket. I told him no and explained to him that he could use it tomorrow morning after we played all day, ate dinner, brushed our teeth and read the Book of Mormon, said prayer, went nigh-night and then when we woke up he could use it. After he took a bath and got dressed he told me he was going nigh-night (which he does a lot) so I put him to bed and after about 30 minutes he came out and told me he had woken up and now he could play with his basket because now it was "tomollow." It was cute.
Here he is waiting for the siren to go off signaling the start of the hunt. He was DYING to go in the roped off area and start!!
Parents weren't technically supposed to go in and help but I don't think a single parent (in Kolton's age group) didn't go in and help their kids. Brady and I took turns holding his basket and pointing to eggs for him to pick up.

Kolton showing me all his eggs. The "hunting" was literally done in probably 3 minutes. The kids really went at it!

The candy was less than desirable :) but Kolton enjoyed eating the eggs he got to pick up. I know it doesn't look like he likes it but I promise he did.

Brady told Kolton to take another bite so I could take a picture and so he was showing Brady that he already had a bite in his mouth so he'd take another one "in a minute"-one of his new favorite things to say. I'll tell him to come to me for something and he'll say back "in a minute" or "i'm comin' in a minute." :)

After the hunt Brady and Kolton ran over to one of the playgrounds and Kolton played for a little bit going down the slide several times!

Then we left and on our way back to our car a train came right past us. Kolton was SO excited to watch it! It kept honking its horn as it went past us and it was flippin' loud! He loved watching it though!

On Thursday I went outside to go throw away a dirty diaper (life of a mom :) ) and outside on the porch was a flower box. I was like "WHAT?! Someone sent me flowers?!" I was so excited! Turns out Brittney's mom sent Brady and I a bouquet of tulips with a nice letter to go with it thanking us for being friends with the Foys. How nice! THEN, that evening, Sterling's mom took me and Kolton out to dinner to Teds (YUM!) and also bought Brady a meal to go (he had to work) and thanked us for being their friends too. What an awesome day we had!

Spring? Winter?

We've had a car track stuffed underneath Kolton's train table since right after Christmas. I finally pulled it out on Friday and thew it away (it was completely broken--I don't know why I was keeping it). No more than 2 minutes after I did that Kade had gone completely under the table and was playing with some cars. Kolton quickly joined him under there. It was great! :)
Saturday morning we woke up to this. It snowed off and on all day on Saturday. Weather can be so random! Friday was almost 70 outside and then Saturday it snows?? Random! I think we got like 2 inches or something like that--not the 8-14" they predicted, but still, 2" on the first day of Spring?! But, come Monday it was warm again and yesterday was really nice, so luckily it didn't last very long!

On Sunday we went over to Brady's parent's house. We haven't been there in forever! Kolton had fun making everyone play with him! Everyone had a turn making him fly!
Here's Maddi's version of flying:

And Daddy's:

Daddy and Grandpa's combined effort:

And Grandpa's:

We ate dinner over there and then Dylen opened his mission call. Its going to be so exciting for each of us to have brothers on their missions! He had some friends there and then Jeff and Vanessa and Jaycee and Adam were on the phone.

Yesterday Kolton and I spent a good hour and a half outside playing. He played basketball, walked his puppy, ran around chasing me with a stick, and ate some chips. I tried to read a book while still acknowledging each of his made baskets and laughing at the puppy etc. :) I'm reading the book "Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. My friend Shana recommended it and let me borrow her copy. Its actually really good! I'm excited to finish it and then read the other two books in the series.

After playing outside we came in and Kolton asked for a popsicle. He loved it and I loved watching him eat it. I'm so excited for spring and summer (if they'd just come!). Its nice to get outside and play! He just told my mom on the phone that we're going outside again today to play basketball with his basketball hoop and goal. Hopefully we can and aren't rained out! ;)

Look at him going to town with that thing!
I'm also really excited for Easter! I'm excited for the Easter Bunny to come and bring Kolton lots of fun treats and toys! I'm curious, though, do any of you guys have any cool traditions for Easter?

Leaf Tickle

The other day Kolton found his pumpkin in his room and asked me to put candy in it. I put like 5 pieces in it and then he told me he wanted to take a picture with his candy and pumpkin. For some reason, randomly, he remembered Halloween, dumping out his candy, and taking a picture. ;)
On Thursday Kade came over to play while his sister had a doctor's appointment. Kolton and Kade had fun playing trucks together.

On Thursday Brady took Kolton outside to play. They chased each other around with branches from one of our bushes and tickled each other. They had such a blast doing it together!

When Kolton went and got a branch, he said to Brady, "Daddy-go run!" and then started chasing him. Having a toddler is so much fun! Its great to see him learn and say new things!

Just chilling with daddy. He came inside and asked for his and daddy's sunglasses because the "sun is too bright." I love it! (I know I say that a lot, but I do!)

Brady also brought the basketball goal outside and sat and watched him play basketball while I did some cleaning.

Kolton loves to pose for the camera and is often found doing something silly and then saying "take a picture!"

Another one of the things Kolton will say now, is "Thanks for playing with me" when he gives his friends hugs good-bye as they leave. In his little voice it is so stinking cute!
Well, Brady got a new job for the next little bit! He starts on Monday at Reynolds Ford selling cars! We are really excited for this opportunity and hope he loves his new job! It will be weird not being with him almost every day all day--he'll now have to work at least 45 hours a week--but we know the sacrifice will be worth it.

Oh my gosh!

Today is the first day Kolton has been heard saying this phrase:
OH MY GOSH!

Basketball

Twice now Kolton has done this at the Foys house:It makes me laugh. He just stands there and has Kade put the balls in for him. I don't know why he thinks it is so cool, but he loves to do it. He'll even tell Brittney to take his picture. ;) He's just such a cutie! He's such a good little boy too! I mean, he has his moments-you can tell he's 2 now--but overall he's pretty good.
On Sunday I had a sucker in my bag. During sacrament meeting he found it in my bag and sat up with this cute excited face and showed me the sucker. I told him he could have it after church and to put it in his shirt pocket. This sweet little boy didn't even argue or whine or anything--he just put it in his pocket and went on to do something else. I didn't think much of it, I mean I was happy he listened and we didn't have a scene in church, but I didn't realize how lucky I am to have such an obedient boy until my friend who was sitting behind me pointed it out after sacrament meeting. I really need to be more grateful for all the times Kolton is so obedient and sweet instead of focusing on the times he isn't. Everyone knows 2 year olds have attitude. We are lucky though to have the sweet little boy that we do. He even still asks to go to bed!! We are so blessed!

CANDYopolis

Tuesday Brady, Kolton and I went to the mall. We walked around a little bit and looked at some things and then let Kolton play. He was so good that we told him he could go to Candyopolis and pick out some candy.
Letting him go through the store and pick out what candies he wanted was SO much fun! It was so worth the $100 we spent on it! ;) (Just kidding--it obviously wasn't $100 but it definitely was way more than the candy is worth!:)) He had so much fun walking through and telling us he wanted this candy and this candy. Its so much fun having this little guy!
We went home and him and daddy had fun eating all sorts of different candies!

Quick story (more for my benefit so I don't forget): On Monday we went shopping for a couple baby shower gifts and decided to buy a couple things for Kolton. We came home and tried them on him. He was in HEAVEN! He ran around in circles laughing and saying "new clothes! Kolton's new clothes!" Well, the next morning he woke up and the VERY first thing that came out of his mouth was "Kolton wear new clothes?" in a very excited voice. He's going to be like his dad. :)

Welcome Baby Emery!!

It is so nice to have Brady back! He got home on Thursday afternoon just in time for me to go to the hospital to see Emery be born! Kolton has loved hanging out with Brady ever since I got back from Utah. While Brady was gone every time he'd hear a car lock he'd think Brady was home and get all excited...every time we'd come home from an errand he'd think Brady was home waiting for us...it was sad. BUT we are glad he's home now! I even surprised him with a painted office when he came home! Its so great to have it painted and he's happy he didn't have to do it! ;)

Kade came over to our house on Thursday, the 4th at 5:00 in the morning so his parents could head to the hospital to have Emery! We had so much fun having him at our house! Brady came home at about noon and then I headed up to the hospital. Brady took the boys to his parents house to pick up the pack and play so Kade would have a place to sleep that night and to let the boys play outside because it was BEAUTIFUL out there!
Both mornings the boys took a bath together. They LOVED it! They had so much fun splashing around and playing with the cars and trucks. They were obviously naked so I had to do a little editing... :)

They found a pair of Kolton's floaties and both wanted to wear them. They just played and played all day!

I made it JUST in time to see Emery be born! I went up to the hospital when Brittney was a 5, was there for maybe 30 minutes and then Brittney was a 10! She's crazy fast! She only had to do a little half push and Emery was born! I've only seen one delivery but that is seriously the fastest thing I've seen! :) Emery was born at 1:23 and weighed 7 lbs 2 oz and was 22 inches long. I am so glad I was able to be there for her birth! I'm so glad Brittney invited me to be there! They are our bestest friends and I'm so happy for them to have this sweet little girl! It was such a happy experience--I was teary throughout the whole thing! ;)

Brady REALLY wanted to share his sucker with her...Brittney didn't think it would be a good idea. :)

Look at that bow! So cute! She is so beautiful! I love it!

Here's Kade meeting her for the first time. So sweet! He loves giving her kisses!

Kolton is pretty obsessed with Baby Emery too. He always wants to look at her and hug her and kiss her! He loves Brittney too!

Kade got one of those coloring books and markers that only work on the paper they are made for. Each of the boys got to color a picture. They are such good artists! ;)

I was changing Kolton's diaper one night and he started doing the "Little Piggies" to himself. He did it so cute I wanted to video him. I told him I was going to video him and asked him to do it again and he did a pretty good job the second time around--not as good as the first time but pretty good! That's how it always goes, though! ;)
